1. I'm afraid it's over. Remember those 70's local news films of George Formby fans playing their ukuleles in some hotel room in Lytham St. Annes? That's us!
2. Loving the Statii with bindings...
3. Tried a Jazz USA standard in PMT Manchester a couple of years ago. Nut slots cut badly so the string spacing was off for the lower frets. Plus the standard strings (Fender) had such high tension, coupled with a high action, it was almost unplayable. Yours for £750... kerching!
4. > Warwick - Love or Hate? Love - specifically a nice Streamer off Warwickhunt years ago... Forky sound with bags of extra low-end if needed.
5. Yeah but now you have to have a re-fret every 5 gigs!
6.
It's cheap and probably poor quality but please lets not get into that debate, but something as simple as this I suppose would be my best option http://www.ebay.co.u...190705823610%26 With this I presume I can just play along to whatever I've got running and if my stereos turned on it should all come through that, or plug headphones in to please my wife. I can just double sided tape it to the top of the PC tower.
Worth a go for fiver. Regards your other question, just use YouTube or MP3s as normal and you'll need the software for the interface running as well to control you volume. Windows volume controls for mixing and matching your levels.
7. Oh I see. Well your problem is your levels which is what the interface & software take care of... Best I can suggest is get a Line 6 UX1 and leads and leave it set-up for whenever you want to practise. Cost about a one'r...
8. Erm I'm not familiar with the x3 live but you should be able to plug that into your PC, use Line 6's Gearbox software to amp & model your sounds and play along side YT, MP3s or your DAW - as I do but with a Line 6 Toneport in place of the x3? Or am I missing something here with yuor question?
9. It's a beaut'! As are your other other basses... fair price too
10. Good news... ish. The double trio got pretty mushy so I hope they sort the arrangements for a seven piece!
11. Hang on... what happened to his signature Warwick - the Les Paul alike with its guts hanging out?
12. Great tone... (string spacing looks off to me but what does that matter?)
13. Not happy with some of the advice so far... tapping!? WtF? No - finger-style, metronome on a slow tempo, 'do-digga' rhythm, and slowly play the F#s cleanly. Work up the tempo gradually.
14. Bring back Gastank! Real musicians jamming with the house band which included Rick Wakeman. Here's John Entwistle playing (and singing!) Twist & Shout - previously played on a thuddy Hofner, with the most ludicrously sproingy Alembic tone...
15. Are you missing a subtle message from your girlfriend here?
16. I liked the album a lot at the time but looking back, it was the point when the keyboards went from effective atmospheric background within a guitar-led trio to effectively a quartet with the keyboards taking up a lot of the sonic space. Plus they were those really fat (phat?) analogue synths of the day which ate up bandwidth. The space and economy of Moving Pictures and Permanent Waves gone. And it got worse... Power Windows anyone?
17. Good heavens that's a beaut' Acres of punchy j-bass frets and a ramp...
18. That's a beaut'... You just know that's going to be as punchy as hell... What's going on with extended complicated strap button though?
19. "honk with a pick"? What a load of bollocks. It's a recipe for banality.
20. Couple of threads on this previously so search around. I would add to the above:

Methodical posture and bass position - avoid sharp wrist angles
Hydration - have a bottle of water on the go pretty much all day
Cod liver oil & Glucosamine
Agree with formal medical diagnosis although this can be a tortuous process if mis-diagnosed.
21.
Deidre Cartwright!
She was guitar. Henry 'King Thumb' Thomas you mean...
22.
Depends if he has ketchup or brown sauce on his chips...maybe.
You're right! Maggie Philbin - Brown Sauce Percy Jones?
23. God no. No disrespect to the guy (who's more than competent) but this is 5th generation regurgitated Jaco harmonics and Louis Johnson funk best heard 25 years ago. Hadrien Feraud and Thundercat point to the future for me (even though there's a fair bit of Jaco in both of them). Drummer is really good.
Warwick could have chosen this beauty in their SC design competition ..
Nice... better than the majority of single cuts. The Ritter looks nice too but probably monstrously expensive. Most fugly must go to Warwick's turdy Streamer SC thing...
25.
Why would anyone buy a guitar if they didn't intend to play it?
There's loads of Jimmy Page Gibsons in glass cases in corporate offices that will never get a single note played on them... Welcome to the world of investment. You can't play gold but it's the #1 commodity...
