that's a monster of a first bass! sorry i'm of no help... but shouldn't a status graphite have a graphite neck?

Standing in the Shadows sound track on Spotify
Colledge replied to OldGit's topic in General Discussion
A million miles away from my usual aural repertoire, but i'm trying to expand a bit so i'll give it a listen. -
i'd say a sansamp vt bass pedal will get you pretty close

i'm sure its not as simple as that, more likely since he put so much money into the legal pot, the family thought it right to let him have it under that agreement. to say thanks.

Advice on small light weight rig that can still produce good volume
Colledge replied to chrisasp's topic in Amps and Cabs
the ashdown lg's and superflies can be had for next to nothing and the lg 1000 has some real poke but i've heard mixed reviews. theyre very much love or hate affairs so i'd say try one out before you buy. -
Advice on small light weight rig that can still produce good volume
Colledge replied to chrisasp's topic in Amps and Cabs
what style of music do you play? lightweight heads are now reasonably priced and theres a good range of decent styles. cabs however havn't come down in price so much. with cabs you still have to pay a lot more for a light weight cab that is of equal volume to a heavier cab. -
i too found the mag series amps to seem underpowered (i used the mag600), that could be the problem. but at the same time ive seen people using them with great results. Usually pa subs don't have a very broad freq range and you could be missing all of those mids that bring your bass through the mix nicely.
It appears some people have not a clue on the precision required to get a speaker to do what a speaker does! The chances of success with glue or duck tape or anything else must be a million to one.
speakers are alot more hard wearing that you might think. i've seen people running high powered subs with duck tape on the cones, bottle tops for dust caps and allsorts. no, you won't get brilliantly clear hi-fi audio, but its definitely worth a try, even if its just for until new cones arrive. also if i remember rightly, people like Tony Iommi and the like used to poke holes in the speaker cones to get their sound, seemed to work fine.

no, on that combo the minimum impedance of the external cab is 8ohm, so you would only be able to attach one of those cabs. (the amplifier minimum impedance is 4 ohms, the internal speaker will be 8ohms and the external speaker is 8ohms making the whole impedance 4ohms) but i'd highly advise you to not go for a small 30w combo and a larger 250w extension cab because for that kind of money you can get a much better and more powerful setup on here.

sounds horrible, but i'd be tempted to utilise some duck tape and see how that holds / sounds.

i've known a few people to have small cuts on their fingers before a gig (non instrument related) and use superglue to seal them up so it doesnt effect your playing. works well, sounds dodgy... but cyanoacrylate (superglue) was developed to seal wounds in vietnam originally.

i'm staying at newcastly uni for a couple of weeks next month so i'll make a point of having a look down, never know, i might end up spending my whole stay there.... and all of my money.

also if your bass is active, have a go with a new battery. i've had some horrible noises coming out when running low before.

its 8ohm, perfect partner to the v-type combo i just acquired this morning... if i had a van/estate and a bigger house. edit: just double checked and it doesnt actually state the impedence, but i bought it under the pretence of it being 8ohm and the newer 1528 cabs are all 8ohms so i guess this one is. the only reason i'd doubt it is that running at 8ohm its alot louder than my previous 4ohm ashdown setup.

ive done a similar job with motorcycle decals for one of my dads friends, do you just want a vector for the separate words that you can scale/ place yourself or do you want it as a clone of the full pedal to scale? i'm on my laptop atm but could take 10mins out tomorrow to do it. rather than trying to find a close font, i prefer to just use an example in a decent resolution, select the lettering and refine the edges and convert the selection into vector form.

thatnk, but no thanks, i'm getting a trace combo tomorow wich will probably do me amp wise, hence the sale of this and my ashdown amp. the only cab i'd really ant is something small and lightweight or a suitable trace extension cab.... maybe, not to sure. i have no idea about the cab if i'm honest. the only place ive seen one for sale is on the bassemporium in america where there is 2 http://www.bassemporium.com/item.php?sku=6440/129 and there isn't much info there either. it seems pretty old and well used though.

this isnt me in the vids but i think this guy needs a lot more attention that he's had so far. i know it won't be to everyones taste but i really like it and i know that a lot of time and effort has gone into the music and he's got some killer tones going on. http://www.youtube.com/user/thescubacult i know theres a couple of talkbass users that have seen this guy, but thought i'd post up here to see what ya'll think. i've tried communicating but he doesn't seem very active lately.

there are lots of people (the same kind of people who enjoy listening to Michael Angelo batio) who will see that and think, "wow he plays realy fast, he must be the best bassist in the world!"
-
okay, he doesnt qualify as a bassist. horrible.

i don't know what band it is or any info other than what i can see in the pic http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=4521...id=406098561266 its obviously a ric copy, ridiculously thin neck, 4 pickups, stereo out. anyone know anything about it? i'm stumped edit, also just noticed the weird cab configuration behind him, looks like either 2x15, 2x12 or 2x12, 2x10
