1. Anyone got any old, dusty computers with sticks of ram they could donate please?
2. I've got a 410L for sale: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=129588
3. Price drop...
4.
+1, it would have saved a few people a few pounds in the past had other BCers been similarly willing to discuss problems with specific instruments, amps, or members (not saying the above scenario relates to any of these categories). Although these threads are uncomfortable, IMO that these things are in the open does build trust within the community.
+2? I agree, wholeheartedly. I've had nothing but excellent trades/sales/purchases on here, but good and bad should be documented for all to see.
5. Head provisionally sold. Cab still available! Go on, make me happy on my Birthday
6. Some interest, but still for sale.
7. This is a call.
8. Ian bought my Sue Ryder bass. Excellent communication and prompt payment. I highly recommend you sell something to this man.
9. Small, enticing, price drop...
10.
What's to know? Imagine your bass through a powerful and transparent amp going through an articulate, high quality cab with great projecton. Then imagine trouble free load ins because of the size and weight.
Well, there's an endorsement!
11. Not even a lowball offer yet...
12.
Here Ben, are you gonna enter a pic into this month's photo thread? You started it & left me carrying it on for you! It's been fun having such a thread.
Sorry, my camera fell out of my bag, at the gig Paul mentioned actually and started to fail a couple of weeks later It's in the shop at the moment getting fixed up. Only cost me £168 I'll return to the photography fun soon, you're doing a fine job in my absence!
13.
That might have worked, Ben. A few hundred miles round trip, but an interesting drive nevertheless. As it happens I have now stuck a deposit on one of Alex's finest, so sorted for a cab. And I think I might be after one of the tube pre-amps. Incidentally - a while back you posted a link to a YouTube of your band playing 'The Chain' - I showed it to one of my bands and on the strength of how good it sounded and how ell it worked with a small band we are going to give it a go. Thought I'd mention it.
Haha, I'm flattered! It's a good song to play, I particularly like the vocal harmonies and it's got to be one of the most iconic basslines around! Good luck with your light equipment hunt! I'm going even lighter, just my bass and a Sansamp in my pocket! (oh, and a full PA in the back of my car...)
14. it's a shame you're the other side of the country, I would have suggested a potential trade for the Jaguar you're selling for my Markbass/Shroeder rig.
15.
I'd like to hear what this sounds like. I'm after a lighter head/cab.
You're not driving past Liverpool any time soon are you?! Maybe I'll try to record something...
16. Thanks for the polite comments! Just to clarify, this rig *probably* won't kill you, but you should be careful all the same.
17. Officially for SALE! Who wants lightweight power and tone?!
18. SOLD.
19. Hello! Does the mixer come with the rack mount ears? Cheers, Ben.

SOLD

So, I bought this to use as my downtuned-to-C guitar, but that little project isn't going to happen now and I'm going to stick to Jazz necked basses in the future. It's the navy blue one, with a maple neck. Came with all the "candy" including gigbag, keys, strap and lead which are all still with it and unused. I'll stick some photos up if anyone wants to see it. Asking £55 delivered or £50 collected from my house in Upton on the Wirral.
21. I'll give it a go at our next gig, by when we'll have an SWA1501 Sub to compliment the tops, which should help things even further. I actually meant to get in touch with you, Beedster, regarding your wedge monitor request. I'm a member of the Speakerplans.com forum and was offered some LEM powered tops for £400 a pair. They're 400 Watt 12" Polycarb jobbies, made in Italy, but pretty well regarded. I could pass the details on if you're interested. Not sure what your budget is, £200 per wedge is fairly expensive.
22. We've just bought some Mackie SA1521 active PA "Tops" which I've been messing about at home DI'd from my Sansamp to test them out and I loved the sound I was getting out of them at lower levels. Lots of clarity and plenty of bottom end, so I decided to DI straight in at our next practice which I've just had and I'm pretty impressed to say the least. At practice levels, which are fairly loud, my bass was clear and punchy. They could do warm and round, or with a quick tweak of the Sansamp, gritty and aggressive. I've probably got £900 tied up in bass amplification at the moment, if I were to sell that and buy another SA1521 as a (large!) wedge monitor, not only would I be £4-500 better off, but I'd have excellent tone and power FOH and plenty of stage volume for monitoring both Bass and my vocals... The never ending cycle of equipment choice continues...
23. Well regarded on here, £250 or best offer is a decent price... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Acme-Low-B-2-2x10-ba...6#ht_500wt_1156
24. Ok, I thought this was pretty much sold and bought a Schroeder 410L to replace it, but unfortunately, the buyer had to pull out. So, it's a Mesa Boogie Powerhouse 4x12. It's a little scruffy, but nothing major: 1000Watts at 4-ohms. It does what it looks like it might do, shakes buildings with endless power. I really, really, love this cab, but we're gigging every weekend and the band have been whinging and whining that it's too big, so I've bought a Schroeder 410L to reduce my onstage and in-van footprint. It's tall and heavy, tall is good, there's nothing like bass at your earlevel when playing, I miss that with the Schroeder. Heavy isn't great, but it has wheels at the back and handles all over the place, including the bottom! £400 for an 8x10 killer is a good price, I think. Collection from the North West (Wirral) or I can meet you within about 100 miles for the price of go go juice! Thanks for looking!
