I love em. Expect to pay £800 upwards. There is a GB tread going.
Can't find it with the search engine, got a link?

Am currently persuing a GB Spitfire bass, just wondering what people's opinion of them are? I'm looking for a similar sound to my Bacchus that had two soapbars. Also, how much should I expect to pay for one second hand? Cheers
Ah but he didn't sell it, it was stolen from him and he wants it back. He talks about it on the commentary he did for the re-release of his solo album Fish Out of Water. The RickResource forum have been discussing the apparent re-emergence of the bass.
Interesting, got a link?
as far as i know, its filled with foam of some sort. im pretty much 100% theres no wood involved i think if anyone is thinking of modding it to 6 bolt, they should contact rob for his opinion, he knows best! otherwise, 4 bolt owners buy it !
That would certainly put an end to any debate wouldn't it?
It's got the 12-band pre-amp, but doesn't mention the specific AH1200 model. That's the same problem I've had - I can find a manual for the AH...SMX range, but it doesn't mention my specific model (350).
Oh yeah sorry, I'm getting confused between the AH1000-12 and AH1200
I don't see these amps a lot, so it might be a very small series?
It was a small series due to the Gibson takeover and subsequent liquidation of the company. I had a chat with Andy Ewen, and ex-trace employee who was selling off old stock on ebay, here's what he had to say about them:
Don’t buy an older AH1000! Not many were made and they were very unreliable; the output stages blew up regularly. The new one is excellent and doesn’t have much to do with Peavey; designed by my old colleague Paul Stevens from Trace who incidentally, was responsible for the second generation V4s & V8s. I did the first generation V4 & V6 but Paul’s V8 was probably one of the best bass amps ever made. Very few came out of the factory though as it was at the time Gibson were messing everything up.
1977 Fender Jazz Bass - Sunburst. SALE PENDING
Waldo replied to crookysax's topic in Basses For Sale
No, it didn't... I bought this bass and receive it last week but after inspecting it properly turn out not to be an all original '77 Jazz bass. A few bits had been replaced, and a few other things didn't work properly. I was buying this bass planning to keep it and get rid of my all original '78. As it was suposed to be all original, had been owned by Noel Redding and I liked it better than mine I tought it was a good investment but, because of the price and not being all original, I decided not to buy it.. I spoke to the seller about it and he said he didn't know about the parts having been replaced and the other bits not working properly, he was kind enough and understood the situation. I have to say that Chris was a top bloke to deal with, he sent me the bass with no payment upfront and the communication has been really good he even offered me a refund for the shipping I paid. I'm surprise to see it on Ebay, the bass is still sitting in my bedroom he hasn't arrange collection yet.
For some reason there's no mention of it not being all original on that ebay auction... -
Saying that I'm open to trade offers doesn't mean that I'm obliged to accept whatever is offered does it? You make it sound like 'oh if this guy won't swap for a Shuker then he surely won't swap for anything else'. Sorry if that makes me 'fussy' but it's actually my call I'm in the position of not *needing* to sell the bass, nor being in a rush to do so. At the moment the bass is just sitting here not being played and if I can swap it for something that would be great. I have nothing specific in mind, hence why I said I would entertain any offers! Besides, the last time I asked for a specific trade (vintage fenders), I got many PM's along the lines of 'Oh, I know you said you wanted a vintage fender but would you like an *insert totally different bass here* instead?'. Can't win.... So yes, the bass is still here and I'll entertain cash offers or any trades you may have in mind, be it basses or amps actually.
Hello Ladies and gentlemen, I recieved the olp bass with sterling pup fitted today, much to my dissapointment. it arrived in its gig bag through parcelforce, not even boxed, the pickup, was a standard OLP bass pickup, I could tell straight away because the pole pieces had the swirl pattern on them and the outer casing of the pickup was different and on taking the pickup screws out the bottom of the pup was sealed in glue, like my standard olp ray, now correct me if I am wrong but as far as I know sterling pups are not sealed pickups. On top of that the scratchplate that was on it was not an olp scratchplate but that of an actual ray and therefore did not fit correctly, on taking it off there were extra screw holes in the body and poorly done as the screws went it at a diagonal angle. A big patch of buckle rash is on the back. I have e-mailed the seller asking ofr a refund because of the misdescription of the item as it does not have a sterling pup in it. I know I only paid £90 but I cant help but feel Ive been jipped.
Did you buy it from here? Sterling pickups have a phantom coil on the bottom of the pickup (just looks like a single coil pickup soldered on the bottom), if it's not there it's not a sterling pickup. Unless someone went to the trouble of removing it, which I doubt.
