Just been thinking of ways I can add a bit more variety to the end of songs when everyone does their own thing. You know the score, epic drum rolls/bass runs/singer standing there looking lost... Normally I run up and down 3 octaves of the end note without much in the way of prior though, usually major/minor pentatonic. However, this can sound a bit samey after a few songs, anyone got any fresh ideas for how to mix it up a bit? Adding modes or different scales in there maybe? Jez

I haven't changed my power tubes in my SVT since 2003, used new old stock GE 6550s from Watford valves and haven't noticed any degredation in sound quality since. Which is good since they cost £50 each back then and they are now £100 and you need 6 of the buggers! Fingers crossed they last a bit longer!

Up to you, but if you want to earn good coin you are going to have to do some contemporary hits in different genres - pop/dance/rock. On the other hand if its more for fun play what you want I guess, Id personally stick to the classic bluesy rock though

Ok, updating the board to reflect the new band setup so would like to sell these to fund boring sensible stuff like tuners and volume pedals. All great pedals but Im not using them at the moment, in the aphex pedals case I bought these to make my practice rig sound awesome but have now moved onto amp modeling software for that. Main rig is an SVT which doesn't seem to need help in the awesome department! So first up, the micro pog - on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/140717698891?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 great sounding octave pedal, no power supply as I had it daisy chained, some minor scatches on the decal near the footswitch but nothing more than that. Aphex exciter - sold Adds a bit of sparkle to highs and more bottom end to proceedings Aphex Punch Factory - sold Lovely compression that tidies things up without being too over the top Cheers!

######## Now sold ###################### Hello, Up for sale is my 2003 Musicman Stingray in cherryburst with a rosewood fretboard and 3 band eq. I have owned this from new having bought it from Anderton's in guildford back in June 2003. It is in immaculate condition overall owing to the fact that I use my jazz for most of my gigging although I had need for two basses in my last band so this got a fair runout over the past 18 months or so as well! Love the sound of this bass but feel a change is in order, and finally need to get round to getting hold of a precision that I always wanted. In an ideal world I'd keep this one, and buy a precision. But money and 2 kids doesn't make this practical (wife might also kill me) No longer need to trade, final price for a quick sale, collection only! Cheers Jez

I use 2 although I'd just take the one if I could get away with it. Since I'm too tight to buy a tuner pedal it takes me less time to swap basses then it does to swap between normal and flat tuning, so the stingray I use for Eb stuff and the jazz to switch between standard/drop d,

Here's mine: Ampeg USA SVT classic 410HLF - I prefer this to the 810E I had, much clearer and louder I reckon, well impressed. Also pictured is my tech making some minor ajustments...
