1. Good price and lovely bass.. GLWTS...
2.
There are regular thread in amps-an-cabs forum about power amps, but the gist is generally to get a good mid-range PA amp, the peavey and crown ones you mention are probably as good as anything else.
plus QSC. Bullet proof in my experience.. Something like a PLX1602 would suit..
3. Do you know whether all your drivers are blown? And if so, whether they can be reconed ?
4. I'd also like to do "Get the funk out" but again the singer refuses :-)
5.
I blame the consumers. If only they were better musically educated they wouldn't be misusing their buying power to strangle creativity. The bastards.
:-)
6.
I've not heard this before - like it, is it well known? BSC and Royal Blood good shouts too (thanks all for the input!)
The younger folk know it :-) Cage the Elephant are pretty well known... (Or Katie the Elephant as I originally misheard :-) )
7.
My band does Slither - Velvet Revolver as well. Also Figure it Out - Royal Blood. Open Fire - The Darkness (off the latest album). Numerous Foo Fighters songs. Are You Gonna Be My Girl - Jet.
My singer won't do Slither, but it's great bass line (and a great song)..
8. We also do "White Trash Millionaire" by Black Stone Cherry and "Get your Buzz on" by the Cadillac Three.. We're quite proud that the average age of our set list is about 15 years :-)
9. we do ain't no rest for the wicked in this style.. works well.. https://www.youtube....h?v=JCQ0WTsmybA
10. My j-retro can be set very hot, but I prefer it a only a little louder than the passive setting. Big Singles here
11.
This. The newer solders are a swine to work with compared to the old tin/lead ones.
this +1.. Although you can still buy old style solder, it just can't be used in RoHS products..
12. sort of hard to make a judgement unless you have a detailed knowledge of the gain structure... but it does appear that the general consensus is that the TH500 lacks heft..
13. Why do you let them tell you what bass to play ? :-) do you get to choose what they play ?
14. Looks like I'm about to be playing keys again... Roland AX Synth keytar - basically a V-Synth in a Keytar format..It's the more expensive (and magnificently classy) black one.. Immaculate condition, comes with PSU, strap, Roland stand and Swan Flightcase... Full details here... https://www.roland.c...ducts/ax-synth/ Will ship at buyers expense and risk.. Based in the south Midlands if you want to try and/or pickup..
15. must resist.... must resist...
16.
i do use a looper.... see below i have .... Future impact dod meatbox moog boost source audio manta MXR envelope filter Line 6 M5 MXR compressor pretty much set up in that order, and i split the signal at the meatbox and send the wet down the chain and mix it it with an LS2 just before the compressor all linked up to a joyo PXL looper/midi controller
Regardless, something in your setup is sucking tone... I'd take it apart and build it back up a pedal/device/patch lead at a time.
17. Depends on the pedals - you can use a looper or have true bypass pedals, or a switchable effects loop on the amp.. All of which address the tone suck issue..
18. Have a look at the Vox amphones - apart from being a bit quiet I like them... https://www.gak.co.uk/en/vox-amphones-bass-active-bass-guitar-headphones/74158
19. Bought a Barefaced Compact from this fine gentleman.. Easy, fussfree transaction..

23.
Arrrgggghhhh... I live in Paris, and I want it, and I got the cash!!!!!! That is such a shame..
Eurostar to London, Harrow is only 45 mins by public transport... Could be there and back in 7 hours :-) And it's a very nice Stingray..
24.

Thanks.. looks meaty ,
