1. I can bring a thunderfunk tf750 if anyone is interested in having a go.. Also a thumpinator if anyone wants to try it in front of their rig ?
2.
A transformer that provides 'punch' unlike the tiddler in your 750.
The one in my thunderfunk ? :-)
3.
One with a transformer for starters
So which amps don't have transformers? I'd be interested to hear about them
4. Looks like a shovel to me :-)
5.
I had a go on the little mark ninja and the little mark tube this afternoon. Almost a little too powerful, but I just can't seem to get on with the low mids on Markbass amps. I would love to be the kind of badass that rolls up with something called a Thunderfunk, but it's out of my league, I'd have to admit with rather disappointed maturity. The Quilter is probably not going to win any beauty contests, but it sure looks like it means business. I noticed they have a dealership in Antwerp. Hmm, I was planning a trip anyway...
You can get them from Wembley music.. https://www.wembleym...0-bass-amp.html Although out of stock at the moment - they had 4 a few weeks ago..
6.
Seems strange that your map isn't giving you enough volume, but it goes to show that watts don't really give any indication of how loud it can go. I used to play in a really loud band with just a 2x10 Markbass combo & never struggled to be heard (though most of the venues never held much more than 300 people). As you probably know, the RH750 isn't able to put out 750 watts.
But it is damn loud which sort of plays to your first point 😁
7. They would have been about £300 new.. Yet another signature bass for a famous bass player I've never heard of 😉
8. It is a thing https://www.andertons.co.uk/p/0301077506/electric-basses/squier-eva-gardner-precision-bass-in-rosewod-board-black-gloss
9. The newer generation D classes are worth a look at - the ones in the 800w range. I love my thunderfunk 750 which has edged out my rh750.. Slightly left field is the Quilter bass block 800.. but it's a power stage i think it's safe to trust..
10. I suspect there maybe something wrong with your amp.. let's say you go for something thunderous like an orange BT1000, it's not going to be hugely louder although a couple of dB can make a big difference in the mix.. what cabs do you have?
11. What amp do you currently have ?
12. Never seen the point. Age and wear = mojo. Relicing does not confer mojo..
13. Just sold mike a sansamp bddi.. no muss, no fuss. Recommended BC'er and top man
14.
I use two of the NY121s with an LM3 which I guess must be pretty similar to the 4 ohm NY122 set up? I get a cracking sound out of this set up with more than enough headroom to compete against loud drummer/guitar. I thought about going the 122 route but decided the separates gave me a bit more flexibility, that said I rarely use a single cab except at the odd rehearsal
And I think a 2x12 cab sounds better than 2 1x12 cabs.. That was certainly the case when I compared 2 BF compacts against a BF S12T..Bigger, more open sounding..
15. Don't forget that fearless and barefaced share quite a lot of "design DNA" as Alex will happily confirm..
16. I'm pretty happy happy with my Thunderfunk 750 (10kg) on top of my Barefaced S12T (20 kg)...
17. he wants £52 to ship it :-)
18. nice.. Good price as well..
19. I like it.. Perfect for a RHCP covers band?
20.
Calling it a monstrosity is too kind; this was never a good bass and never will be. (I have to say though, that the idea sometimes appeals to me to get a really good bass made to look like one of these cheapos!)
Sh*t bass, let's paint it a sh*t colour :-)
21. This monstrosity is on ebay at the moment for £250 :-) made of "laminated" wood :-)
