2.
Funny you should mention THE PA. Last night was the only night in 10 years where I haven't sorted out getting it back to mine. I left it to them. I've just found out that it's still in the venue stacked in a disabled toilet! 7pm on New Years Eve! What's going on?
Luckily it's not your problem ?
3. If nothing else having something under the barefaced will make it sound better :-)
4.
Are you sure Pino played bass on this track, I used to work doing sound for a touring band playing all the big night clubs around the UK back in the 80's, all of the band members were session players of good standing, we played in Wales one weekend and I was introduced to a guy called Chris, bassist for Go West, who knew the guitarist in the band, I was chatting to him about Pino (No Parlez was the hit album of the time) and he said he used to share a flat with Pino and they had both taken up fretless at the same sort of time but Pino just blew him away? I have nothing to substantiate the above but it could explain why the song would have that Pino type sound and style?
Guitarist for a while was Alan Murphy. Genius Pino is listed as a bass player for the album "call me" is on..
5. Ibanez btb's are wider than sr's .. the Cort A5's are worth a look as well. Both are a lot of bass for the money. There is a btb1405 on here for about £600 which is a steal
6. There's a black one on the facebook UK bassplayers marketplace
7.
OK I've checked those, but there doesn't seem to be a 35" option, unless the standard string is longer. However I note that these are mot recommended for through-body stringing, suggesting they are 34". G.
Makes sense as sadowsky very rarely do 35" scale and I've not seen a through body straining either. Mark at bassdirect probably stocks the best range of long scale strings - worth giving him a call ?
8. He's changed the description now '-)
9. I'm using the mobile app which does not show this as far as I can work out :-) Thanks for the info.
10. Where are you based ?

13.
I'm curious about those E string detuner things. My initial response was "wow what a cool idea, surely that can't possibly work." So... does it?
Yep :-)
14. Don't normally like foderas but that is stunning

16. I believe sadowsky do tapered flatwounds
17.
That´s a shame. Bassdirect isn´t possible to visit this time. I´d love to try their second hand purple one with wenge neck....
Easy train journey from London..
18. Glad you're enjoying it 🙂
19.
I can see why, but would think getting the balance right across them would be very difficult. I broke a roundwound D once and put a fresh one on to carry on playing - it was so loud and bright compared to the rest of the played in strings it made it difficult to play. Had to change the others in the break.
If it was a rotosound you should have waited 20 mins and it would have been as dull as the rest of the strings ,:-)
20. Lots of threads on talkbass. Basically big heavy and full sounding ..
21. Rickenbacher ? :-)

23. Which means that they're not consistent with the formula or application of the neck finish.... :-) The 4003's are better than the 4001's..
24. This sort of QC put me right off ricks decades ago.. unlike some of folks who complain I actually struggled with a 4001 for over a year :-)
25. Any marks, dings or scratches?
