40 years now doing functions and weddings, Love the challenge to be the best, and that's about pleasing people, not just bride and Groom but Gran and Gramp and their little nephews and nieces who will be the only ones on the floor for the first 1/2 hour until you can actually find the bride to come and do their first dance. As said above a long time away from home, some are great some are shttt. But learning new chart material and playing stuff you would not otherwise play is great.

statistically - i'm in the group that is indicating within a couple of years my body will no longer be able to cope with the riggers of gigging and I will give up, I will then move into the group of old farts that nobody wants to see flood lit. But I'll tell my friends the fun had gone out of it for me. I had a good run , mustn't grumble

All chops and no soul but on the flip side there are those half your age just starting out that seem to have crammed a life time of experience into a couple of years, we call them gifted as it makes us feel better.

Proel - they do air damped and non air damped look exactly the same, but I would go for the air assisted it allows you to pull the pin and the weight of the cab to push down so you can lift the cab off easier at the end of the night. but maybe £50 v £70 I have two sets the oldest now about twenty years no probs, my son has the non air set for his disco and not as well constructed.

Very impressed with the quality of the neck finishing, nice to see he is still keeping his hand in.

I bought Clarky's Rob Allen of Chris, easy to deal with, real nice guy, Always enjoy his contributions on here drawn from his playing experience and the different gear he has owned.

I think this is a great example of you being conned by the manufacturer - selling it as a version of a popular 4 string bass, It may be the same model and same colour with an extra string but unless they have approached the construction as a 5 string bass then it could be a real Lemon. Having said that Yamaha are the best of the low budget basses i have played also check out Cort.

That's OK then I played in an Orchestra on trombone and took great pleasure in reflecting the the light from the setting sun from the counter weight of my trombone on the the arse's of the young girls from the local convent school sat in front, particularly the bassoon player. So I have this picture of you with your Phil Lynott custom mirror scratch plate setting fire to school kids in the string section. I thought i should edit this to say I was 14 at the time.

Nice to see the return of the 4 x 12" cab my old Tech soundsystem 4x12 was still the best i have owned and If the Primitivo is as good as your gear can you bring a couple of cases to the show

This also only happened when using my Markbass, and not when using my GK amp but did not figure this out at the time as I thought it was one of two speakers farting. That said have not had any trouble since changing to new 2 pole speakons.
