1.
Glad to hear this - I just bought my 10 year old daughter this bass (the value package actually with amp, lead and strap) for £70. It's not arrived yet, though
To be fair I did spend a bit of time setting it up (including shimming the neck) to get the best action, but it was playable out of the box, and well worth the money.
 2.
ok, ok...so i only just checked the link i posted /waves hands around quickly, points out of window/ look, the goodyear blimp link fixed
and there was me trying to work out what joke I was missing! (edited cos cider and fumble fingers and iPads don't mix)
 3.
I think his christened name was Alexander but he was called Howard, According to the Wiki thats what it seems anyway...
Ah, ok. 's funny, I've got a mate called Howard but who hates his name. I bet he'd be amazed to hear that someone had chosen to take on that name!
 4.
If that's Alexader Dumble in the video then it can't be the same Dumble who built the $50,000 amp can it? He looks about 35 (prime age for a trailer park serial killer...) to me.
If the amp was built by HOWARD Dumble, and that vid is of ALEXANDER Dumble, then it probably isn't the same person.
 5. looks more like a rack to me.
 6. I got my son the very short scale Harley Benton off Thomann, for the princely sum of £60. For the money it's absolutely fantastic. Incidentally, it's also got an FSC sticker on it, which made me laugh when Warwick introduced an FSC bass and charged megabucks because of its certification.
 7.
Mmmng, mmng, sorry, I just gagged a bit.
Er, what colour was the bass before you gagged over it?
Hello everyone! I have these two fine basses for sale, please post your questions. I live in Sweden so think about it if you're interested. Warwick Corvette STD Fretless €700 Windmill J Modern Custom €700 Both basses are in excellent condition.
Nice! Put some black beauties on that Corvette and you'd have the ultimate stealth bass!
 9.
Sorry, I am not interested in exchanging for another bass.
That's an odd comment to put in an ebay listing.
 10. Yes, it's an established problem that's been commented on the Warwick forum a few times. The official recommendation is to always buy tapered strings. The unofficial recommendation is to file the tailpiece a bit to make the groove bigger. My personal recommendation is to play 4-string
 11. Somebody could post a question asking if the amp actually works, because they'd heard that it had recently packed up.
 12.
...If I like the neck and the sound I'll probably buy one second hand ...
Bear in mind that the necks have been quite different over the years, so if you like the neck of a new one, you may not get on with a second-hand one, and vice versa. The sounds are probably more consistent though.
 13.
I'd assumed it was just because it weekens the joint, that's what I remember from electronics classes at school anyway.
That's it; paul_5 was just explaining a bit more about how it weakens the joint.
 14. Another very impressed viewer here! For 4 months that is absolutely stunning.
 15.
???
The world famous Florin Barbu is in Sibiu, isn't he? I think he quite likes Warwicks ....
 16.
Aha! I just realised which bass this is.
Flo?
 17. Good news!
 18. This doesn't seem an outrageous price, and they sem to have it in stock: http://www.musik-schmidt.de/Warwick-Robert-Trujillo-5-String-BLK.html
 19. Does look a bit flashy, but I suppose that's what you'd expect from Grand Master - Flash.
 20. Very interesting! It shows what elements made the song special. And it makes Lennon's genius a bit more understandable - the way he tried so many different approaches to the song. Thanks for posting this!
 21.
Figured it out...and feel like an idiot ...the back was loose a cheep fix at least
Great result!
 22.
[s]Watt[/s] what...... if one light bulb (it's not a bulb - it's a lamp!), what if one light bulb was a 30 watt - and the other was 60 watt? Eh? What? Still not twice as bright! Or .......... is it? ........ and should it be wired in with speaker cable, or instrument cable?
30 watt and 60 whats? In that case you'd need to check the impedances, otherwise you might get magic smoke coming out of your bass.
 23.
You see, this is just the kind of question to fill my newbie head with doubt again If you mean are all the strings relatively in-tune at different locations on the neck then I think so, if you mean something more esoteric then I don't know...
Yes, that's exactly what I mean. So now, not only are you a competent truss-rod-tweaker, but you also know how to check the most important side effect. Pat yourself on the back!
 24.
I don't know. Maybe light bulbs weren't the best example as the production of light is a inefficient process involving much heat as a by product so there are too many other variables in the equation. Its the old candlepower unit that made me think of it.
Hmm, candelas and lumens and stuff? Hmmm, now you've got me unsure. Anyway, thats definitely a situation where perception comes into play, which was why I picked up on it. As for the spuds, if you got some extra dense ones, then that would definitely be double the weight but not double the volume. (Although maybe that's just double the mass, not double the weight .. I dunno, that's physics, and I'm tired ...)
 25. Has the intonation coped with the change of strings and truss rod tweak?
