  1. I'm with Mike, but assume you want a cab either side of the Drummer. Having made up my own I think the speakon can take 4mm cable max, so go for that, tin the ends with solder before screwing down. I also have a heavey duty PA extension cable I use on large stages, 4mm cores the rubber outer sheath is about 10 - 12mm dia, no probs with the sound there. getting a quality cable is the main aim. I used see through flat twin hi-fi cable from Richersounds on my bass cabs. Its oxygen free you can get all sizes and you can buy it by the metre.
  2. I used half wounds for years realy liked them, Roto solo bass, then could not get them for ages, but Elite ground wounds sound very good if you can find them. very impressed wth the black tape wounds on my Rob Allen wish i had tried these on my old P bass years ago. will do a lot less damage than rounds but see which sound and feel best for you. a coated round set may be good halfway house
  3. Just to come back to 51 on the VPF setting. have my MB manual out. max setting shows a cut at 350 Hz of about -18dB with a +7dB at 40Hz and +12dB at 10kHz. in fact everything below 100Hz is boosted and everything above 1kHz when this knob is at max. At 9 o'clock which you state and I also set mine most of the time is probably not going to cut more than -5dB at 350Hz but will also lift the fundimentals and top end a little So removing some troublesome mud and make the top end clearer. 9 O'clock is only about two segments off the start position these amps sit at 7 when off. Just want to check you are not saying 9 o'clock and thinking 9/10 =4 o'clock ??? I don't use it a lot but find the bass boost, and the cut you get with the VPF at 12 or 1 oclock for thumb slap work, works realy well
  4. Will depend on cabs used, and bass. but with two EA M-lines and a shuker 5 with east delux pre my LMK is set usually set for finger style = ch 1 Gain= 11 Bass = 1 low m =10 high m =12 high =12 VPF =9 VLE = off master = 9<11 the other channel 2 for funkier pop is. Bass = 12 and VPF= 12<1 all others are as ch1 , other adjustments are made on bass all settings are O'clock, the East delux pre has a passive treble roll off which is great for jazz, motown, so dont use the VPF on the amp
  5. long way back to the van if you forget a lead great in the summer good luck with that one
  6. Yes i have three of them, used for vocal only fold back in a four piece functions band. I have also used them for small PA. mine are the 10" 350 watt and paid £75 -£100 more at the time, these 12" would be even better and are now only £250 I did A -B the 8" 10" and 12" at the time. with mic only in a shop 1,2,1,2,1,2, etc the 8" were limited and sounded thin. I did'nt get the 12" as they were £400 then. They were overpriced and think they have been re launched at this price as i have not seen 8" and 10" advertised since. Proel were the agent who imported them here at first, and think they still are. My only gripe is the paint finish which is too hard and knocks off mine have worn thin on the corners so have had the hammerite out on them.
