What he said although beware photos. Also look at what else the seller may have for sale and compare backgrounds in the pictures There seem to have been a spate of items where pictures & even text have been lifted directly from Gumtree, so if you hit two or three of the above a quick search of Gumtree doesn't hurt. There was a guy who got flagged up here a couple of months back who was a very new eBay registrant with negligible feedback, but who was auctioning a lot of high value guitars & basses. A quick search of Gumtree London in that case found nearly all of the items there as well but clearly being offered by many different sellers dotted all over London

Until recently mine was 1 x Wal in Wal semi flight 1 x 6u rack with BOD Pro xt, IEM transmitter & 2 Behringer effects racks 1 x small metal case for the rest of the radio bits (transmitters & receivers) plus leads, batteries, throat lozenges 1 x metal toolbox for screwdrivers, soldering iron, and the floor tuner my guitarist uses (and actually offered to buy off me a couple of weeks back so that I am no longer his tuner roadie ) 2 x small light boxes - because no one wants to play under a 40w bulb, but none of the others are willing to store / transport them (lazy bustids ) 1 x A frame guitar stand but after my recent GAS the Wal has been semi retired and the MM SUB5 tends to come out to play together with 1 x Markbass CMD121H I still seem to be last out of gigs despite that fairly small list, but that is probably because 9/10 times my gear is stuffed at the back so I have to get it in early on set-up and cannot get to it straight away after until keyboards set up in front of it have been moved. That and the fact that none of the rest of the band seem able to write so I have to deal with the venue for cash etc
It would be interesting to see what the valves actually are.
The manual for the Vintage Tube Overdrive VT911 - HERE - says
BUGERA 12AX7B vacuum tube
-
A couple of other forums I am on have "Currently Listening to" and/or "Latest CD" threads where you can do just that and perhaps point others at stuff they might otherwise not have come across.
-
Do they actually have a valve in them. I could not be sure reading the Behringer page or am I misreading
This high-quality classic tube overdrive pedal is based on a hand-selected 12AX7 vacuum tube
- my italics. I can see what appear to be slots on the front to allow air to a valve, but that does not mean there is one. EDIT: OOPS! yes it does. Just re-read the manual which points to where the valve is inserted. My apologies for doubting them!! Otherwise, I have nothing against Behringer stuff as such, I have two in my rack after all Then there is the VINTAGE TIME MACHINE VM1 on whose page it says
This product is currently not available for sale in the United States and Canada pending verification of compliance with applicable technical standards and regulations
and presumably the outcome of a lawsuit from EH

Friday. Well I hated the sound but the crowd were good & I just got the following email so it can't have been that bad!!!
Hi there, Have to say what a brilliant gig you did at the RED LION Stubbington on Friday 7th, Sound was great, new guy added a nice touch good crowd as well ,excellent night .Hope you all have a good Christmas.see you in the new year.
Did it as a 6 piece with some harmony guitar bits (worked out quickly before we started) as keys was available as well as the stand in guitarist and there was enough room. Got some nice comments about my playing too (which was nice) but I'll take them with a pinch of salt as it was the end of the evening and I know I had some major "sticker" moments. Also got "he's one of the best backing vocalists on the circuit" so I know he was pi55ed But all in all as my drummer just said - after I forwarded the email - comment/reaction & emails like that make it all worthwhile Roll on 2008

Red Lion Stubbington, with an overfull complement as I think we have both keys & the stand in guitarist. Lucky its one of the larger stage areas!!!!

Posting eBay bargains... the problem.
WalMan replied to warwickhunt's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Completely agree and I think this has been raised a couple of times. Pretty sure I will end up backing out of an item tonight because of this very issue.
Groove 5? I was sat watching it thinking "I really don't need it but it does look a bargain". Only two bids though (neither mine - sanity prevailed) & a cheap price on the face of it even though it had been flagged here. I suppose it depends on what it is, whether you re really on the look out, and whether it really is that early Fender no one has cottoned onto that you might want to take a speculative punt on - like someone we know around these parts!! -
DOH! Sat & watched it & realised that GAS was REALLY not that bad - and, speak it softly, I bought one of them there lektricky geetars for recording @ the weekend anyway
There's another one now as well... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Status-5-String-Groo...1QQcmdZViewItem A bit like buses, none for ages and then 2 at once.
Anyone bidding on this before I have a rush of blood & join in on something I really ought to leave - 'cos I really shouldn't!!
Definitely! Must admit to being very tempted...
Looking for a cunning plan myself

Nice one Nik. I must get to see you one day, and may even have another go at getting a gig at the Elms. Been told its got a bit more rocky recently. We did it a couple or three years ago just prior to Christmas to the PRS man checking up on their licence and what we played . Nightmare Just back from a killer night at The Fountain in Chi (always a good crowd singing along there). And the landlord was so happy ('cos he was busier than the Slug & Lettuce next door all night he reckoned) he upped the cash completely unprompted I wish they could all be like tonight!!!! Decent landlord, noisy crowd - including some loverly ladeez - MARVELLOUS
Quite a difficult situation to be in mate. As my own combo weighs about 100ib, I thought I would get one of these: http://www.primrose-london.co.uk/truck-bes...there-p-17.html I remember trying one whilst helping a friend move house ages ago and it really did cope with stairs well. Having just had a mega operation on my back I will not be buying one any time soon, but Kiwi is I think, so maybe he will be kind enough to do us a review. ped
Looks good, but doesn't look like it packs that flat. I used to have a great little fold down trolley that folded down to no more than an inch high but would carry my Trace 122H combo plus 3 metal leades cases without breaking a sweat. I am sure I saw them in a local DIY store not so long back for about £20. Mind you that that is b'all use to you in Portugal.
Those fold up sack carts are cheap as chips these days. Move all your kit with one of those plus they have a thousand and one ther uses.
I would +1 the foldaway cart. When I found mine quite a few years ago now it was about £50, but I have seen exactly the same thing in Focus / B&Q / Homebase for under £20 recently
(why would you put a white diMarzio on there?!).
Because at the time you didn't realise these things were going to become worth so much? I still have nightmares about the brutality I so nearly inflicted on my Wal many years back
-
£2000!!? You could get 2 new ones for that.
Have you checked what else he is selling!!

I threw up in the middle of tonight's gig...
That's 'Mustang Sally' for you !!
Almost experienced what you did too tonight. Show must go on etc., so I drag myself out & say "don't bother with a mike cos I doubt vocals will happen for me tonight" but one gets put out & in the heat of the moment I go for it. Got through some, but there were more than a couple of occasions when I went for the mike, took a deep breath, then had to back out fast for fear of chunder city Good news is 3 days of mainly honey & lemon drinks and paracetemol + last nights gig seems to have sweated it out. Still bunged up tho, just not feeling quite so cr@ppy. Hope you're over whatever yours is soon!! -
Break a leg!!!! I hope your work don't hear about it though, like the situation with RoadDog.
I think it may have sweated some of it out. Don't feel quite so cr@ppy today. HURRAH!!! As for work, I shall probably catch up on some stuff this weekend and have been doing bits pieces at least one of which I know has saved one office probably 2-3 days of someone typing details into software we use by adapting a bit of VBA I wrote to build import files for the software from data in an Excel spreadsheet, so not too guilty.

Gigging tonight, thankfully just down the road at The Crown but feeling guilty as I have been off work for the last couple of days (well logged in rather half heartedly from home) with man-flu. Think I may pass on the backing vox tonight as it will be even more like a strangled crow than ever. Hey ho. Works work, but a gigs a gig after all
