Shiny pedal, great synthy octave sound, one or two octaves down, poly mode, in-built distortion, and a through-option - versatile and popular for a reason. Reason for selling is that I don't use it. It works, looks shiny and comes with original box. £65 including P & P. Thanks.
bump
2. Okay my turn My main band is called Lonesome Cowboys from Hell, based in London we're a five piece, we call it "Psycho Country" but I think "Punk-Oldtime" would fit better - or would it?? maybe dark cabaret country... - Calum F. Kerr - voc / perf - Tim Flitcroft - guitar, ukulele, accordeon - Billy Smith - fiddle - John DeVolle - drums - me on --- gut bucket bass or, more recently, double bass http://lonesomecowboysfromhell.com/ Then I play in a band called "A Band", that's somehow a noise-experimental-jam band of 50+ members (!), some say it's avant-garde, I play mainly fretless BG there - great fun And I am frequently dep'ing for Madgalena in Rex Nemo and the Psychic Self Defenders, a new 5 piece band that I think has a bright future, where I'm playing fretted BG - more of a rock band; there is some stuff somewhere on Youtube, where we play the Supernormal Festival (crap PA so rubbish bass sound on these) Cheers guys loving it
3. Can only say these are great basses. Light weight, easy to play seated and standing, cheap as chips, and sound great. Only the bridge is probably worth changing, Schaller 4D really turned mine into a top instrument. Have a bump.
4. Hi, you all know these: EHX micro q-tron - £35 EHX bass balls, made in Russia, with the distortion switch - £35 thanks for considering
5. PM's replied and decided for the trade against the Wah - thanks for the interest everyone and good luck with the GAS
6. MXR Blowtorch, runs on 18V, has lots of knobs for lots of different fuzzy sound, great if you are after that sound but I found out I am not, so I am selling it on. Works fine and comes in its original box. £55 is what I paid and what I want for it, P&P included. Thanks.

8. Well as for a good beginner's double bass, it seems the German/czech manufactured ones on Thomann.de are a popular solution and good value for money.
9.
If you are after a 3 hole bridge, the Schaller 3D is much better IMO ped
+1
10. Godlyke, I have a bass that I love, then there was this weired buzz, i took the nut and the every machinehead off the headstock to find it, it turned out to be the logo that wasn't glued on properly ... shame branding for what is an instrument beautifully crafted in Japan!
11. I see you got sorted so good for you... I have tried a couple of picksups, K&K Bass Master, Realist, and a cheapo Shadow. Surprisingly, I like the latter the best. Stuck it in the bridge jamming it in with a cigarette butt. No joke, sounds great! - The K&K is geat because it has a pickup for the fingerboard too, and has this great versatile pickup that you wear on your belt which is great if you like your slapping, and you don't have to bend over to change your sound. Recently, I bought a reduced burglar alarm kit from Maplins for a fiver and used the sensor to pick up a guitar - sounds fine, seriously! Now to be honest, I don't believe the pickups vary as much in quality, as they do in price... Much is in the preamp etc. So in the end, it is all about what sounds best for you, every bass, every set of strings, every preamp, every amp and every player is different - more so than the pickups IMO... you must experiment.

DIY Effects

Hi just finished my first project: fuzz factory, from musikding.de, where i bought the kit. It was my first attempt on something like that and I must say I'm very pleased with the result. Camera got nicked so no pics yet. What surprised me was that drilling the enclosure cost me about as much effort as soldering the circuit board. Fun pedal, but works best for higher freqs though I find - my mates electric fiddle was awesome with it. I wonder if there is a bass-equivalent, or a mod?
14. This is a piece of cake to repair i swear, just unscrew the socked and see for yourself... there will be some more screws inside that attach the wires to the socket, unscrew them, take the socket to maplin, get another one, re-screw, done. Make damn sure the right colour wires attach to the right screws though - before taking anything apart, take photos!!!! Maybe the socket is actually good and all that happened is one of the wires inside has a bad contact. All you need to do is use a screwdriver. I am sure it would take me 5 minutes to fix. But on second thoughts, if you have doubts, then don't do it but have somebody who knows about these things - i mean, it is high voltage at the end. If you go to the high street guy, make sure he is honest and won't charge more than 10 quid for that job... BTW my dad is an electrician so he taught me lots of things, among them this one: "if you are not 100% sure, don't do it! And if you can do it, don't let anybody else know! You can fix these things for yourself when nobody looks, but you don't want to be responsible for somebody else going up in smoke!" So according to this, pay a professional
15. Adam Black is manufacturing a line of gits and basses called "ASBO" now that's truly what everyone wants to have...

Yamaha BB415

+1 for the bridge. I fitted a schaller on my 4string yamaha rbx and WHOOOOM it is a phantastic bass now.
17. There was a lot of discussion on this subject here before, but I can only recommend the Minimark, weight is 10kg, the shape is perfect for one hand transportation, the thing is loud beyond believe on its own, has xlr out, and with an extension cab it is awesome. If you can get you hands on one anywhere, compare it. I take mine pretty much everywhere except bathroom kitchen and bed and I never have any worries amp-wise.
18. bump - great tuners - make me an offer

20. fantastic bridge, i put one on my old yamaha rbx and it's a monster now. i love the 3d adjustment possibilities. money well spent!!!
21. Hi I just started playing in this new formation, originally was asked to dep for the bass player. Now she's a newbee on bass, playing a strat style Squire short scale. Now it looks like it's going to become a two-bass project (yes seriously we like odd stuff down here), her playing the short scale and me the long scale (Yamaha with a DiMarzio passive P pickup and Rotos through Markbass). Sounds interesting already as the two instruments really sound words apart. Now I start wondering about short scale basses. My suspicion is that where the A on the long scale is at 110Hz, the short scale centers around 220Hz? does the short scale actually relate to the long scale like a cello to a double bass? I am posting this since I can't find much on short scale basses here (maybe I've been missing a thread)?. What do you play, how do you string them? And then the question for us is of course how to make an interesting sound combination with a long scale and a short scale bass. We'll be trying some odd effect things out, like routing the short scale through an envelope filter while the long scale plays sub. Ideas? Experiences? Cheers!
22. Selling this combo for my step brother. It sounds really nice with its 15'' speaker. IMO it would be a nice thing to give it a permanent home in a rehearsal studio or on a stage. A bit heavy, but still portable - personally, I'd fit two handles and carry it with a mate then no problem. Solid thing it is, and in excellent condition. Has headphone out and can handle 4 ohm extension cab. More information on the Internet. Pick it up in central Hamburg (yes, that Town in North Germany) for, well lets say €80. My brother is going to put it on the 'bay soon, but I thought I let you guys know before that happens as the thing sounds good.
23.
I know a man with a lovely Godin A5 in the UK , I have played this and it is absolutely lovely. Superb on board pre-amp. Godin A5 Will be much less hassle than an import. You can expect about 21% - 22% + a handling charge. Paul
Would the situation be different for parts, as buying the neck, the body, and the pups separately? Guess so each transaction under a critical threshold value?
24. Set of mechanics in black, new unused and in original box. 12mm diameter, top ace quality, two left two right. £40 posted.
