1.
lets see the picture!
Well it finished up as Actually it ended up as £340 last year - HERE
 2. I think we made a couple of hundred last year, so why not dive in again. Funnily enough I was only thinking of this last night. Last year was in honour of the droopy tache I had on the EP cover 30 years ago. This year, dear I espouse the 'Charlie Chaplin'!?
 3. Nothing for months on end, then this week I have rehearsals with two different bands Sunday afternoon & evening (forgot MrsW & I were supposed to be going to an evening wedding bash as well - oops!) then I'm away for work Monday & Tuesday & have to rush back for another rehearsal Tuesday night, followed by gigs with one of the two bands, Saturday and a third on Sunday early evening ... and I have also agreed to get together with yet another possible band in the following weeks. I shouldn't complain, but AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!
 4.
I fuel that I like necks that are big chunky. I fuel the basses may be bit big heavy too though but.
Bloody autocorrect drives me mad
 5. looks like I should have held on to my two after all. less than £200 each including flightcases, mind it's going back a while now. When I got mine new mid 70's they were a cheap British option 'cos I couldn't afford a Fender. nice basses and I kept them for years but always fuel the neck was a big chunky
 6.
Lauged out loud in a couple of places. Maybe I'm one of those people who like crap?
You & me both Some people can perhaps get a bit too precious about stuff, favourite bands etc..
 7.
Booya! These are what I use, outstanding but do come at a price. I won't sugar coat it, they're £165 but are worth every penny. Dan
ditto, though I sometimes wonder whether my 17db ones are too much considering the years of abuse and damage done already in my long and noisy life. Suggestion was to put them in half an hour previous to the gig to aclimatise
 8. You could go midi controller -> laptop (if you already have one for other stuff) & soft synths with perhaps Sampletank Free that has a pretty good base set of sounds IIRC, BUT it is a nightmare of reboots if something goes wrong
 9. Yup I presume these clips have been ripped from something like that. Still made me chuckle, not having seen it before as I dont have the duvde
 10. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yxuw_ZzpVOw Just seen this. I expect it's been posted before, but who cares. Always good to see a band go that extra mile for the show. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQv8yXDTU68
 11. Good stuff, and makes me realise how much more I missed than I thought I had! completely missed the bass pedals and could have had a compare and contrast with mine - though thinking about it I only brought the synth unit and keyboard of my rig and not the PK5. Ah well, there's always next year
 12. ... but isn't that why we have the Hall, Reception, the Jam room, and the theatre? The:

Hall is for noisy
Jam room for jamming
Theatre for talks; and
Reception for quiet contemplation in the long hours of the raffle Actually that went much better this year with fewer & bigger and the Tombola that sadly failed to materialise due to time constraints.
Noise in the hall really didn't bother me. Then again I didn't unload the car, as there was plenty of BF & GB in attendance without mine being added, and spent most of my time in the other three rooms EDIT: this has probably been superceded while I typed
 13.
Hamster and I agreed we need a 48 hour day next time.
I'll still manage to miss something!
 14. Ah right ... got logged while on hols, ws wondering why it said I couldn't post. Chilling after tonights dep, so time to read the updated thread. First thing to do was attend the Bash as a precursor to the dep. Great do as ever. Well done all & good news re the proceeds. Arrived a bit late and decided with the amount of gear there, and the talks I wanted to see all that came out of the car was one bass for a bit of a noodle in the jam room - actually thinking about it two as one went in the For Sale corner to no avail (hey ho). Good to see so many faces new & old, but as ever there was too much to see and too litle time - not a complaint re organisation just a wish that I had a couple of clones to be in more than one place at a time, though as one of me is substantially more than that the required numbers of me probably as well not eh? Thanks Nik for bringing a bass & the synth home for me. The evenings dep wasn't the most salubrious and either bringing them in (no room for a start) or leaving the quaking in their boots in the car all night were definitely not optios I'd have been happy with - I was starting to onder wether the basses I did take were such a good idea, I really need a cheap back up I don't need to worry about for such gigs. And again thanks for a great day. Bass all day & night Saturday & 4 hours of a prog r/h tomorrow make the prospect of work on Monday after a two week break less & less appealing
 15.
Gates called. fingers crossed. see yo there

Safe journey! See you tomorrow
Back in the room. See you all sometime earlyish I hope! A load of stuff in to go in the car. How much I unload depends on what else arrives. Nighty night all
 16.
Raff fle Prizes 02. Orange Crush PiX CR25BX Bass Combo Practice Amp (donated by WalMan) Tombola Prizes 01. Pearloid Tort P Bass Scratchplate (donated by WalMan)
The Crush via Clarky two years ago & the plate via whoever won it last year and forgot to take it xExcuse the parlous formatting & spelling from abroad on this damn tablet!! See you there - flights willing BTW Dave,if you're bringing any cables I could do with a speakon:speak on cable about standard 1m and a stereo cable with on right angle jack of about 20 feet (or nearest metre equivalent)
 17. I must be mutton (well I'm pretty sure I am) but my current setup is the best I've ever had (IMO obviously) and gets compliments for the sound in all the bands I've played with recently and from a number of other BP's. Streamliner 6, or more recently the TC BH250, into the Barefaced Super12T. Sounds marvellous, takes up little space & doesn't break my back. I have a vintage Marshall Superbass 100 that does sound lovely but it weighs a frickin ton & is too old & fragile
 18. It was out of the ordinary. Was closed most of the day last year and many sat looking at the verge for most of the day going nowhere. It's not been that bad any other year
 19.
For sale is my GB shuttle 6.0 head. As I'm sure you all know it's a really great piece of kit, however I am mostly using my P bass these days and I'm just after something a little warmer in character. Ironically the Genz has too much clarity for me right now! £280 collected. Happy to post at buyers expense.
Blimey is this all they go for A Streamliner will do you some lovely warmth. Chalk & cheese to the Shuttle.
 20. Dep at a new venue in a new town for the band. Went OK but hardly anyone there but WAGs. Got set up and the PA amp blew a fuse so it was all a bit fraught on the set up - not for me though, bass, lead, amp & cab. 30 second set up. Remembered the words to All Right Now for the first time but I felt my vox were a bit off at times. MrsW reckoned they were fine (but what does she know ) Get up for the first set and the 'leader' says "Have you played 'How Long' with us before?" Thinks "I've never played it ... ever ... but I've heard it so how hard can it be?" Turns out the answer to that is 'not very' in fact I'd go so far as to say a piece of p155 TC BH250 sounded good and more than adequate for a fair sized room. Next up ... prog r/h this afternoon, holiday, SEBB the day after I get back & another dep with the same lot as last night that evening. Happy days
 21. Annoying, are there good reasons for the others pulling out? I know most people - well most I know anyway - work on a 'show must go on basis' but sometimes that's just not possible.
 22. If it were free tomorrow I could give it an outing to Bognor, but I suspect the logistics of getting it to me and back will make that unworkable.
 23. It's been going through changes (and if you've never played there is a bugger to set up in). Apparently the new manager is leaving the 'lease available' boards up all round the building 'til he has made the changes he wants to and is ready to relaunch, but I believe it is all a bit up in the air and definitely worth confirming before you travel.
 24. Nope. Hampshire last night. I think Nik was out & about but it's a bit late now
