1. For me, the best big gig amp ever built. If you simply must be heard at the back, this is the one
2. 'Used to have one of these - lovely basses but the board was far too wide for me (didn't quite sit right against the body too but that's a personal ergonomics thing). Very high quality construction and very good finishing - nice focused tone. Probably better with a gig bag - my Fodera case had an awful organic smell (glue?). I can't see this hanging around - truly lovely top.
3. Come on, Binks needs a holiday. Seriously, these come up very rarely and are absolutely stunning (the quality of build and tone are almost unbelievable - the Amp One is also surprisingly loud - this is a giggable unit for smaller venues)
4. Utterly lovely - I had one of these and the tops are just gorgeous. Fantastic, classic Spector tone too.
5. Absolutely wonderful basses - undoubtedly my favourite of the modern Js. There's something a bit different about the way that a Celinder sits in the hand - I'm not sure what CC has done with the ergonomics but these basses have a wonderful feel either sitting or on a strap
6. I've just received some strings from John - perfect as described, well packed and very rapid delivery. A very easy and friendly deal - an entirely trustworthy member of our community
7. Brian, you are a star...just go for it...the pain of consequence is transient, the joy of AER it timeless!
8. The Amp One should be destined to form the other side of my baby stereo rig. However, given that I only play to amuse myself, a bedroom stereo rig is probably a bit silly (15 years on the periphery of the music biz - or in the centre of failure therein - resulted in deep disdain for 'musicians'). Hmm...silly but tempting... Buy with complete confidence and buy quickly. In my opinion, probably the best bass amp ever built. For comparison, I have an Agi db750, a db680, and an Epi ul502 with an SF2 (the big stereo rig) - to me, the AER sounds better than that lot if not, perhaps, as loud. The AER is a fabulously expensive amp, but it's a fabulous piece of kit - peerless and genuinely gig-worthy despite it's diminutive dimensions. Binkybongo is also entirely trustworthy and a creative polymath of immense talent (invoice despatched).
9. Hi Nick - what's the build year for the Brown Bass? Also, does the bass have the 'Stanley' taper (1.5" to 2.15")? I notice that it's a non-adjustable nut - I'm not sure if this is common with Brown Basses (I'll check but you may know). Truly lovely - what a bass to forget (absolute centrepiece of nearly everybody else's collection!)
10. What an absolutely lovely burst - very rich and tasteful. I too love the transition from heel to neck - beautifully executed. It looks more poly than nitro to me (but it's not easy to tell from on-line photographs). The birds eye board is fantastic too - the figuring looks extremely dense: nice to have the 1.5" nut (for me at least) - unfortunately, my Fodera had extremely wide spacing.
11. Does the bass come with the SD Antiquity II pickups (from Rory's post, it appears that these were the pickups that were originally supplied with the bass)?

MB1 Feedback

Delayed feedback (oops!) but another fantastically easy and friendly deal with Martin - only a small thing (lead) but small things are so important. Trade with absolute confidence, MB1 is the man
13. Excellent price for a 659!
14. I need to stop looking at this - hypnotic
15.
Thanks jazzyvee bit the problem is that almost all members are in US so the must Kay about 500$ and may more for shippings plus taxes and fees about 1000$
I'd try Alembic Club - fees in US should be minimal as this is a US built instrument so re-importation should be tax-free (I think). Another bump for a stunning bass
16. Cheers Paulie, lovely instrument - fantastic pre in these and marries beautifully with Coppolo pickups. Great price for an exclusive bass
17.
Hi lozbass....yes i didn't see your post because it lost at the bottom ....yes the knobs are volume/pan/filter and a Q switch ....the windth as I remember it's 36" but I dont remember the space.....the bass is really as I bought it today and the sound it's just PERFECT but as I wrote I sell it for cash but I believe in a fee days i'll find the money and I'll keep it ....
Thanks - as I thought - I hope you can hold on to this - a truly lovely looking instrument (and I can imagine it sounds immense!)
18. I've always loved this bass - does it have a standard P or J width nut (or something different altogether)? Great price for an AC with these specs (the DN board and nitro finish are very expensive options!) - good luck
19. Repeat post as this probably got lost at the bottom of page 1: Looks like fantastic condition for an '88 - the finishing on Alembics really is about the best I've seen. What's the nut width and string-spacing on this - it looks reasonably tight - maybe something like a J at the nut? Indeed, the bass has a bit of a J look to it - does it balance similarly to a J? Also, what are the electronics - is it a blend and filter arrangement? Good luck - a lovely instrument!
20. Absolutely love this! Of no use to me whatsoever but I'd certainly find a space for it

22. One of the nicest basses ever to make an appearance on these pages IMO
23. Further to the above, when are you going - I may have a little job (with modest remuneration) if you're interested?
24. The Gallery - prince among bass shops! If it's a nice day, come out of Euston - assuming you're on the train - and walk back on yourself up Eversholt St. Turn left onto Plender St and walk up to Royal College St. Turn left and the Gallery is around 400m up on the right side. As others have said, buzz to gain entry (then be amazed!)
