1. Won't this be more comparable to a 2-Way Super12T instead of the 3-Way G2 Big Twin T?
 2. Sad to hear that. Hope that Mesa takes a honourable position (even though out of waranty) and help you get your amp serviced at low (or no) cost pretty fast. Material wears and tears, nothing lasts forever but having an amp damaged because of a strap clip is very hard to digest... good luck!
 3. I played with a drummer who had a Yamaha kit that opened in two and you could fit all the drums, one inside the bigger one up to the kick drum. Just one bag to carry the whole set! Let me see if i can dig out a pic...
 4.
They say that...but...we all know the reality haha!
if this was entirely true then we (bass players) would all be single...
 5.
....is the best way to p*** off a sound engineer and have him scoop all the mids out

yep , in one ear then out the other , resulting in the same bass tone he gives to every bass player at every gig he works on !
It seems you might be lacking something on the communication skills part. The trick is too make them believe that the no scoop filosophy is actually their idea!
 6.
I get it, but the soundman will just change it anyway....that's what they usually do...to their taste.
Nope! It's my keyboard players who is in charge of the sound and he knows how i like the sound. Whenever we have a bigger gig with sound company involved i usually have a quick chat with the sound man and let him be aware that i really need those mid freqs!
 7.
Lay the cab on its back, put rice grains on the cone so you can tell how much its moving, sweep the frequency going into it between 30 and 120hz (cab tuning will be in there, really should be between 40 to 60) and the bit where it moves least is the tuning as the port resonance loads it down. If the port is on teh back, this is a bit harder, need to have it a fair distance from the floor if so. (...)
Great tip, thanks for the explanation Learning something new every day!
 8.
This is a BB - it doesn't have a blend!

This is a BB - it doesn't have a blend!
But works the same with VVT config, can't you get a volume setting where you balance both pickups like you want to? How are you currently mixing them? Both full?
 9.
I could make an analogy, but I won't haha.
It's the inner beauty that mathers...
 10.
don't need to run equations, its convenient to do so, but the cab can be tuned using rice grains and an adjustable frequency sweep. Its advisable to do this anyway, since the calculations miss out of a few factors and can be a bit off.
Please do explain! Never heard of that one. Will brown rice have the same effect as, let's say, a basmati?
 11. I like to use the most transparent cab and amp i can find for a very simple reason. I want ME to be the one controling the tone, either by pickup blend, bass EQ or right hand positioning/attack! This is good for one reason, like most people i send my signal to FOH via the amps DI. Using an "uncolouring" rig i know that the sound i'm hearing behind me is the same being fed to the mixer (i play pub gigs with PA but no tech). Using a colouring rig i couldn't know if what sounds good to me on stage is sounding like sh*t on the main mix.
 12.
The Super Compact grille is actually pretty damn good...looks much better, (just seen a Facebook picture). See, again, a little bit of feedback like this helps.
Now they just need to be finished with a smoother coat of paint. I'm not a big fan of the current rough paint job but i won't get rid of my S12T because of its looks! The sound (and weight) is way more important
 13. Tell the rest of the band to turn up!!!
 14.
(...) I found I got the best blended sound with the bridge pickup lowered slightly so unfortunately I have to compromise between having either a beastly solo bridge pickup or a tamer sound that blends better with the P. Shame there is no equivalent of the Hipshot D-Tuner for pickup heights! (...)
Can't you get the sound you want with the blend turned more to the P pickup without having to lower the bridge pickup? My favourite solo pickup sounds don't work very well when balanced on the center detent, i always push the pot a little bit over the detent to the neck pickup side. I got used to it very quickly.
 15. And for all you Precision scared pussies: EDIT: Maybe aply some fur on the strings too, they could brake a nail!!!
 16. There's a reason why these guys have been on this world for so long: No need to worry about pointy things...
 17.
You're a bassist. Prepare yourself for the fact that it may not.
Spot on! ...
 18. A very quick search led me to believe that the IPR aren't bridgeable, is this true? I was also looking for a power amp but my quest was short having nailed a Ampeg SVP 1500 power amp. It's big and it's heavy but it pumps 1500W in 4ohms (bridge) Great sound! In the future i'll be looking in to buying a Crest Audio Pro-Lite 2000, they should be released on EU markets early next year.
 19.
Anyone recognise the body?
I was hoping to find something like this...
 20.
Understood, but my point remains that you have to physically put the T-nut inside the cab somehow as opposed to the hollow wall fixing which is all done from outside.
Yes, you're absolutely right. Using the t-nut you would need to get a way to stick the nut inside the cab.
 21.
I have no axe to grind, and no experience of these cabs. This idea might be completely bogus due to the thickness of the walls of the cab, but would hollow wall anchors work in this context? They work bloody well in their native environment (12.5mm thick plasterboard) - I have my stairs handrail held up with 12 (3x at 4 points along the rail) of these bad boys. Perhaps they would protrude too much into the cab, I dunno. Just thought I'd put them forward anyway. They might go loose through vibration, but they're highly unlikely to work loose to the point where they fall out. Back in my box now
This looks like another good solution. To stop having the screw coming out inside the cab simply use the original one to tight the anchor and then replace it for a smaller one EDIT: To be fair, in the end this would have the same result of apllying a T-nut.
 22.
To be fair, I think its valuable feedback that BF needs to keep improving the cabinets.
Totally agree with you, this issue should have been put to rest a long time ago. I know that Alex is putting his atention to more important things on his cabs but the fact is that the posts about the hardware issues are poping uo too often. Personally i don't mind about that, if a foot comes off i can fix it with ease. I want to get something straight before people start thinking i'm bashing BF: All the cabs i owned have had one or more feet falling off: My band's current PA consists on a pair of RCF ART 312-A and one has a foot missing (not what you would call a low-end speaker or a cheap one...) We also have a couple of dB subs and one is also missing a foot. My previous band had a complete Wharfedale Pro (red logo) PA (tops, mid bottom and monitors). Feet were falling off permanently. On my own bass gear only feet that didn't work loose were the ones on EBS and Eden cabs but simply because they did not have feet to begin with . The other piece of kit i hadn't have harware comming of was my old Trace Elliot rig but we all know that a nuclear disaster couldn't put a scratch on one of them!
 23. Stop worrying about the feet. you have two solutions to fix this permanently: 1 - Use a T-nut with a screw cut to size so it won't come too much out of the nut on the inside. Use feet with a metal ring inside for better results (BF feet are Penn fabricated and already have this "ring"; 2 - Apply a smal piece of wood (i mean small) on the inside of the cab and use a screw that goes trough the ply and screws on the wood (also use glue on the wood-ply contact zone). Paint it black. A small piece of wood won't disrupt the air flow on the port, the difference will be minimal and perfeclty unconsiderable! This is the downside of having light, thin plywood to keep the weight down. I konw that this design is prone to having feet falling but it doesn't stop me from buying the cabs. Alex could start adressing this issue with his new models so that people stop having a reason to keep up with this kind of topics...
 24.
Right you horrible lot, I knew it was a mistake to mention these cabs, I have just bought a secondhand compact!! You have forced my hand
Don't forget to come back and answer to your own topic after recieving it!
 25. Had a Midget, sold it and bought a S12T. Best decision ever! Before going Barefaced i was always changing cabs in search for the one that would be light, loud and clean. I paid a significant sum for this cab but i know that i would never get anything close tho it for the same amount of money. This is the reason why i don't plan selling mine in the near future and if i do i won't lower the price i paid (not too much). They're pricey but worth it. I also think that the looks aren't the most atractive on the market and would really love to see it with a cleaner finish but once i plug it in i forget about it.
