1.
I'm the other way round in so much as i would rather see a f***ed up performance by the original artists than a shiny polished tribute alternative.
too right. Like a libertines tribute where everyones sober and knows the songs!? no thankyou.
2. A job well done mate. A bass for life no doubt. kruto!
3. Were those fret 'slots' marked out and cut freehand? I would assume a tablesaw is used. It just looks from the photo like the slots were cut on that there table. I realise now that the shot was taken during the radius. Easy now. Nice diary!
4. It's great to see how others do these things. Is that a single action rod then?
5. What a great honour! respeck!
6.
Personally, I would not pay that sort of money to see a covers band. You can usually see the real band for less!
er yea. Not the floyd though.
7. More please.
8. input up, output down?
9.
That's a lot for acid innit? Or has the price gone up?
Dunno, not fashionable anymore is it, it's all cat fertilizer nowadays intit. £33.33.3333333 would be within my budget.
10.
You can always get those nasty little sticky things from Ebay that look like you've got blocks (from about 20 feet away.........in a dim room).
ugh! yea you could do that.
11. Spend the 33 quid on some nice acid and you'll feel like you are pink floyd! Or syd Barrett at least.
12. Bit of a pain when the fingerboards already radiused, and would obviously require a refret. Not gonna be cheap. The suggestion of finding an inexpensive replacement neck is the right one.
13. Henry, if you let us know what you want regarding string spacing, size and shape, I'm sure we could send you a sample mate.
14. not sure there is such a thing as clean overdrive.
15. OP needs try and make a fewbasses i reckon, chop a couple of fingers off and trash a few grands worth of timber before he can truly know the answer.
16. Planned? Right question though. Postage would be a nightmare. You need someone local or save the coinage and get a thicknesser if it's a wholesale operation.
17. Never got on very well with the omega. A proper pain to install properly and seems to be extremely temperamental and the panel is needlessly complicated. Tried for a long time on different systems with very little success and it no longer works at all. Having said that, it should work fine with pretty much any software, and compatibility shouldn't be an issue. I get on really well with my alesis io4 which is fantastic for the money and takes a helluva beating.
18. that is gonna hurt like hell. i dont think the choice will be yours, but your thumbs. i cut the very end off my thumb a while back, really painful and achy. a new joint is on another level.
19. pics?
20.
So, it`s quite obvious that people who think they are making state of the art instruments for the discerning ultra muso, are in fact old hippies with f*** all left to do to justify their outdated belief system than to collect driftwood from a beach in Goa and add loads of crap hardware to it and claim it`s a dragon bass. I mean. f*** the f*** off. Where`s the technological breakthroughs, the gleaming carbon finish, the self tuning temperature sensing tone adjusting variable scale super bass? Damn hippies can`t be trusted. Get Steve jobs on it. Ahh sh*t.
ha. apple guitars would surely spell the end. i'm sure they have a shiny (cr)app just for you. all that glitters. . .
21.
Say no more...
double ball end?
22. shall we run through the set then?
23. Sounds to me like it's not a raised fret but a low fret. if you sight down the neck from the bridge you should be able to see the offending fret. Pull it, replace it, level it, dress it.
24. if you're right handed your pitch perception comes from the left ear which is the side you listen to yourself with, and vice-versa. This is why you only use one side of the 'cans'. right handed-left side off, left handed-right side off.
25. if i right the lyrics and melody, i wrote the song. if a bassist, guitarist and drummer join in with their own bits, i still wrote the song. if i write lyrics and someone else writes the tune, i wrote the lyrics and someone else wrote the music. adding a catchy bassline or guitar bit doesn't give you song writing credits. a song is the melody and lyrical content.
