Look at the FEarful plans on basstalk (although BFM's plans hardly break the bank in terms of cost)... Of course you need to match the driver to the cab design..
Yes - you are probably right. That's what I think I will do. Are there any decent plans available through the Bsschat site? Thanks, Stompbox.
Apparently there is a mod to the PLX 2402 to increase sensitivity by changing 4 (sic) resistors.....

Maybe something like this? Studio Spares

Hi Thanks for the advice.. I was thinking small metal box with no valves - a simple solid state transparent preamp, single XLR or jack in/single XLR or jack out (preferably balanced) , and a gain knob :-) ... The ART's are meant for mic's mostly I think? Cheers Mark

Bumpy bump.. Any ideas?

I chose the S12T because it seemed to offer the best compromise between size, range and efficiency... The S12T is 4db more efficient than the Big Twin according to the spec sheet, but I suspect the big twin offers some serious low end oommph if you've got the watts to drive it.. I'm still bemused at how much air my S12 can move, so god knows what the big twin is like..

Still looking.. :-) rescue me from playing the bass, please someone :-) -
Why not drop Alex a line at Barefaced cabs..? He's a sensible chap... Contact form on his website..
Not sure really. I have been looking at the Super 12T for quite a while, but just noticed the Big Twin... so i have been trying to find out if, or how, much better it is. I am just a bit nervous of using my M6 out of it's 2x12 combo. The sound of the Mesa is huge, very full range sounding cab. But it is very big and very heavy and i often have to lift it out of the car and up some steps into my house on my own. This is not good, it is really too big and heavy for a one man lift. cheers thebassman
I thought it went quite nicely with your EBS 350 as well :-)
Mark graciously allowed me a go on his S12T a couple of weeks ago because I've been looking at revising my rig. SERIOUS cab. Sounds massive, it's crisp, punchy and in such a small footprint to boot. It's convinced me.... T
Hi, I've got a S12T - what do you want to know? Cheers Mark
Hi guys I have been looking a getting a new bass cab recently. I have a Mesa M6 Carbine so 600 watts @ ohms. I currently have it as part of the 2x12 M6 combo, but i am thinking about taking it out and using with a separate cab. It's a fantastic combo, just a bit heavy for a 1 man lift. Has any tried, seen or maybe actually own one of these. I am looking for user experiences or opinions. Cheers thebassman Super Twelve T Big Twin
Hi, I'd like to use the effects send or DI on my RH450 to directly drive my QSC2402, but neither output appears to produce anough level to do this properly.. If I use the headphone output on the RH450 this works fine... I suspect I'm 10-15 db short on the effects/DI output... So a simple mono preamp or line driver appears to be in order, no tone controls, very clean, and preferably not too expensive.. Any suggestions? I have an ART MX225 that would probably do the job, but I'm really looking for something small and 9V powered that I can fit and forget... Cheers Mark

This might tempt some of you then :-) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT Along with my Dingwall I've got a MIJ SR765...

Just bought a QSC 2402 from frank, well packed, good comms, a gent...
-
Yup the RH450 is purely being used as a preamp... The EBS's are 4 ohms each so it's delivering about 700W RMS per cab . Sadly the PLX does not bridge into 2 ohms :-) Also works well using my Sansamp as a preamp... Cheers Mark
Glad you like the power amp. Guess you're using the TC purely as a preamp? What is the impedance of those cabs? 4 Ohm each is ideal for that amp, as it goes down to 2Ohm per channel.
Bass player wanted for Florida tour-MAY 11th-24th 2011
markstuk replied to stratmaster's topic in Musicians Wanted
Sounds like the ultimate "pay to play" gig :-)
Has anyone heard anything on this yet ? . Given me a chuckle , if nothing else . Who does he honestly think would entertain it ?
-
I think the point is that it is snug with a padded gig bag, and SKB appear to offer $1500 contents coverage... And it only weighs 6 kg.. as compared with about 14 kg for my road ready case:-)
-
Maybe one of these? Not as heavy (and I have a roadready flight case so I know what I'm talking about) as a traditional ATA case and a great idea if you have a decent gigbag...
