  1. More importantly, what provenance do they have?
  2. Crikey that was quick. Now Andy's simultaneously laughing all the way to the bank and kicking himself for not asking for £25k.
  3. Speaking as someone with a weakness for vintage basses, all I can say is thank God I'm not a guitarist if that's how much they cost.
  4. Sorry, no photos yet because it’s currently in my in-laws’ garage; extricating it would entail: * Having to have a conversation with my in-laws * Being reminded about all the other stuff we’ve still got at their place and asked when I’m going to take all of that away * Fixing their wifi / TV / email / printer * Making sympathetic noises about the size of their gas bill * Finding something else on which to dump a pile of car engine parts So, it’s something I’m psyching myself up for. Anyhoo, it’s probably about 25 years old, something like that. Has had very little use and still works perfectly. Ported 1x15”, single jack socket on back. I fitted castors on the bottom so it’s nice and portable (ish). Specs from datasheet: 400w / 4 Ohm, 68.3h x 62.2w x 43.8d cm excluding castors, 70lbs. No Peavey badge on it because I took it off; partly because I didn’t want anyone to know it was a Peavey (I was a gear snob well before I could afford to be) and partly because it was an accident waiting to happen. To be fair, it did come in handy for self defence once when we played at a martial arts club and things got out of hand... but I digress. Also for sale are my Hartke HA7000 amp (£150) and Peavey 210TX cab (£80). Just want the lot gone so make me an offer, happy to sell the whole rig for £300. I should point out I'm only reasonably confident it's a 115BX. It certainly looks like one, I'm very confident it's the Scorpion rather than the Black Widow speaker. Here’s an artist’s impression of it in use:
  5. I've just decided to have a clear out to part fund buying a nice little Barefaced two ten. This should just about cover the postage. It's an old thing as you can see and has been well used, but has never let me down. Specs according to the datasheet: 350w / 4 Ohms 42.5h x 62.2w x 43.8d cm 58lbs One metal corner is missing, the fluffy material they used to cover it is moulting not unlike a beloved old dog, and I took the Peavey badge off because it was going to have someone's eye out. How anyone can resist is beyond me. Also for sale are my Peavey 115BX and Hartke HA7000, if you're after a cheap loud rig.
  6. Part of my clear out, I figured why do I need one of these when I’ve got an original Mutron III on my pedal board? Because, as it turns out having just had a play with it, it's a really nice piece of kit. Great condition, the internal duck is still alive and well and quacks and burps quite happily when you stick a jack plug up it. Comes with proper UK power supply, copy of instructions, and stupid wooden box made to be big enough for the pedal to rattle around in but not quite big enough to fit the power supply in as well. Everything works as it should, no Velcro on the bottom, very good condition generally apart from a bit of corrosion along the front edge. Happy to post of course.
  7. Thanks! As I said, happy to take offers over the asking if anyone's uncomfortable about getting too good a bargain.
  8. It's high time I had a clear out and so first up is my old Hartke HA7000, which I've had for probably about 25 years. Basically it's two HA3500s in one (checks maths and nods) with a crossover. It works really nicely bi-amped with my rig comprising a 2 x10" and 1 x 15" cab and equally happy with just the 2x10" for smaller gigs. Everything works on it, it's in a rackmount case (which is knackered to be fair) but I've still got all the edges, corners and feet should you want to take it out of the rack. Comes with the instructions as well! I've had a quick look and can't find any others for sale so it's hard to put a price on it. I'd say it's a lot of amp for the money and it's in great shape so I think £150 is fair but I'm open to offers and would definitely consider accepting more if pushed. Happy to discuss shipping options if required but collection preferred. I also have a couple of old cabs which I'll be putting up for sale too at some point, a Peavey 210TX and a Peavey 115 so keep an eye out if you want a cheap loud rig!
  9. There was a ‘78 Antigua Jazz on there recently for £3k, apparently it had been in its case for 35 years and looked pretty unmarked. I didn’t even realise I absolutely had to have it until it was too late.
  10. Sooo, definitely not a bargain but, perhaps not a terrible price for a decent ‘71P?
  11. Absolutely. It's high time we got Vol.2, 1972 onwards!
  12. I bought Geddy's book. Ended up costing me thousands.
  13. I saw this today and it warranted a second look: https://reverb.com/uk/item/67439380-fender-jazzbass-1972-sunburst Only because the neck is clearly dated '72, but as far as I'm aware they didn't start using pearl blocks with maple necks until mid 1973. This neck must have been hanging around a for a while. Well I thought it was quite interesting anyway.
  14. How about targeting the folks who buy them just to hang on the wall: Fender Dentist Fender Accountant Fender Lawyer Fender Marketing Analyst For Big Digital Startup Nobody's Ever Heard Of (potential neck dive problem with this one) Etc.
  15. Not sure why you'd want to touch this for £10k when for only £1,200 more you could buy that refin that Mr Dream On picked up for £3800 at auction a week prior. https://reverb.com/uk/item/66798899-fender-precision-bass-with-rosewood-fretboard-1966-sunburst-made-in-usa-ser-no-1xxxx6-includes-hard-case I noticed he'd also bought a couple of Gibson Les Pauls in the same auction and was trying the same trick with them.
  16. Wow. I think the seller should change their name to The Dream On Vault.
  17. I was watching them too. The white 62P was about £5500 including fees, someone got a good deal there if it's as described.
  18. Love it, but it's just crying out for a pointy headstock!
  19. I thought for a moment there that someone had nicked your instrument listing tool.
  20. If this was a fretless I’d be all over it. Oh, and a different colour. 5 string.
  21. I expect they're all busy putting the finishing touches to the new website.
  22. I bought my friend an elephant for his room.
    He said “thanks”
    I said “don’t mention it”

      Still giggling at this. :D

  23. I've got an early '80s SVT head and 8 x 10 cab. It is, as Walshy says, absolute heaven (to listen to). I generally get the same feeling using it, that I get when I come inside after a walk in the cold, and can warm up by standing with my back to a really nice fire. Toasty.
  24. You're right, I hadn't spotted the "original case" bit in the description and it definitely looks like a refin. I think on balance I'd prefer to pay extra and buy from a reputable dealer, just to have a little more peace of mind in the provenance. Not that I'm looking!
