1. hey hey, i struggle to find strings which cater for my seperate tailpiece design (i say my design, it's actually nothing new of course) the silk or taper either extends over the saddle or the nut. i tried la bella flats recently. extra long scale. all the strings fit apart from the b which has a totally different ball end, end. frustration! good old stringbusters though. they don't f"*k about. next day delivery and a great selection.
 2. er tonetech, axesrus?, craft supplies,
 3.
Erm, just for clarity, in your first post you say you took your Strat in, then in the later post you say when you picked your bass up. Which was it?
good work holmes.
 4. i think rather that un-recommended luthier thread. how about checking the recommended luthier thread before entrusting your instrument to someone. if he screwed your guitar you should have smacked him with the headstock. or at least got a more competent recommended guy or gal to fix the bad job. i would have maybe asked for my money back. and by the way this doesn't sound like a 'luthier' to me. in my opinion, a luthier is someone who can build or repair any stringed instrument. the word gets chucked around too much. this guy sounds more like a roofer with an allen key. i build basses. i am not a luthier. i am a bass maker.
 5. looks like he's havin fun to me. what was he using?
 6. i'd soon run out of frets on that one. how frustrating would that be if it was your only bass? very!
 7. hey, i like it. seems to have done a good job. the tuners look great. and of course it has the genuine fender bridge alignment problems so who'd guess it's only a squier, squire. he's right in saying it's original. of course it aint the only relic'd guitar in the world but there has to be less of those, than the billions of other fenders that all look identical.
 8. sanding the radii on fingerboards has left me with constant arm ache. ironically, after building too many basses, it's now playing the bass that hurts the most. and stopping to rest for 6 months is out of the question. my dad has trouble with all his joints due to a lifetime of hard graft as a decorator. mostly sanding ceilings. sandpaper has a lot to answer for.
 9.
Nope.
crazy bitch. get yousen some almond oil from the chemist. orange or lemon oil too. in fact just about any natural oil will suffice. olive oil anyone?
 10. most necks will need an adjust with different gauges i reckon. and it's gotta be THE easiest thing in the world as long as you have a screw driver and the allen key, and the nut isn't in some ridiculous position like at the heel with those darned stringy things in the way. whos idea was that eh?
 11.
This can most certainly be arranged, however I couldn't look at doing it till early/mid November due to quantity of reviews coming up. Pop me a PM and we'll sort something out!
sound as. will keep an eye on the blog for a bit then. nice one.
 12.
I've seen & played his basses & I think it'd be well worthwhile. G.
aah cheers geoff. hows the telly holdin up?

 15.
I'm usually on my second pint by the time I get on stage, or a bit toasted. Could do it sober, but would rather not, it's all part of the fun.
yay. likewise my slightly toasted friend.
 16.
asking 16 year olds for photos , the google bots will be on this thread like a hobos dog into warm chips! doug
innit. tres dodge.
 17. hmm. tell that to jimmy page.
I have always played sober, and frankly,I think anyone who is not at their best as a result of intoxication is doing their audience - and themselves - a disservice.I have played the odd gig speeding my t*ts off,but that's a whole different topic.
