I bought this around 4 months ago and have used it twice in my office (with headphones) - the unit is entirely as new and unblemished. It will be supplied with all original packing and the manual. I suspect that anybody with an interest will know exactly what the unit is and what it does - certainly among the best studio DI boxes with some gorgeous pre-sets (at least 4 of the 6 are wonderful for bass). Ultra high-end gear that will delivery fantastic results either in the studio or live. Reason for sale is simple lack of use - I'm involved in an office move and will have less space - and to be honest, I really don't need pro studio gear in my office. The cheapest that I can see these is around £439 on DV247 - most places are charging £460-480. I'd say £290 is probably reasonable (cash on collection in central Manchester). I can ship to the UK or Europe no problem - probably around £10-15 for the UK. I don't have images at present, however, I'll try to get some up soon - this one is the silver version - there's an image here from the Thomann site (mine looks like this - entirely brand new): http://www.thomann.d...no_dipreamp.htm Any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

I have flagged this........magnificent equipment and yes a bargain as well....
Haha! Hi Brian - stock-up whilst en-route! Bump for a great piece of gear at a great price

Just received a lovely Sei from Scooby - exactly as described, beautifully packed, and super-fast delivery - great conversation too. Utterly reliable and a credit to the BC community - thanks Pete.

SOLD - that was quick - gone in around two hours. Thanks for the PMs and the interest (I hope that I've responded to everyone) I've had this for just two weeks, and I think it's around 6 weeks old in total. It's remarkable - a stunning hand-built exact replica of a '60P from BC's Wes Steed. Slab Brazillian rosewood board, Lollar vintage P pickup, nitro finish, light relic, flame maple neck, pickguardian celluloid guard - just phenomenal in every detail. Enough hyperbole. I should have know better - I can't resist a gorgeous bass and I'm easily seduced. I only really play medium and short-scale basses because of a wrist rotation issue. Why on earth I thought I could play this is a mystery. I bought the bass from Kevin Lindsay (the original purchaser) for £900 - which was an absolute bargain! - and it will come with the covers and a very nice, robust ABS case that were supplied from new. I'm selling at £875 just to get the bass out of my office and thus stop the daily reminders of my own stupidity. If there's one good thing to come from all this, trying to play it has made my short-scales feel like toys. Collection in central Manchester is much preferred. I can ship at cost within the UK (but it will take a day or two to arrange). I may even be able to deliver to London Euston (maybe next Monday or Tuesday, 5th or 6th March) with a contribution to train fare (though travel is by no means assured I'm afraid - a lot is work-contingent). Here's a link to the original sale thread (Kevin, I hope this is OK) http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry1537928 Also, a link to the build thread - this is honestly worth seeing - probably the best £875 worth you'll see anywhere. This bass is honestly worth way more http://basschat.co.u...s-build-thread/ Some photographs (sorry, I only have the iphone with me)

The larger hiscox might fit - I have my Gibson ripper in one and its massive but thin. If you can get over to Manchester you can have it for £30 as I hsve a full flight case for the Ripper. I cant remember the catalogue number for the large hiscox but will post if I can locate it.
Did you find one of the others more comfortable to wear?
No, the Mono is the most comfortable for me (of course, a lot depends on personal dimensions/posture etc.) As Doddy says, straps are very adjustable on the iGiG, however, I didn't find the bag as comfortable overall as the Mono. There's no doubt that the iGiG is a great bag, overall, I found it a bit bulky. Last I saw, the iGiG was available at Bass Direct
Unless anyone comes back and says that the Mono bag is really uncomfortable to wear on your back for any length of time, then it's get to be the one for me.
No, it's actually fairly comfortable - I'm very weight and balance sensitive. The Mono tends to sit quite high on the back (and is long) so be careful getting on and off trains etc.

Difference between J & P chrome pup cover
lozbass replied to Roland Rock's topic in Accessories and Misc
Thanks for this - I've been playing Jsand Ps for years and honestly hadn't noticed there's a difference inthe covers! -
It would be good to know the type of bass - beware, if it has a sting anchor behind the bridge, standard short-scale strings might be a tight fit. This is the case with a couple of mine and I use medium-scale strings. My two favourites are d'Addario nickel rounds (I use light or extra light guage), and TI Jazz Rounds. The d'Addarios are probably better for rock and the company supplies stainless steel rounds if these are to your preference. On the issue of long-scale EBs, I'd avoid this - it depends on the type of bass but you could experience problems at the tuner end
-
d'Addario nickels are a nice, bright string with a soft feel and decent compliance (especially, the lighter gauges) - they're probably not as growly as stainless steel. D'Addario are also reasonably priced for a high-quality string

I've had most of the new technical bags - super-quick review: Protection Racket - cheap, strong, well-padded, decent straps, reasonable weight Protec Contego - reasonable price, superb construction, roomy, brilliant (partial hardshell) protection, good straps, a little heavy (my favourite overall apart from weight) Mono - expensive, strong, fancy features, roomy and long, great straps, good protection, very light (the only full-size bag I have at the moment - I've retained this one) IGiG - very expensive, strong, very fancy features, roomy and wide, excellent padding inside and out, excellent straps and highly adjustable, heavy I'd honestly use/recommend any - if protection is a priority, it's the Contego, if it's weight, then the Mono (if it's looking flash, then the iGiG!)
I've decided to go for un aged and let it age by itself as I'm pretty sure I will be keeping this one for quite some time.
Good decision IMO - I just picked up a Steed Precision relic and whilst it's a beatifully built bass with extremely clever light relic work on a lovely nitro finish, I can't help thinking that a NOS finish would look nicer (I'm seriously considering a re-fin!)

I play almost exclusively short and medium scale 24s and spend a lot of time between 5th and 22nd frets...I don't play in a band (and don't want to - just the very occassional gig when pushed) so simply whiz/fumble around for my own amusement. The benefit of short 24s for me is the very tight spacing on the board. Most of my basses have very narrow nuts and taper too. I picked up a 20 fret P a few weeks ago and was amazed by the stretch (it's probably done me good - the short/medium basses feel like toys now, and extremely easy to play)
