I feel an irrational GAS for a 750 even though I already own the 450 dont need the extra power or features.
Yes you do - I've got both Although my 450 case has had some repair work and a respray and is now a lovely azure blue :-)

Stumbled across these - http://hoovi.at/deef...oducts/?lang=en - I can sort of see how it would work for a floor mounted 12" guitar combo, but for bass - especially low frequencies with wavelengths > 5 ft (200 hz and down) it's hard to see how it would help Thoughts?
I'd be surprised if the Ashdown could match the output of the Barefaced when played at high volumes, simply because the sort of drivers that can do that tend to cost more than would seem likely for a cab at this price point. It could still be a pleasant sounding cab though, and looks like good value.
This...
I agree Kev. I'll be selling my Barefaced cabs and buying these less expensive Ashdowns myself if they are as "good" in a gigging environment. I can't believe I'm thinking about moving away from Barefaced after 7 years with them but there you go...and I said above that I wouldn't, but I have to be open-minded to advances in technology. Frank.
I'm in the market for a £200 Barefaced Compact.. As the Ashdown is only £275 new, that would seem to be the new market price
Doesn't "rare" mean "not cooked all the way through"...wonder how it plays then...
Probably like the same colour 4003's on sale on TalkBass for $1400 .. :-) or worse as it won't have had a setup for 10 years and as we all know Rics have bendy necks :-)
Not up to date, but a useful list - http://stinkfoot.se/archives/808
About half a dozen seem to fit the requirements.. Useful link..

For the reverse polarity simply cut a cable in half and reconnect the reverse way.. MAKE SURE YOU MARK IT AS SUCH :-) One problem sorted :-) Or you can buy an adapter cable for under a fiver..

Cool - I look forward a flood of cheap compacts on the for sale forum ..:-) More seriously, given that Ashdown publish no useful specs about the performance of the cab (although ears are useful) you should wait until you've tried them both out in more situations..

New drummer found, now guitarist is off on one...
Whatever the tempo is, it stays.... You can't be having changes through a track. Either play in time or find new people. There is no ambiguity about where the 1 is...and everyone hits it. A good drummer will make this very obvious anyway.
Unless it's meant to..:-) However as a device it seems to be dying out ,, -
For the money Ashdown RPM1/APM1 setup.. Reliability nightmare..

Marcus Miller Sire v7 5 string bass
BC Rich 5 String W.M.D. Widow Active Neck Through Bass
BC Rich 5 String Zombie Exotic Neck Through Switchable Active Bass
Fame Baphomet Gothic 5-string Active Bass Buitar with Gig Bag Soft Case
Would be quite interested in the Buitar [sic] but the other three are... meh, at least for me.
The V7 Sire is on loads of folks shopping lists.. You don't see many BC Rich(es) on Ebay - so two in one day was a bit of a surprise.. And I've never seen a Fame before (nor did I know they were related to Mayones in some not well defined way) The reason I posted this is that it's not often my saved searches scoop up a batch like this,,,
It would have been helpful if you could have included the auction title or summarised the item - as it turns out I'm not very interested in any of these, but had to follow the links to find out what they were.
Apologies for adding four clicks to your day.. I'll be more thoughtful going forward :-)

Update - pretty much everything seems to be excluded... Been doing some looking around - parcelmonkey appear to charge £10 for £600 cover.. I'm looking at shipping an amp though.. I'll dig through their T's and C's and see what they say about instruments..
That's why it's easier to just play one or the other. Or just the 5, because then you have a stable environment on the fret board and can play any song on the one instrument. IMO, trying to keep the 4 in play as well serves no useful purpose and just causes unnecessary complications. . . unless you can give over a lot of practise time to developing 2 lots of muscle memory.
this +1.. Once I settled on playing only 5 stringers everything became much easier...

Do you let other people play your bass(es) ?
markstuk replied to josie's topic in General Discussion
If they're sober, sensible, a bass player and don't have scratchy bits on their clothing then sure... -
There's a whole anti-Fender snobbery on forums but a good bass is a good bass regardless of make. The trick is to play what feels right whether it is a Harley Benton or a Warwick. It stands to reason plenty of us are happy with fender, regardless of custom shop or MIM status.
There's also a lot of pro-fender snobbery on forums as well...
Ridiculous. I would have been tempted to walk out and get the gear from somewhere else. You'd think they'd be falling over themselves to add more onto an already big sale.
I bought a Nord Stage 88 from DV a few years ago, they got it in along with a Korg Kronos and Yamaha XF8 at my request so that I could A/B/C them. Left me in their dem room by myself for a couple of hours, and they had the best price.. Hard to fault in my opinion.. -
