1.
Remember that any mistakes are gone in an instant so don't worry about them.
Repeat any mistakes to prove that's what you meant to do Damn just looked up and saw my predecessor beat me to it Frankly a mistakes gone in a second (says the burk who forgot the words to All Right Now for the second night running ) and if the punters are enjoying themselves the only person who knows will be you, and the jealous bass player stood at the back of the gig wishing (s)he had a gig
2. You're not helping my 1 in / 1 out regime. I could probably manage this without losing the ClassicJ and it's the right colour for what I want..........HELP!!! Distance & collection is the only thing that might save me!!! EDIT: Oops and I've already worked out a potentially cunning plan for collection
3. The article says it's a max of 150K per infringment and he was done for 31 (out of 800 he says he did) so he's probably got costs to go ontop of that
4. Cheers. Yes it's a good bass that'll probably get an outing tonight. Just got a hankering for a P
5. It's an Alesis adat HD24 Fireport 1394 like THIS Works a treat and mahooosively quicker than the ftp route
6. AH CR@P Well perhaps that's saved me but I expect not
7.
Should get the individual tracks over this weekend (getting them off the H24s is a slow and boring prcess involving ftp - ) Then the real fun (for me) starts, as I turn them into finished pieces. Can't wait!
Si I have a Fireport that makes the machine like an attached HD if that helps in the future - and frankly as I can't remember the last time we used the machine I probably ought to sell it anyway. I got it after spending three hours transferring 16 tracks for a song that was no more than 4 minutes long off the machine by FTP the first time
8. I think MrsW might have something to say about that Fingers crossed for this month Premium Bond draw
9.
Most of our gigs will be just average size pubs and clubs, but occasionally we play larger venues where it's nice to have a bit in reserve to call on, and that's why I see this as the ideal set-up, as it's light and compact enough for the smaller venues, but when you need a bit more, it's there all in one box!
Sounds similar to mine, which was why I went with the lower powered one. The S12T is so efficient that seems to be more than enough. For bigger gigs I always have the back up of the PA. Be interesting to hear how you get on with the more powerful version.
10. So in the possible spirit of one in / one out I am tentatively looking to sell my Overwater by Tanglewood Classic J. Picked it up at LBGS 12 in a spirit of madness at the end of the day and it is a super bass. Nice slim fast neck and a good tone, particularly from the P at the front. I am/was really after a Precision so am considering moving this on towards that. The bass is only six months old (well it was when I first advertised it more like nine now & surely a suitable gestation?) and in good nick. I only have a lightweight Stagg soft case so collection preferred. I live between Brighton & Portsmouth and work in Guildford, so a meet within a reasonable distance of those would be fine. Looking for around [s]£290 £275 £250[/s] £240 / offers - slight price adjustment for the new(ish) year Photos will follow if I can get Photobucket to work - it's currently being a pain (Edit: Now sorted. Links below) Soundclips in my coundcloud account HERE there is also a pic of the bass there to be going on with
11. Oh my, if only I didn't have to pay the mortgage....
12. I hope you do really big loud gigs, 'cos I have the STM 6 & S12T and that's LOUD!!!
13. Perhaps it's something we could try to A/B at the SE Bash in Sept, even down to the Shuttle & Streamliner models? Like I said before I did that through my S12T in store before getting the Streamliner and the differene was huge.
14.
Thats just how I felt Lozz, I just missed that dirty old rock'n'roll tone. The clinical sound of the Genz Benz just didn't work for me....
I think the clinical sound is to do with the Shuttle rather than GB generally. As before my Streamliner is a very different beast and a lot warmer.
15. Mine arrived today. I'll tell you later.........p'raps
16. I have a Genz Benz Streamliner 6 and the Barefaced S12T and it's lovely & warm. A/B'd the Shuttle & the Streamliner before purchase - though I had gone to buy the Streamliner but thought I would check as bother were there. The Shuttle in the S12T was just too "clinical" and needed the tweeter rolled almost off, while the Shuttle was warmer and had tweeter rolled back in. If you're at the SE Bash perhaps we should set up the two side by side to see? EDIT - Just realised you're at the footie so a No this year.
17.
Im in one of them holes also, which book was it Walman?
Stuart Claytons Scales & Modes from Bassline Pub, Should have got it a few months back when he had a deal on, but..... I should know this stuff, but having made it up as I went along for the last cough thirty cough years I decided it was about time. Hopefully not tooooo many bad habits to erase

19. Glad you're enthused. Stick at it. I sadly am at the other end of the scale and in a black "what's the point" space. Hopefully the technique book I ordered last week will get me to snap out of it!!
20.
Tequila is wicked stuff, right?
Sorry, where am I, who are you and what the hell am I talking about? I was just sat minding my own business and then suddenly it's tomorrow & I'm here
21. I shall be preparing to fly so sadly not In the process of getting some of the big fecker gulls off the roof and must the the nurse for an ear descale then Carry On Waywrad Son. Have to be the SE bash for me the following w/e
22. Good luck with the search. It does happen. One of my guitarists lost his silverburst V years back. Distinctive. Yes, but more so bebause the back of the neck had an impression of his hand from the night he was stood too close to a flashpot. That turned up a few years back and was recognised because of that blemish
23. Well I try, and I know what I want to be singing, it just takes a few run throughs to get comfortable with what the bass. I doubt any of us are that different really, but in early days & while getting confidence, it's probably best to get the day job sorted (bass) then add the part time job (BV's) The more you do it, the quicker the two come together, but if BV's are causing you to struggle with the bassline, then get happy with that first
24. We play detuned to Eb, which helps, and then adjust tunings to fit after that. That does then mean that some songs are not feasible at the end of the day. You could always get one of these http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgciodHZmbk
