1. Many thanks for your reply, I'll get the amp serviced, better safe than sorry :-) Cheers
The SVTII manual says: There is no 'Amber option' according to Ampeg. It sounds as though the amp was struggling to decide whether it was in 'Standby' or 'On'. It could be that there was a supply issue and you'll not see the problem again - for peace of mind I'd probably get it looked at by an amp tech.
2. Hoping someone can help with this query..... playing through my Ampeg SVTII the other night at a gig, done first set, put it on standby and the lights on the front went to red, which is obviously normal, however when I turned it back on for the second set instead of green lights I got amber lights, the amp worked fine and the light eventually turned to green after about a minute, question is, do I need to worry about this? does anyone know what it could mean? cheers
  3. Thanks mate, I used to have a Walkabout Scout combo 1x1, loved it but not quite loud enough, I've heard the Carbine is plenty loud! I do like the MB stuff, quality :-)
Bump for a nice rig. I can vouch for the M6 carbine combo, awesome sounding..... You won't regret it. Cheers Thebassman
10. Are there any Kramer bass experts out there? I have one of those aluminium necked Kramer basses, probably made early 80's but I don't know much about it and was wondering if anyone on Basschat could offer any help, also I'd like to sell it because it never gets used, so if anyone could give me some price guidance that would be great too. Pictures to follow (when I get home from work ) here are some pics...... I forgot about the missing volume knobs!
  11. I only bought a 5 string cuz my covers band at the time wanted to do comfortably numb by floyd which needs that low B, haven't looked back since, a 5 gives you more scope for playing things in different positions and those extra low end notes when needed, I suppose going back to a 4 now would make me look at how I play differently, I might give it a try one day :-)
  12. Hi Chris, Yes it's a nice looking & sounding bass, it has a wide range of tones from funkyness on bridge pickup to a big warm sound on neck and everything in between! I've not tried another MM next to it so can't really compare, I just know it has plenty of scope for some nice tones Thanks for the bump......I'm new on here, what are bumps?! Col
I really like the look of this bass I have a stingray 5 with single humbucker and piezo pup's. I have never played a stingray 5 with 2 humbucker pup's , Please can you tell me roughly what the tone is like? is the bass tone more versitile having the 2 humbuckers ? Chris Ps. Have a bump on me.
13. SOLD Musicman Stingray 5 string HH (the beasty with the double humbuckers) all black, looks rather cool & sounds brilliant, really nice action, good condition apart from the odd very small knock, been used and gigged lots but looked after. It pains me to sell this bass but it's not getting played and it's just too good to be sat in it's flight case!!! (case inc) I'm looking at offers around £850.00, me n the bass are in Leeds, pick up would be great but willing to travel within reason, or could arrange courier at your expense. any questions then PM me.
