I much prefer this one:
a little too much dont ya think? joni's music didn't really need a lot going on. great playing though nonetheless. jungle line is one of my favourite songs. 'hissing of summer lawns' and 'blue' are both great albums.

When is a Warwick Thumb NOT a Warwick Thumb...
On a second look the pu's seam straight (paralel to each other)! I get the feeling that the neck pu is longer than the bridge pu and that gives the ilusion of being misplaced, probably a choice from the customer in this specific pu's resulted in that! Also another thing that seems to decieve our eyes is the slight inclination of the pu's, not as big as the original W's but still a fair a bit. Don't think the bass was amistake from Jon, probably a result of very poor choices from the customer when ordering... edit: i was trying to do some spelling check but there are so many mistakes i ended giving up! I think you all understand what i'm writting...
hmm. true, the pups look like they are back to front, still not quite lined up with each other though. but hey, if fender people can live with dodgy bridge alignment, surely this is a trifle. £795 starting price is a tad ambitious. -
creatively and performance wise, i am a guitard. the music has taken a seat at the back of the bus since i started building basses. i am now firmly set in mind that my whole setup will be homemade. it's a big decision for me and amps and effects are gonna be a big challenge, but i'm standing firm. as a result i'm purging myself of any bits o' stuff i've got knocking around. there aint a lot and it's in various states, but still, here it is. i'll get some pics if you want em and more info to come. ehx pedal bag £20 posted u.s.a big muff and small clone (battered but working and in their boxes) £30 each posted boss ds1 £20 posted marshall delay pedal £20 posted 2 kent armstrong 7 string pups. er, rocker (unused) and paf something or other £20 each posted hp keyboard ? £10 posted? korg microkontrol (not working but can be repaired at a fraction of the cost from new) £20 posted art tube micro preamp, the blue one with vdu £40 posted 60's reslo ribbon mic ala the beatles in good condition (good luck with this one, you need to know about these things to get a good sound. the ribbon is in good shape but the output on these mic's is miniscule) £40 posted se2200a condensor mic, this was in a house fire, undamaged visually but makes some pretty weird whooshing sounds. if you know what you're doing you may be able to rescue it, dunno. comes with cradle and flight case which could be useful to somebody. make an offer i'm sure there's more to come. sold me hot rod deluxe a few weeks ago. 22" lg flatscreen and hp keyboard removed as unacceptable bc sale.
why not ask Dealer list see anything odd??
VERY STRANGE. designed by andy m no less!? they fly the union flag proudly but have no uk contact or uk dealer. just all the most reputable dealers in the usual places. isreal, ukraine, bolivia, bangkok etc ok nothing wrong with that i guess. nothing in germany though, which is where the ebay item is located. very very weird. wouldn't touch it with mine! -
The top bass in the picture could be ok, just the angle making it look wrong. But the bottom one definitely looks off. Oh well, we each have our own taste when it comes to set-ups. Maybe he/she never plays the E-string!
he/she doesn't have much choice! though, it's not as bad as the other road. coz the tendency is to pull the E string down. it's the action that suffers most in this case.
Maybe it is some early work? Weird.
that would be my first thought. maybe the saddles are setup wrong by the owner? pickups f***ed up but i'm sure it still sounds reet. a big price for a less than perfect (but a one off none the less) bass. surely someone can get clar from mr shuker himself. -
apparently k +6 digits is japan '90 '91 and body serial 6 digits beginning 25 is mid 60's!
-
what are you willing to pay? would that serial make it korean?

one more thing. the headstock is veneered not capped. cool. no bother, but if you're using veneers, why not use beautiful veneers? -

looks ok to me ross. you never can tell with photos. though a few things i noticed straight away. the poorly fitted nut and the treble side of the top has a join. the headstock still has marker pen on the edge, why? also the spelling of middle (midden?) bothers me (a little picky maybe, but a bit careless and doesn't instill confidence). also if it's designed in uk, why is it located in germany. it seems that as a 'prototype' it has remained unfinished in certain aspects. no doubt you could bring it up to spec with a little work, but if it has these slight defecst on the surface, whats going on inside? -
bonjour, or in english, reetup. what bass do you play (not that it matters), or rather, what gives you GAS (apart from the saurkraut and beer)? er. . qu'est la guitarre de basse de tu? how's that?
-
well blow me down and call me a taxi. can't imagine the gloves last long tho. do gloves help with sustain? or socks for that matter? hang on. deja vu.
I don't dislike his sound, as sonically on record, particularly when he's playing slower passages it's a very rich and sonorous tone. I don't think it's a tone that's dated particularly well however, so in the context of most contemporary music I can understand people not being particularly enamoured with it.
much like his dress sense then.
