  1. As long as my 2021 ordered and not yet received Shuker doesn’t count towards a fail in 2022, I think I could be in with a shout next year.
  2. My last gig of 2012 was 4/12 and I’m thankful that I’m not in crowded venues through this Christmas and New Year.
  3. I’m all for sharing, but is it too much to ask to make the topic understandable?
  4. It’s just the usual incomprehensible twaddle from the OP. I can only think that these topics are actually brought about by sporadic moments of comparative lucidity. The Santana album/track is 70’s by the skin of it’s teeth by which time King, Lindup and the Gould brothers were surely together.
  5. ….and….If I didn’t have J’s coming out of my ears I’d have the thing at that price!
  6. You don’t have to justify anything @AndyTravis. Those that know you know. End of.
  7. Good work in snagging your dream bass 👏👏👏👏. Looks fab 👍
  8. Well that looks fairly awful. Don't know what's going on with the tuners. Looks like someone had a previous attempt at fixing different a different type.
  9. @BassApprentice- just seen this has been bumped in the sale section. These are cracking basses and the seller is offering this at a great price. Lovely small body, superbly balanced and killer sound.
  10. I'm with you @thebrig. I think I started a topic on this very subject a little while ago. I do get the argument that you can spec any P model with a J neck through a CS build, but that really jacks the price up. Frustrated by the lack of choice and being in need of a quality P bass for a project, I ordered a Shuker in early 2021. Being the impatient so and so I am, when I was also offered a Lakland USA 44-64 Bob Glaub earlier this year and it ticked all my boxes and I bought it. The Lakland is really top notch and the neck is beautiful, almost a mirror image of the neck on my favourite J. I'm still waiting for the Shuker, so that's almost certainly going to be 2022, but it will be worth the wait. I guess what I'm trying to say is that it doesn't have to be a Fender. Or maybe it does in your case? I don't know. I think I would have to look for a significant amount of time to find a Fender P with a J neck that is significantly better than the Lakland I already have.
  11. Nothing would give me greater pleasure mate, but we’ve done our final food shop today so we’re officially in hibernation now until Christmas is over and done with. My gig diary sees me all over the place in 2022 providing you know what doesn’t c0ck things up. I’ll let you know if I’m local 🤘
  12. I really couldn’t decide without playing them, although I have a fairly good idea what each would sound like. Based on looks alone, I’d go Yamaha.
  13. I believe that was discussed at one point, but, if I was Billy Preston, I would have paid to be there doing what he did.
  14. I saw this today. It may well be old for all I know, but it made me laugh. I don’t necessarily agree with it, but it did raise a smile….
  15. Well said. Good to hear things have turned around for you mate. These gear threads can come across somewhat crass when little thought is given to those who are struggling, or worse from the sound of your recent situation. I count myself as guilty. Sending positive vibes out to those who find themselves in similar situations.
  16. I'm definitely going to watch it again, but it probably won't be before 2022 comes in as I want to watch them all back to back like I did the first time round.
  17. Out: Stingray's x 5 and Limelight x 1 In: Yamaha BBPH, Lakland USA 44-64 and a Ken Smith White Tiger Commissioned but not yet received: Shuker JJ Burnell Precision
  18. In all my years of playing Take On Me, I've never bothered with a synth sound for this song. It's one of those you can easily get away without IMHO - and I do have two synth pedals on my board. If you listen to this live version, it's debatable whether one is being used by them. If it is, after the few opening bars where the bass sound is exposed, I don't you think you would know for sure anyway. If you're thinking about it for just one song, I would save your money.
