Generic hard case for bass - fit's pretty much anything. A bit battered and scuffed, but structurally sound. No keys for the locks I'm afraid. Any takers at £20? It'll have to be collected really, I imagine postage would be a bit steep for something so big. In Kidlington (Oxfordshire), sometimes in Aylesbury (Bucks) and occasionally in Basingstoke (Hampshire). In Kev's defence, he's been a gent and he's been fair and honest throughout - but I've decided to pull this from sale, purely because I think I can find the bits and maximise what it's worth. This is mostly my fault due to my lack of knowledge - I should have checked the market value before offering it up to be honest. Past dealings really ought to be kept private in my opinion, so it bearing in mind the sale is off, it might be best for everyone if this thread is deleted and we should all go to the pub instead. Mine's a bottle of Stella. Cheers to all.

Anyone want this? It's working but missing a few bits - the battery box cover is missing, the nut on one of the sockets has disappeared. It works, but the socket with the missing nut is making an intermittent connection on occasion - probably caused a dry joint on the board. It's REALLY tatty but still sounds great if you like that sort of thing. Pics here: http://picasaweb.google.com/paul.stansfield No idea what it's worth, so I'm open to offers. It's quite heavy actually, so I imagine shipping will be ~£5+
Of course what you could do is buy a Warwick Streamer Stage I bass for say... £531.11 ( http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...A:IT&ih=017 ) and then sell it for say... £985 ( http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Warwick-Streamer-Sta...1QQcmdZViewItem ) after first keeping the better quality case! This person isn't doing anything wrong but if it does sell for anywhere near the asking price it will at least mean that Warwick prices are recovering
Look on the bright side - if the prices keep going down, at least your hunt for that 90's SS1 is getting cheaper.
I sent Rob an email about the nuts and bolts thing, didn't hear anything back but wasn't too bothered that I didn't an immediate reply, then in the post this morning I got a nice bag of nuts, bolts and washers from Warwick in Germany to put the thing together. Can't fault that - that's top service
Warwick service truly is world class. I picked up a secondhand Fortress One a few weeks ago which had a non-standard trussrod cover and a missing saddle securing screw. An enquiring email to Warwick as to whether I could buy the parts got a reply from Hans Peter Wilfer himself (Mr Warwick) telling me he'd posted a trussrod cover, saddle locking screws and saddle height screws and a catalogue to me free of charge.
come on guys mine is the cheapest on here!!
Yes, but mine's the prettiest! It's definately not the time to be selling Streamers - I think I might just sit on mine for a few months and try again. Best of luck selling yours. Dodge
THREE of these bad boys for sale at the moment?!? jamieperryman, CHRISDABASS and Dodge..... what's going on lads? why does everyone seem to be jumping the Warwick ship, I'd love one of these, been playing LXs for about 10 years now and have always hankered after a Stage I.... unfortunately I'm nowhere near flush enough right now, oh well...... good luck with your respective sales guys (Dodge gets the free bump cos he was furthest down the page!) - Dan
Thanks Dan, I'm certainly not jumping the Warwick ship - just with the recent arrival of an old Warwick Fortress and the imminent arrival of a 'vintage' 91 Streamer Stage 1, it seems a bit excessive to keep it. I'm not gigging at the moment, so I don't need it as a back up. Anyway, thanks for the bump - and for any interested parties, it now comes with a free hard case. Other than the worn pickup covers (and I'm trying to get some out of MEC), it's as mint as a virgin polo. Cheers

No idea whether this will sell here, but hey - you never know. Toca Elite Bongos (wood, not fibreglass) - comes with toolkit and skin moisturiser. Red wine colour, very good condition. They're pretty heavy, so I'd rather they were collected but will ship if required. £30 + shipping. Collection from Oxford Airport possible. Cheers.

Swap the 6L6's around - if the dimmer tube stays dim, replace it. If it's the socket that stays dim, take it to an amp tech. It's probably a failing resistor. Hum in an amp tends to mean the power supply is 'out of balance' - i.e. one of the tubes is mismatched some how. My guess is it's a failing tube. Cheers

Hi guys, Just picked up an old 94 Fortress with the Dunlop recessed straplocks. I've not got the strap parts and I can't find anyone who's selling the recessed straplocks just now. Anyone know if the other Dunlop straplocks work with the recessed buttons? I can find them everywhere! Cheers Dodge

Schallers used exclusively here, and I've tried 'em all!

I've tried a whole bunch of monitors in my time, I currently own some Mackie 624's and some Alesis Monitor 1 Mk 2's through an Alesis reference amp. They both do different things well and they suit me. I can also recommend the Tascam VL-X5's - they're a whole lot of monitor for the money, absolutely superb value for money. Dodge

Warwick Stage I BIN £750... it's pretty, it's cheap!
Dodge replied to warwickhunt's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
That is SO cheap - no idea why Streamers just aren't selling just now. -
Ped I went to Dunelm Mill or somewhere and bought a couple of microfibre cloths for 79p. I use them on the gloss finishes on my bass and guitars and they are very good at getting rid of all the mucky fingerprints and marks without leaving streaks and with no need for any cleaning agents. You can stick em in the washing machine as well
I agree, they're good. But they are also very good at picking up dirt - get anything gritty and hard caught up in those fibres and you'll know all about it.

0000 grade steel wool would be my choice. I use it to clean my Warwick SS1 and my MM Silhouette guitar. Just don't rub too hard and keep it well away from the pickups! It shines up frets nicely too. Do you treat your neck with anything like wax, oil etc.?

who plays guitar and was there a transition to bass?
Dodge replied to john_the_bass's topic in General Discussion
Bass is actually my second instrument after guitar - I'd been playing guitar for 14 years before I picked up a bass! I also play the bongos, some extremely sketchy keys and of course, the recorder. -
