Very well indeed thanks sir! Sounds like your a busy chap indeed!! Often wondered what happened to her! Well I hope she's getting the use she deserves, would love to buy her back at some point!......wonder what I could get for twins on eBay...?.!...and I don't really NEED both kidneys
-
Chris, off topic, but wondered whatever happened to the "banana" precision?! ;-)
Did you ever manage to sort the neck? We could have sent it to MDP guitar restorers!....he'd have filed the nut, bees waxed it and got that neck to within a knats cock of being level ;-)))

Oh god.......http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/J-Bass-a-dual-tone-pickup-type-J-bass-in-metalic-blue-/190775365513?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item2c6b190f89
....still at least he's pointed out that the nut is at the head end......Jeez....I hope to god he's set the neck to within a knats cock of level.......
Really cannot understand why this didn't sell first time round??......and just noticed this....
Play like a shop guitar?: No... loads easier to finger now: full set up.

Is this bass still for sale?

How far from weymouth are you?

I'm truly gutted, it's only the fact that the starter motor has gone on the car that I'm having to do this . Bloody rubbish.
It's on eBay now but if any BC'er wants it then make an offer and if we agree then I'll end the listing.
Yours
Gutted of Enderby ! -
bump!!

Surprised Master Luthier/Setter-uperer/bodge master/tosser M D Phillips hasn't already pounced on this. Beeswax it up, re cut the nut, alleviate the concavity of the neck and then flog it at £30,000?????
-
First thing I do in the morning is grab my coffee and read all the MDP threads, I then spend the day inanely chuckling as remember little snippets! No matter how much of a tw*t he is, he's damn entertaining! Even if it is unintentional !!! Right I'm off to file the nut off the kids £10 Toys R Us guitars, give the necks some concavity, slap some beeswax on them then stick em on the bay for £700 each. They are just like the ones Eric Claptons nephews, next door neighbours mate might have played.

Brilliant Mr F!!!! Nearly spat my cocoa out when I read that :-)

It's like the Python "Fish license" sketch
"that's not a knopfler, it's an encore with the word encore crossed out and knopfler written on in crayon"!!!!!!!!!!! -
Oops !!! Been moderated!!!! Apologies ! Won't happen again !!!

Does anyone remember a guy from eBay a while back called Dave who went under a name like Harley Benton guitars or some such? Well he used to do basses up and flog them but they were really good. He made me a jaco copy years ago, defretted neck, beautifully filled in, great neck, real pleasure to play and still gets good comments now! Cost? £125.!!!!! I can't believe this M D Phillips guy gets away with the money he charges for utter sh*te! Forget my previous "cock" comment.....he's an utter ****!
Can't we all pay him a "visit" en mass ?!!' ) -
ha ha !! Wasn't too sure what the mods would allow!!! :-)

So.....looking at his "strat" replica....
"The jack socket only worked intermittently, but it needed me to increase the internal routing and find a shorter socket plate screw because it was coming through and poking the tip of the jack plug."......so you basically put a smaller screw in???????
"I polished all the fret-wires with wire wool, and re cut the zero fret nut grooves to give light easy chord playing in the first few frets.
The truss rod operated well, and with that and some bridge adjustment it I have optimised the playing action.".......What??? so you can't play chords after the 5th fret?, ah well he's optimised the playing action so thats ok!
What an utter cock. -
He MUST be aware of the basschat community's discussions of him?! We should hijack every one of his eBay adds with a link to these threads !!!!!!!
He still looks like Peter Sutcliffe ! -
I actually meant Peter Sutcliffe
Easy mistake !!!!!!! -
Yeah but I bet he didn't Lower the action to recut the original nut to
Then re set the action thus not having the nut re cut and the neck straightened due to a curvature similar to that of earth seen from space hols dancing the fandango and charging 10x the original cost....eh...eh...did he ??? Well ...DID HE?
I need a lay down . -
Holy mother of God.........lost for words!!!!!!
-
He looks like Stuart Sutcliffe too.
-
Bumpity bump !!!
Anybody want this for £18,000? No? But its so obviously worth it...
in eBay - Weird and Wonderful

Mark D Phillips made this from scratch...
Brilliant!
However...no mention of ANYTHING being within a gnats cock of being level!!!!!
.......strange!
