Just sold a Eden D112XLT8N cab to Martin. Excelent guy to deal with, great comunication and fast payment. Another great example of how basschat is a place for gentlemen. It has been a pleasure and will most definetly do business with you again, thank you Martin, hope you enjoy the cab. Marco
Never tried the Ashdown but I owned the Eden for a while - 4ohm version exactly the same as you're looking at - and used it with my Little Mark II as a home practice rig. It was a good, loud, clean sounding little cab and I only got rid of it to raise cash for a Barefaced Midget (my other cab is a S12, so I know where you're coming from), the rationale being that I didn't need that much power for playing in the house but I needed more power for my smallest gigs so the Eden didn't quite 'fit'. Nice little cab for the money, though. The only minor demerit for me was the lack of a speakon connector round the back; it's just a single recessed jack socket. No big deal, of course, I'd just have preferred a speakon.
Thank you for sharing, i ended up biting the bullit and have a Ash on my way. I had the Midget and now own the S12T wich is used for giging, i've found "my sound" on Alex's cabs but another midget would be too much money invested to sit around at home. I also just sold two Eden D112XLT8N cabs so i'm aware of the brand's quality and type of sound. I decided to go for the Ashdown just to be able to try something diferent, if i decide that i don't like it i'll put it up for sale, at that price is not a big deal.

This was my setup on my last gig, it's just a simple chair that i took from one of the tables and covered with a black cloth that i keep stored on my cable bag. Worked a treat for me and i was able to listen the bass without having to turn up the volume.
I am really tempted to get one of these to solve the same issue as it seems perfect, but..... i cant help thinking it will look rather silly on stage comared to just buying another cab to go underneath! not very rock n roll is it. lol.
So why don't you get an empty beer crate? That would definetly look RnR

Here's my doubt, i'm looking for a small, portable, good (doesn't have to be great) sounding cab. The idea is to have it at home for practise with the Shuttle and take it out on the ocasional jam. My main giging rig will still be the Thnderfunk+Super12T so i don't want to spend a lot of money. Other issue is that i want this cab to be 4ohms so i can have a bit more headroom from the amp without clipping. Before you start to torch me, i'm fully aware of the danger of using low power rating cabs with high power amps, i'm also very aware that the 900W stated by GB are a joke and i also know that a 4ohms cab won't pull twice the power from the amp. It's just a case of my having had and tried lots of gear and finding out that the Genz performs better with a 4ohm load. I also intend for this to be a single cab solution, if i need more and bigger i'll just take the TF/S12 rig. So the questions, wich cab do you think is more value for money? Who has/had one of these and what were your findings regarding it. I'm looking for a flat(ish) response from the cab but with enough b*lls to cope with a light playing drummer. I'm not thinking of ever using this without PA support. Here are the links: http://www.dv247.com/guitars/ashdown-mi10-bass-guitar-speaker-cabinet--96831 http://www.thomann.de/pt/eden_ex112.htm They're in the same price ballpark and i don't want to spend more than that on a new cab. If anyone has one of these cabs and is thinking about selling i will definetly be interested. It's all for now, thank you Marco

The DI on my Shuttle 9.0 is without a doubt the best DI i ever used. Check the switches and see how it's set up. You should go for something like: GROUND/LIFT - Doesn't need introduction POST/PRE - Post (if you want the valve warmth to come out, be careful with the rest of the EQ doing this, however I would recommend somekind of pedal like a VT bass to get that sound so you could avoid using the DI in POST, it makes things harder for the sound guys) MIC/LINE - this one you have to decide with the tech, logic says that if you're using a MIC input on the desk you should go for MIC position but because i use the gain on my amp at 12o'clock and am a very light player we found that the desk needed to have a lot of gain on the channel wich would favor feedbacks and add noise so i changed the switch to the LINE position and we could lower the desk gain to a sensible position. Cheers
I'm with you 100%, I always raise my cab off the deck because it just works better for me like that....
+2! I haven't played with a cab on the floor for 5 years and don't expect to go back.

Here's the manufacturer: http://jklado.com/ Don't know wich model is this but if you search google for JK LADO BASS you'll find somo basses similar to this one, maybe you can get more info there. There's also a forum: http://jklado.com/forum/index.php?sid=119354780a2a9c05750ec35311c023bc This can be your best option. Cheers

I used to use a keyboard stand to get my cab up to hear level, something like this: Best and cheapest solution ever. Since i got my Super12 i'm using any chair i can find on the venue because i don't need to have it that high but am looking for a similar and more permanent solution. I've looked at the guitar amp stands but i need something that doesn't tilt my cab, only raise it a bit. Mind that when using a keyboard stand you need to be aware of your rigs weight, i was using Neo cabs and class-D amps though once i must admit that i got away in one gig standing my old Trace Elliot 15" combo on one of these - be advised, NEVER do this! it's just not safe enough
I did!
Good man!
Thanks for the offer, Dan... much appreciated! Ghost_bass - if my calculations are correct, this should be a decent fit. Check first, though! I have an Odyssey bag for my Walkabout, and they're great. Very protective, but light. Having said that, I don't know where you would get one in the UK.
That one looks great but i prefer to get something that doesn't look like a Laptop bag because it increases the chances of someone grabbing it at the end of a gig.
Is anyone aware of a decent bag for these? As in, a bag you take the head out of, rather than a rack bag? I'm guessing the Aggie one is no longer made...
If you find one can you please post a link over here? I'm also looking for a bag for my TF that's about the same size as the AG500. From my searches i only found two suitable, the AG500 bag (that seems to be discontinued) and the Eden WT-800 bag (that's a bit pricey and has to be sent in from the US). Cheers

Recently i've been hearing a lot of refreshed love for these amps both sides of the channel. Is this the second Aguilar wave comming up? They are indeed excelent amps and a great choice for any bass player. I believe that they got forgotten along the way because they came up a short time before the lightweight/class-D boom. Now that things are getting a lot colder with those little amps i see people returning the the good old fashioned 500ish W analogic amps. I'm no saint in this, i also moved from a Shuttle 9.0 to a Thunderfunk 550B and am more than happy with it. From what i know about the Aggies you can't go wrong with the AG500 (just make sure it's not the SC so you can indulge youself with some AGRO goodness from time to time )
how many screws does your current bridge have to attach it to the bass?
Ups... this question may come a bit too late! But from looking at the pics of the current bridge and the one the OP ordered i believ it will be a direct replacement.

If you taken the trouble of posting a topic on this forum then i can't believe that you're actually serious about not having GAS. A new instrument is always a motive for inspiration and a new bass ariving for your big date and made with specs chosen by you will bring you renewed joy in playing. I say, if you can afford it and if it will make you happy then go for it. If you feel bad about having too much basses for what you're playing just sell the old ones
