Hi, This is what I think is a nice setup... Bi-amped of course.. (I've also just noticed that the flash has lit up some hangy down clothy stuff behind the bass ports - time to have a look inside !) I also use it as my keyboard rig.. Ashdown RPM-1/APM-1000 Warwick Terminator...

+1 on the Ibanez... I have an 2003 SR765 MIJ which plays very well.. If you want a wider string spacing and a longer scale one of the five string Ibanez BTB's with Bartolini PU's might be worth a look .. I have a four string 2008 BTB470 which has a very different character but that's one of the reasons I like it...I prefer both of them to the Rickenbacker 4001 I used to have... Both of these cost me less than £300 on the bay. and the BTB came with a hardcase for that as well.. Cheers Mark

You could take the speaker out of the cab and check what it is if you really want to be sure. As yes 350W is pretty much likely to be the max output.. If you tell me what the amp is it's easy to check...
Thats the thing,my 2 x 10 is 200 watts(8 ohms) but i dont know about my 1 x 15.The only thing it says on the speaker is 8 ohms. Also,is 350 watts at full volume ? Thanks for youre reply.
If they're both 8 Ohm cabs, then together (in 99% of cases) they'll be 4 ohms.. So assuming the total rating of the speakers is 400W and your amp puts out 350W at 4 Ohms you're in the right ballpark...

As a fairly decent piano player I think what they're trying to say is that psychological impact of seeing the sharps on the stave is different from seeing flats on the stave. You could notate the same passage in D flat and C sharp - the actual keys you pressed would be the same, but the pianist would approach it in a different frame of mind... Of course not everyone uses the same tuning for A - we use 440 Hz, some europeans use 444 Hz. And of course there is the issue of temperament (the gaps between notes in a scale).. Perhaps the start of another thread... :-)

I can read music, although I also find tabs useful and work out most stuff by ear... I'm also a keyboard player and singer so that also has some bearing on it.. I suspect it's not just reading music that is useful, it's all the theory that comes with it.. What do I find useful about it? It means I can learn stuff much faster than the other folk in the two bands I'm playing in seem to be able to do.. I also can "decode" structure and progressions which I think make be a better player by ear since my guess at what comes next is usually an educated one.. However it's the way I was brought up (I'm a grade 8 pianist and classically trained singer) so it works for me, I've met lots of superb musicians without a single hour of formal training... Horses for courses.. Cheers Mark

+1 on It Bites - though they did get to look cooler in the 90's... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRP9aSefC9g
In the acg for a while I actually quite liked the distortion I got from a dying battery... Is that weird?
Can I interest you in a job lot of nearly flat batteries? :-)

Battery change would be my first guess as well...

Hard to Handle (Black Crowes version) Addicted to Love (Robert Palmer). Have the added benefit of being quite fun to play as well..

Although "Jedi" Lee would be way cooler (and less South African sounding) than Geddy :-)
You were wrong then.
"Why do we call them kettle leads?". Are we allowed to put kettle leads in new kettles these days anyway? It's just not bass players who call them kettle leads, everyone in the IT industry does as well which causes problems when it turns out we need one of the bigger chunkier IEC connectors rather than the normal non-kettle lead :-)

Cable ties (reuseable) Gaffa Tape (Green and Black) - The green is for my stuff, the black for other peoples... Double sided tape Small tool kit with pliers, adjustable spanner, tweezers, screwdrivers, nippers, allen keys) 2 x 9V batteries Spare "watch" batteries Fuses Gas soldering iron and solder crimp connector kit 1 x 6 way surge protected extension leads cable tester multimeter spare instrument, patch and speaker cables. Spare connectors (Speakon, 6.35mm, Phono, XLR) various connector/adaptors/gender changers/extenders kettle lead tuner towel spare bass strap water spare strings (never used) spare 9V power supply with multi end adaptor. With the exception of the strings I've needed all of these or wanted to have them at a gig/rehearsal at some point... I use a soft camera bag (like a small-medium sized narrow backpack) which keeps things vaguely organised...However it's too small for my guitar stand, which is no biggy as I have lots of other stuff to lug as well... cheers Mark

NOW SOLD Ashdown Classic Series Klystron 575w

Just to add - although a second 8 ohm cab will make the most of your MAG300 and there will be more speaker to move more air as well - I only use mine for practice - for gigs I use an Ashdown RPM-1/APM1000 (1KW power amp) with a Warwick Terminator cab (2x15, 2x10 plus horn) not because it's that much louder, but because it sounds more dynamic and open...

It's evil, but what a hook :-) and as you say the bass run from 2:45 on is quite fine... :-)

Not so Tiny Ashdown RPM-1/APM-1000 rig - I like the ability to Bi-amp more than anything else about this setup.. I have a spare Amcron GeoDyne II that I can use as a backup, and a no-name active crossover/graphic EQ that in extremis can function as a preamp.. Now wait for the posts about transformers and slew rates in power amplifiers being the most important thing rather than pure RMS power.. :-) (ducks and hides)..
