FS/FT: Aguilar GS 410 cab, and 3U Case

We've been borrowing my school's PA for gigs, a Peavey system with 15" Subs, 12" Tops and a CS800s power amp, which is lovely. Just for 3 vocals, Kick and an overhead. We really need to buy a PA for ourselves though, so I've been tasked with spec'ing and sourcing the gear. We've probably got about a grand to spend, I would think. I'm just wondering what you guys use...I like the idea of Active 2x15, with horn, full frequency cabs as it'll save time and space over a modular sub + top setup, but are the single cab solutions any good? I've seen people say that they're not tall enough and the top end will get lost in the bodies of the front row? What cabs/amps do you use? What would you use if you had the choice?
Haha and us. We have it in the locker just in case but never on the prepped set list. Variety is the key, we sometimes play Peaches by Presidents of the USA to blank looks and other times everyone's rocking??
We play Lump and find that about 3 people REALLY love that we played it, but the rest look on bewildered! Who cares, we have fun, money's in the pocket and we mostly get asked back.
-
We've got a "Summer of '69" rule. If it gives anyone in the band the "Summer of '69" feeling, we don't play it. We play the 2nd or 3rd best known songs, seems to have gone fine so far, we've played 8 gigs with our current repertoire and been asked back to every pub. We just choose our pubs carefully, make sure we're playing to people who want to hear the stuff we're playing. Here's the stuff we're playing: http://www.thelowtones.co.uk/#/repertoire/4540807533 There are a few "standards", but only ones we WANT to play!
You'd have to cut off half the logo but it's nothing a bandsaw couldn't handle I'd wager!
I doubt a bandsaw would go through it, the neck's at least 48 miles thick!
-
My Navy one just arrived, along with a gigbag, strap, lead and allen key. I'm at work, so can't fiddle too much, but it seems well put together for £60, although the neck width is a bit industrial compared to my Geddy Lee! Obligatory rubbish camera phone photo...

Just got this response from my Maple board request:
I will change the delivery address but not sure if there are any maple fretboards left. I will request one but if there are none, would you like to proceed with the order?
Fingers crossed!
-
What the hell, Navy with Maple just ordered.

We play it, the recording's in E flat but we play it in E. Ace song to play!
Designed for killing people! The best tone i have ever heard, with enough power to discipline guitarists. So full of sound, full of tone ,that i don`t want any other amp for the rest of my life, worth every gram it weighs
Now that looks seriously cool.
When you say missing - (I've never seen the back of one of these) - is it not even designed with tilt back wheels in mind? That would be madness on a big cab irrespective of weight. A heavy cab with tilt back wheels and runners on the back would be easier to move than a light one you actually have to carry.
It was designed with no wheels whatsoever! So they're not missing in the sense that I lost them after taking them off, they were never there in the first place. I don't see it as a big cab, to be honest. It's much more manoeuverable than the SVT-410HLF that I had, and that has wheels.

Just a quick feeler to see if there's any interest in this as I quite fancy the Mesa 6x10 listed. This is lovely and lightweight, plenty loud with my Genz 6.0 and can do hi-fi sparkly or round and bottom-y with ease. I can carry it around by myself, as long as there are no stairs in the way! So it's fairly mobile if you have a bigger frame, like me. It's in great condition, almost 10/10, just a bit of carpet rub as you might expect, but it should tidy up nicely. No nicks or dinks whatsoever. Cost me £500 all in, so that's what I'd like back. I'm based in Upton on the Wirral, just over the water from Liverpool. Link to the website, which has the specs etc. Headlines are 1200 watts RMS at 6-ohms. Markbass 106HR

Hello! We're just starting to acquire live gear and monitoring seems to always be on the back burner, but I think it'll massively improve my singing. Anyways, came across this and though it looks like a great idea: http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/B205D.aspx Anyone tried one? They're only £122, mega cheap! Ben.

Hello! A friend took some video of us at our last gig in O'neils - Liverpool on Sunday, so I thought I'd stick them up here... Bear in mind, this is probably my 6th gig ever and I'm still pretty nervous, I was just trying to keep it solid, no flair whatsoever! Anyone else find it weird seeing yourself on video? I've noticed that I have this horrible smirk on my face most of the time, stand like a right weirdo and make silly facial gestures to people I know in the crowd?! I must smile more!

Hello! Just a quick one as we've just put the first version of our new website up. Needs some work (full and high quality band pictures, video, audio and maybe some more info) but I think it looks quite tidy. We're trying to keep it as clean and user friendly as possible! http://www.thelowtones.co.uk Let me know what you think!

Hello! Bit of self promotion... Our band, the Lowtones are playing in Leeds tonight at O'neils, the big Irish bar thingy. It's the first gig I'll play for actual hard cash (unless we're completely terrible!) If you're out and about and like classic/alternative/modern rock (AC/DC, Led Zep, Foo Fighters, Wolfmother etc etc...) and fancy laughing at me attempts to play bass and sing simultaneously, come and say hello. I'll be the big dude with silly hair looking nervous as hell. Ben.

Got me one of those VT Bass pedals, so this is redundant. Nice pedal actually, I particularly like the blend function which I'm missing on the VT, but the VT just nudges it on tone. I used it to give just a slight "valvey" edge and it fills out your sound, I find. They're cheap anyway, £28-30 new + postage, so... £23 including UK postage? Mint condition and boxed.

First album is awesome! Probably due to the fact that Josh Homme, Brant Bjork, Nick Oliveri and Mark Lanegan all feature heavily. I'm gutted I missed her too, saw her on my Birthday in 2004, the last time she was here in Manc Academy 3. She's in Europe until mid-December, I might have to plan a weekend away...
