1. Now on ebay. If anyone here wants to buy it, let me know.
2. Ok, this is going on ebay. I can't believe that there are 3 fleabasses for sale here at the same time!
3. bump
4. I used to think that re-stringing a bass was hard work - Until I got a guitar with a floyd rose! Which string did you break?
5.
eye your not wrong there it has a mid cut and the sweep generally does take any that was there away,if you like that then its good. i do
Ahh yes, you're quite right! I thought it boosted things becuase of the battery in it? All I know iz, it makes your sound much 'fuller' to me.
6.
Ah... I believe this is ex-mine. All I can say it is a great piece of kit, being sold by a great guy at a great price too. So have a bump on me.
Thankyou very much! There's a pic now
7. Picture bump!
8.
Look,Im getting Pm'd about this ...people. OK SORRY I didnt discuss it with you first Steve,Ped dosent seem to have a bee in his hat over this,so...SORRY again! I didnt add the poll,a moderator did. If people have a genuine issue with how I put my point of view across, then I cant help that...and I am NOT going to change (BECAUSE OLDGIT LOVES IT WHEN I SNAP...oooh yeah baby) I felt that it was a genuine subject that we,public..bassists regardless of string numbers, should be allowed to discuss, because those that it would,or might, benefit, would not be allowed a say.... Its not political (I have little wish to be in charge of anything except what goes on onstage). I cant help it if something was done in a slightly more democratic fashion than what appears to be the norm. I will be probably banned for this... Have a very happy christmas,I offer love in subsonic ways to you all xRx
I don't see what you've done that would constitute being banned. You've just made a discussion thread as far as I can see?
9.
A simple demand for the public to see, & to those in charge of Basschat Hmmm. ARGH in the future if you have an idea, and you would like "those in charge of Basschat" to offer their full support, its probably a good idea to discuss it with them.
I don't see what's wrong with discussing it here?
10.
Chris, how are you getting on with the Bacchus Jazz?
You have a PM!
11. Really really pains me to let this go but it's been sitting in its case for a while and it just doesn't get the use that it deserves 2005 Model, with all the extras. Blue flake paint + matching headstock, Bartolini pickup, Aguilar OBP-1 preamp and badass bridge (which DOES NOT come as standard, please don't tell me it does!). I'd say that this is in 'players condition' Its had regular use but I've always looked after it, there's the odd mark here and there as you'd expect on a bass that has been used. There is one particularily large ding on the bottom of it which i'll photograph and show. This is an amazing bass, and a real head turner! Looking for £1100 for this. If you're looking for a flea bass, save yourself the 1-year waiting list and buy this one! Now for some pics! It being so sparkly makes it rather difficult to photgraph so apologies. I had planned on taking the photos outside in some nice daylight but there hasn't been any nice daylight and I don't think there's going to be. I've attempted to photograph some small nicks on the headstock but it's really hard. There's one right on the edge of it in the middle of the photo but it's very hard to see. This last picture shows the most 'major' bit of damage to it: Any questions, please ask!
12. This has been described as a 'magic box' and I'd agree with that. Can really fill out your sound if your bass is lacking mids (works great with my Fleabass). Am selling as my amp has a para-EQ built into it which makes this box pretty redundant. £35 shipped
13. Great peice of kit this, the only reason I'm selling it is becuase I want the guitar version instead as I'm playing guitar a lot more these days. Good condition, can get pics on monday. £185 shipped. NOW SOLD
14. The start of my gear cleanout. Pedaltrain Junior with soft bag, decent condition (it is made out of metal afterall!) £55 shipped. Will be able to get pics up on monday if wanted.
15.
Hmm, you must be reading something I can't find! AFAIK, they don't come as standard, they never used used to. Perhaps they do now, although I can't find anything that says that. The fact that the Modulus site is years out of date doesn't help really.... Badass come as standard now but bever used to. I have one of the very sexy older bridges Chris
Ahh, well that explains it then! That might also explain why the price for the bass is less now (as you don't factor the bridge into it) Cheers for that
16.
BTW the £1805 includes the Badass II bridge.
Hmm, you must be reading something I can't find! AFAIK, they don't come as standard, they never used used to. Perhaps they do now, although I can't find anything that says that. The fact that the Modulus site is years out of date doesn't help really.... There's a nice looking Flea J5 on ebay right now that was actually used Flea, very cool: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Modulus-Flea-J5-Jazz...VQQcmdZViewItem Would just like to point out that this ad was only supposed to be a feeler. I'll be putting up a proper for sale ad when I get round to it with proper pictures e.t.c, as there is some cosmetic damage that needs to be pointed out.
17. I've had a check on the smart-distribution site, it seems the price has changed now, sorry about that. It definatly WAS £2065 when they had the bass in thier online stock though. By my calculations it would be £1805 plus however much it costs to supply and fit a badass bridge, so it's still going to be the best part of two grand for it. Besides, I'm not trying to sell it for that much anyway, I was only pointing out that it's an expensive bass and thus don't want any silly offers for it!
Aren't those photos taken from SMART's Flea pages??? Got any of the real bass?
There's a very good reason for why I've taken the photos from the SMART website. That's becuase they're actually pictures MY bass, as I bought it from them!
18.
in my opinion, any bass with more than four strings needs less. after all, jaco never used a five string. nor does victor wooten. or flea. or les claypool. or most of the great bass players.
Sorry, you're wrong. I hate the 'oh but 4 strings were good enough for Jaco so it must be good enough for everyone else' argument, it's a really annoying, stupid and a totally blinkered viewpoint. Victor Wooten uses a five string. Flea used a 5 string stingray on Blood Sugar Sex Magic and as for Les Claypool......have you ever actually heard him or seen him play?!? He has a brace of 6 stringers which he probably uses as much, if not more than his 4 stringers!
19. I had a top G break on a set of elixirs after only a few days, after forking out that much money on a set of strings I was not amused! Tried some again which lasted much longer but the way that the coating peels off got on my nerves.
20. Can't say I find that tone particularly impressive, IMO.
21. Did you ever ask on the EBMM forums about your bass? The gold hardware is very strange. Replacing the preamp is sacrilege if you ask me though!
22. I'm suprised that no-one seems to have heard about the fusion 550, it was announced probably about 2 years ago? It looks amazing, but I've lost respect for GK as they said it would be out last June and there still doesn't seem to be any sign of it coming out any time soon! It's stupid really as I'd put the money aside to buy it last year but since it never materialised, I went out and got something else. Same goes for the Neo 4x10's that they said would be coming out. Their loss really...
23. You're better off getting a second hand sterling. Besides, they've stopped making the SUB range anyway.
24.
I'm always a little uncomfortable with the word "Jap" - perhaps just exclusively using CIJ or MIJ or even "japanese" might be more appropriate?
Oh come on, don't be rediculous........'Jap' is just short for Japanese! Are you also uncomfortable about using the word 'Brit'? Or how about 'Aussie?'
25. I've got an Aggie OBP-1 in my Fleabass and I'd say that it just gives you a clean, totally uncoloured boost rather than adding or taking away from your tone. That's either a good or a bad thing, depending on what you want.
