1. http://soundcloud.com/sttelnoj/drunken-day The title says it all. We had some right laughs in this band and this was the most fun song we ever wroted.
2. You can get bc on iphones anyway without an appl-e-cation. Not that i have an iphone. I'm way too cool for that.
3. Weren't they called the diddy men?
4. Might be interested in this mate. Could be used as part of your custom cost Andy. Not the deposit but final payment. A thought.
5. If the break angle over the saddle is too steep the outer winding doesn't last long at all. Is the action a bit high? Also if the saddles are slotted and the string is too snug it will bind and break.
6. A simple in/out box such as Alesis i/o (which i use), cheap midi(usb) keyboard and a pc. The in/out boxes usually come with a free copy of cubase le. And away you go. Oh and some drum software such as ezdrummer or bfd if you want something a little more special with lots of cool patterns and kits.
7. http://soundcloud.com/sttelnoj/fretlessmetal This thread inspired me to have a go mesen. I've not played metal for a very very long time and I'm sure you'll all think it's gay, but here it is if you're interested. It's just a bare bones cut and paste job in cubase, so the arr isn't great, but I quite like it. Featuring totally random vocal mumblings. Just ideas. Any hints and tips are welcome. Fretless 4 string eadg and hardtail guitar dadgbe with i.m.p distortion. Thanks Andy, you've reawakened my metal head.
8. he he
9. Good un. Selfmade is always more rewarding.
10. I can see your dilemma, and I also
11. Doesn't matter what instrument you play, You take it to the limit of your ability/patience. We all know it's nothing to do with how many notes per minute and/or at a time you play.
12.
It's not been stolen yet. As it hasn't been obtained dishonestly.
But the seller is trying to sell someone else' property. Isn't that the same thing?
13. Gawd knows. Looks like every other one I've seen
14. It clearly states that it has been stolen from a lodger who owes money. The lodger does not owe the seller a bass guitar and I would hope that this is not legal.
15. They may also just like the feel of the neck.
16. My birth year. That's all i've got to say really.
17. I thought chapsticks were to soften the lips. Aren't these called tap guitars?
18. I guess even if they used the low b on 2 or 3 songs it would save the need for an extra bass. I prefer to have a high c rather than low b. I haven't played 'metal' since my slayer days so my tuppence is probably only worth halfpence. Halpence for my tuppence anyone? snigger
19. We've been cut short after going over the half hour slot a few times. 3 hours is taking the piss.
20. Cool post. I think Linear sphere made my ear go poorly.
21. Hello and welcome.
22. How bad/good can it be. It's either plywood, alder or ash. If it's heavy then I would guess at one of the latter. From a pointless 'personal point of view' perspective, the weight of this kind of bass is exactly what turns me off. You could probably pick one up even cheaper than this. I'm sure they're are a few folk on basschat trying to declutter who are getting rid of bits like this at the mo.
23. Yes were always hit and miss (mostly miss, no groove). I think once a band has gone away they should definately stay away. Stone roses for instance. Oasis'll be getting back together next, in fact that was probably the plan all along.
