1. They were quite the thing to be playing in the late 80s Jorge Casas Miami sound machine used one for some time before signing up with Warwick. Bass centre London did sell them and later in the 90's they introduced some very nice wood bodies with excotic headstocks and body shapes. Not seen much now.
2. 2nd all that from above. I had a 5 string with jazz pickups the wenge necks are great. These are better basses than the re-sale price indicates so grow to love it, you will miss it if you sell.
3. Basstec by http://Schack-guitars.de There is a seperate Bastec site in developement, but these are usually what you get on a schack unless you request otherwise
4. My first Bass amp was the 130 with graphic and comp, very loud for the rated watts. worth noting Paul Westwood used the smaller one in his studio and for many of his recordings, which shocked me having parted with mine and been through several other amps on various GAS trips.
5. I could possibly grate a salad with it, but thats about it so I'll pass
6. Just fell upon this, never really associate super groups in jazz context, But these 4 must be it http://youtu.be/I4mO24Kd_BY
7. That’s correct The Peavey X over works so the amp sees 4 Ohms per side. These have never been punished by a death metal band, had these from new, Function band gigs only mostly just the Tops for vocal only and occasional bins as well for big gigs.
8. 5 string -Bass intro run down from 11th fret. G string to Eb 6th fret D string. Then into Tina's bands version of the Eb riff, Eb(6).Bb.(8)Eb.(6)Gb.(10)Ab.(6) hammer on to Bb(8). Eb(6) -then - Eb(6).Bb(8)Eb(6).Gb(10)Gb(10).Ab(6) and repeat. The chorus section is basically a run down on an Ab major scale. but with added skips etc. eg 2xEb semiquavers pinky on the (6) followed by Bb-Dd-Eb quavers. This only a guide to get your ear in, not expecting to hang myself out to dry here. I have been known to play a few numbers wrong for 20 years.
9. Over the years I have come to believe this too. Or maybe it is in the hands and I not fighting my sound like i did when i started out. Also certain guitars and basses suit certain line ups. Cut better and sit in the mix better. I think sometimes all the right things come together.
10. We do Tina's version having a female vocal. Eb Wish I'd seen her live cracking vid http://youtu.be/5oNgSfF8V7g
11. Been there. just need to let them know your not after the Warsaw piano concerto. just the string and brass fills on the left hand.
12. Purchased pending, Postman Pat on standby
13. For Sale These are my sons disco lights two Mood bars. can be linked with DMX cable. I have used these laid across the front of the stage, nice effect. or can be hung from T bars. just PAT tested and checked.
14. looks like a cowboys billycan. Lots of love there i guess. do you have to intercept flying bottles on a regular bassis with the headstock. Nice one. are you sure the neck isn't older, I thought we were well into the numbers under the logo by then or did they stop a while.
15. Always had you down as a Lemon Cello 'n' tonic man
16. Just thought I'd say i love mine to bits. grab this someone Bump on me
17. I mean, Banned of course CSE English let me down again. I was offered a gig to play bass behind a curtain whilst a celebratory mimed on stage. I turned it down for lots of reasons as well as fear of a black eye if I Fccckt up.
18. I thought, " we gunna mime so lets not pay Pino, grab one of the game volunteers" Athletes have to train for four years to perform live and have blood tests in case they cheat, Then they plan a musical finale' in front of the world to celebrate British music, and crap miming should be band full stop.
