1. Great stuff, thanks Happy Jack.

It's always nice to be able to trace the lineage of an instrument (even if for only a comparably short time!), especially one this old.

    Would this be said blurb?

Step back 45 years to the sort of bass your dad (or maybe your grandad) learned to play on.
That glorious tobacco sunburst finish is a true picture, it really is that rich. The bass is all original, and has picked up a couple of marks along the way. There's a none-too-obvious blemish on the front and a repaired hole on the back. The neck was re-set in 2007 by the top Hofner man in London (Andy Gibson, who does all of Music Ground's and Macari's Hofners).

Sound? Woody. No, very woody. No really, I mean seriously woody. Can easily deliver a truly superb, dark dub sound but switch in an instant to a classic Beatles tone.

Also some more photos (If these are the ones, thanks Happy Jack. If not, I hope the owner doesn't mind, please let me know if so)

  2. This was bought from Clarky back in November (thread HERE) - I believe it's gone through a few pairs of hands within the Basschat community. Reasons for moving on are much the same as the ones listed by Clarky in the link above so I'm looking to move this on for the price I paid for it also bearing in mind that I purchased a new Hofner hard case to go with it (Thomann link)

    Price drop - £425.
    Sensible offers also welcome.

More info in a previous FS thread

  3. Bought a couple of months ago from this very forum but isn't quite what I'm after.

Comes boxed with the manual and I'm after what I paid for it - price includes signed for delivery.

Renault Trafic Diesel T1000, from 1995 or so. Fitted with removable coach seats for up to 8, including driver; we normally roll with seats for 5 and all our gear (2 x half stacks, bass amp and cab, PA, drums in cases, instruments, stands and drum rug. It drinks about 10 litres per100 kms when fully loaded. Only one 'grumble': no power steering, but the wheel is extra-large to compensate somewhat; it counts towards a fitness regime.

Cheers! On the look out for something similar but insurance for myself being under 30 and the fact that we'd have to pay top dollar to go into the capital is proving a problem at the moment.

I have been known to wangle my 3 people, my 3/4 double bass, 2 guitars and 2 mandolins in soft cases in my Renault Clio on occasion but, as stated above, it ain't comfortable!
