1. I do, but I also have to sell stuff.
2. Hey. Stick around. You'll soon know all there is to know, about about bum crack hair and gay marriage. (first!)
3. Installed the body on a neck? That's novel. I would do it the other way round. On another note, If you built a bass using this body it will offer very little protection when I turn up and start shooting at you.
4. Does the album begin with the letter R?
5. This was always gonna be good.
6.
I wonder what's going on with the bass outside of the photo
. No, that's all you get!
7. 20mm spacing?
8.
Kala U Bass would work too
Definately this. They are tuned the same as regular basses. It all depends how small a child we are talking and what their expectations are.
9. Nice F'ing bass. They look especially good in swamp ash.
10. Bagsy last!
11. Aah, it's you!
12. Not sure what you mean but epoxy probably be best. Wood glue would not adhere to any metal but it would make it better/tighter/harder .
13.
genius! for your next trick... say I wanted that lesley revolving speaker sound... can you build one of them into a bass too?
Yes, but you would have to bolt your shoes to the stage.
14.
Plate reverb bit screwed to the back?
Spring off an old carlsboro head inplace of a truss rod.
15.
Nice ...lovin the Poplar BURR . Jon...you'll need 48hrs in a day if this keeps up ! IanM
You're right, we are not american and burr is the proper speak. 12 hour days (11 spent on basschat ) Luckily working from home means i can work anytime.
16.
How d'you know that? Been talkin behind my back eh?
Dur, it says it in the op you fool.
17.
built in reverb?!
How d'you know that? Been talkin behind my back eh?
18. It'sa whole other beast to work with. I used 100 grams of super glue to get this 'unstabilized' bit where I wanted it. You have to wash it with glue for every pass of the thicknesser. Takes time, but worth it in the end.
19. Poplar burl. Does look a little birdseyeified.
20. Wet sanding is actually very calming and satisfying. Dont expect to get it perfect the first time and save some paint incase of sand through. I would suggest strongly that you dont attempt to strip the poly finish, you'll be sanding till christmas. Justclean it up, fill any dings and paint over it. Not great for your tone but like i say, stripping it is a task.
21. I wouldn't dream of asking an auditionee to pay their share. That's just f***ing rude and they should have recieved a slap in the bollocks instead.
22. Tis the grain soaking up the finish. I didn't think it was possible with poly though.?.? I guess it's the sealer but that would mean the poly would pull away from the surface. There seem to be a few people who want a thick finish on their guitar. The thinner the better.
23. That's dead wierd.
