1. Should be OK for this. Is there somewhere I can plug the car in? Not sure what if anything to bring. You've seen most of my stuff, but I have just added a Gen3 Big Baby II to the roster and just swapped out the Roland bass pedals for a McMillen 12 Step so could perhaps sling those, the DSIMoPho an amp and a couple of basses in the Mono bag
2.
Calling all the Heroes is a great song, especially the proggy live version.
Indeed. I keep suggesting to my proggy lot that we cover the live version from 'When The Lights Go Down" as a set closer epic including the segue into the end of "Once Around The World". Sadly it keeps getting bypassed from the list of new songs It Bites have to be one of my favourite bands (both the original and reformed versions) along with The Tubes & Spock's Beard.
3. Tried one today with a 5 string Ray. Works well down to the low B, BUT - using it with the blend fully across to just effect for a retune/pitch shift without rtuning the bass there is a strange sound artefact. Interesting with the blend set to mix, but not something I could justify
4. I have a set and a DSI MoPho mono synth (the yellow box on the floor in the pic) that I fire from the pedals of a keyboard in a MIDI chain. I had considered running a soft synth from a laptop and you might be able to do something with one of the IK Sampletank free modules via an iPad or phone, but as I have neither I couldn't say. The MoPho ended up being the simpler option with three banks of sounds and programmable - though I tend to only use two or three of the set patches 'Bass Pedals' & 'Tom Sawyer' (can you guess what the latter does ). The keyboard controller (Roland A300) also give me added range and some control over the MoPho, including patch changes if the synth is tucked away on the floor or back at the amp. Tend to run mine straight to the PA with foldback but have been known to use an EBS Microbass II as a mixer to the single bass amp - I need a couple of small cabs to be able to run the Streamliner & TH350 as dedicated rigs for bass & synth I had toyed with one of the Moog Phatty modules or the Minitaur, but the latter came out just after I got my PK5 and the MoPho did what I needed and I picked up cheaper on eBay I know of another BP in a three piece that runs his to a Roland module & plays higher range string washes & similar to fill some holes EDIT: Also FWIW after an exchange of emails with dimensions Roqsolid adapted one of their bags for me to fit the pedals. It is, or was listed on their site but I cannot immediately track it down at the mo. I had a soft case with added pockets for foam inserts to protect the pedals - though they are pretty tank like so you might not be bothered.
5. Anyone used these to ship? http://www.directcouriersolutions.co.uk/product.php?id=263 Looks reasonably priced, and unlike Citylink, Parcelforce, et al seems to insure musical instruments. I have to ship a guitar for my son, who's just moved out to uni, and the last one we sent ended up with a stupid claim from the seller that the guitar arrived damaged, even though it left in perfect nick & well packaged, and the parcel arrived undamaged that we negotiated down to £10 to shut up & go away re an alleged bent tuner from a starting point of £50 for a complete new set. PITA but it got it cleared though still annoying as we had been unable to get cover for the transport and the buyer was frankly taking the piss
6. I find these - http://www.herculesstands.co.uk/product/85317/GS402B%252FW/Floor_Stands/Mini_electric_guitar_stand - sturdier than these http://www.herculesstands.co.uk/product/85308/GS302B/Mini_Stands/TravLite_electric_guitar_stand Had the latter but it was too prone to bend. Got the former, which is still small, and find it much better, though I have lost a nut from one that I still need to replace
7. If you're going to the SE Bass Bash on 1 Nov I could possibly send my Tonehammer 350 up with Nik (as I can't make the bash now) if noone else was taking one. Loving it and it gets equal use with the Streamliner 6. The Aggie is a tiny amp with no loop, but tuner & DI outs, and sounds great with plenty of grunt
8. Oooh I say. Sorry to hear of you probs. For anyone else it's a great band, saw them at the Horsham open air festival year before last

13. From a looong time ago, in pre hipshot & passive mode on the Wal (before it was upgraded to Custom electrics) but I bloody love the sound on this Also the crafty detune on the fly around 4 mins in - so much easier with the Hipshot but not a bad retune mid song even so http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLw3UDJnVqk EDIT: Not sure why it's not showing in a play box now. I'm sure I used to just post the 'Watch' link & it worked in the past
14. Bugger! That's now three things I'm missing due to holidays ... still it's HOLIDAYS so it can't all be bad
15.
Tip of the day! Never wander off the set list, when you have tuned to Drop D, for the number you have just done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Panic and a lot of quick thinking. . . . . . . even that didn't really rescue me! Anyone else confess to this?
Get yourself a Hipshot. Flick. Done. Just been looking at a video from 89 pre Hipshot on the Wal & I noticed that at the end of one song where I wanted to run down to D in the final part of the song I just retuned as we went and pretty much hit it spot on ... well certainly spot on enough for live. Quite chuffed looking back at it (I am currently in major nostalgia '5H1T we were tight ...' sigh where did it all go wrong mode) EDIT: of course I have already been beaten to the D-tuner option/hint
16. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH CR@P! I am going to miss this after all as I have to go to the Wirral this weekend I think there's a Streamliner coming anyway, but I can leave the Tonehammer 350 with Nik to plug in if anyone wants a listen to that. I could also leave the keyboard, Korg bass pedals & synth if anyone wanted a play with that I 'spose. I'll have to wait for the SE Bash at the end of the year
17.
Yeah but maybe we played it badly! And then we play bloody Guns N Roses, Sweet blah blah... and everyone loves it.
Fear not. The punters sadly know sweet FA in most instances, just what they want to hear that every other band does Walked off a month or so after a car wreck of a first set dep (definitely NOT all down to me by a looooooong shot) as was told by most of the crowd how brilliant we were. That was a night I came close to giving up after, even though the second set got slightly better!!
18. Currently having fun with

Thunder - Dirty Love & Backstreet Symphony
Little Angels - Too Much Too Young & Way That I Live
Rival Sons - Pressure and Time (where the triplet loop kills me at rehearsal, but Saturday night just flowed)
Queen- Now I'm Here (and what possessed me to say over the intro guitar chug in cod strine "Kin ya till wut it is yit?". I 'spose I can't do that anymore)
Chickenfoot - Dubai Blues (easy but keeping the space and getting a bit funky with the drummer was good)
Probably not very difficult, and not well known enough (mostly) but with the right crowd in a receptive frame of mind bloody good fun. The Queen song in particular went an absolute storm as the second set closer DAMN was it fun & still on a little adrenaline/good gig bubble I've not had often enough recently. Now wait for my second gig report without the friendly crowd to hear the downside
19. First full gig with the new drummer, and the old drummer (who is will a great mate) was there as well, so the fact that it was a good night was pleasing. Aggie & Super12 sounding particularly wonderful with the L2500. Some new songs some old (very old for us for some) but all went well and with a friendly crowd was a great star for the new lineup. From a long layoff and a tail end of the previous lineup that got 'difficult' with pussyfooting around song wise we have got back to more what we're happy with and the fun was back again - noticed & commented on by MrsW
20. Unfortunately I sold my BH250 the day before I got the first email about these ... DOH!
21. I have a Streamliner 600 which is a great warm amp and have just acquired a TH350 for smaller gigs. Loving both of them even though I'm still getting the sound on the TH350 at the mo. Used the 350 for all this weekend's gigs and it was sounding nice. Think I should really be changing the Elixirs to get it fully sorted. Currently in the do I need to change them or not window

Not sure I really need one. Definitely for the Streamliner, as it has something similar built in already, but possibly for use with the Aggie?
23. Got the Gruv Gear Duo installed on the L2500's & Wal now for any with knackered shoulders who want a try & see how they work. Managed a 3 hour r/h Monday night & could still walk & function without painkillers the next day!!! So I'm loving it at the mo, even if it has worked out a tad on the expensive side. Health not wealth!
