2. Clearly the pickguard was a bit of an afterthought,,,
3. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/296356-lakland-55-94-deluxe-usa This one at the moment.. but I'd need to see it and play it first
4. Leo Fender got it right this time :-)
5. Why are you wanting to rewire for 2 Ohms if you think it will lose power? I presume you're doing this so that your amp will make more power into the new configuration?
6. plus Clavinovas take a real hit in value second hand, especially the high end ones.. I was looking around recently for a replacement for my CLP270 so have a feel for the market... Somewhere between 2.2k and 2.5k I would expect..
7. Sandberg vm4 ?
8. Plenty on talkbass..
9.
This is probably where I got my thinking a bit back-to-front - I was thinking about the tonal variations afforded by a Strat, and how many bassists like to "sculpt" their tone, but then of course a decent active EQ could achieve the same breadth of results and a lot more in-between! (Can you tell I only own passive basses?)
It's also about harmonic content as well.. pickup location is the main factor here..

11.
So how do you tell if a song is in C or A minor? And does it matter?
Easily, because the root/4/5 stuff applies (super simplistic)... This is a fantastic book to read... 12.
Not true - can't post them on my phone, but take a look at some battery charge graphs. They tend to lose a very small amount and then metaphorically fall off a cliff.
I just put a meter across my batteries before a gig.. 9V or less then they're changed...
13. Like a super stylish Warwick :-)

15.
People have short memories! But have you seen the new designs for lightweight fire extinguishers ? :-) But it does have a smps though '-) I'm not sure why people seem to be using class A/B as a synonym for heavy, my Markbass LMII is class A/B and weighs virtually nothing.
16. Is this the narrow or wide string spacing version ?
17. If you have more than two pickups ?
18.
Ashdown Retroglide 800 are currently £417 through Thomann. Ashdown meets Trace Elliot in a compact, UK made package... they sound pretty good too. Bargain. That could be the answer to your GAS.
not sure 3kg counts as heavy though :-)
19. And the pa elves will almost certainly provide the cable. They love bass amps they can di
20.
Carole Kay, Adam Nitti, Gerald Veasley. Verdine White has done as well, I think.
Dave Swift is a new endorsee
21.
My #1 gig rig is an Ashdown ABM 500 evo II into a Barefaced Super Twin, but for the last 4 months it hasn't left the house as I have been using my Ashdown Touring 330 1x15 combo instead, which weighs about double the main rig, but sounds so good it gets used everywhere.
P bass man :-)
22. I'm umming and aahing between my RH750 and Glockenklang Blue Rock .... I think the Glock has the edge in heft, but I can't run either at anything near full chat as the drummer falls off his stool... :-) In terms of heavy cabs.. No way ever again...
23. Last gig but one I got more more applause than the guitarists (hopefully not ironic).,,:-) However what was priceless was the look on one of the guitarists face :-)
