1. Dont know about anyone else, but Fantomas are one of the best 'weird' bands around. Paton is a genius.
2.
Came across this band last week Diablo Swing Orchestra, they mix Swing and Metal music and do a very very good job I must say! What's some other unique bands you know?
I don't know. The trumpets dont work at all to me. It all sounds a bit 'soundtracky'
3. Pretty cool. Not a slap fan, but these are all great musicians. And fancy dressing like a man, what a freak! edit:Oh yea, and I love the traditional/modern mix.
4. You got a lot of nice basses for sale man.
5. You can't dangle a carrot like that and not show us the orange. What did i just say?
6. he he. Sounds like a good win/lose relationship.
7. You're starting to make a habit of this I see Should have a pretty interesting (and quality) collection.
8. I once put on an impromptu and well attended gig in local woodlands (got us in the Leicester mercury). We borrowed a generator and stuck a couple of tarps up in the trees. It rained the whole time but all the equipment was fine and we had a great time. Good luck.
9.
hello...? if y that rich buy a fodera or alembic u dumbass. altho i do like old burners. but the rest of em, to clean cut nice guy.
? Great review.
10. What finish is on it now? If it's glossy and hard you will have a hell of a job trying to sand it down. Modern finishes are designed to withstand nuclear blasts.
11. The idea of warming up with heavy grained wood is interesting. Fretting 10 boards a day has got to hurt. I also used to use the japanese pull saw. I like templates because it cuts out all the careful measuring but the idea of not relying on such things I find appealing once again. I may revert to the old ways for some models, at least the lined fretless until I'm confident.
12. Try guitarbuild.co.uk. You should contact him and see what he says. Lincolnshire based.
13. No problem Yann. All the best, and sorry bassmachine, nice bass! Looks like Yann slotted the board by eye. Respect. I did a fair few like that but couldn't trust myself to get it exact enough and eventually moved on to steel templates. Cool detail at the end of the fretboard. Nice finish too.
14. Marcus Miller surely deserves a slap.
15. Yann, You sound like someone who knows his onions, and a nice guy too. I hope you can find peace in luthery in whatever country takes your fancy. Easy brother. Jon.
16. I'd say get on to some inspirational you tube vids of great players and be inspired.
17. That's tough love.
18. No silly. Doors.
19. A little confused by that blurb. Sounds fun though.
20. I'm just joshin.
21. Oh those guys
22. In my everlasting quest for the ultimate bandname. I always stay away from the word white. I always feel it could be taken as a supremacy statement, wrongly or otherwise. Did that cross your mind? It's a great word but I could never use it. I am genuinely interested to know if it crossed your mind. Bit bizarre I know. A dolomites a car right? Or is it a mountain range? Sorry.
23. Carbon fibre truss rods? Do you mean stiffening rods? They only replace a hole where the 'tonewood' was removed you know
