It sounded OK to me. EDIT: When I say it’s OK, I mean it’s just that. Nothing special. The bass does seem to have a little less clank. It will be interesting to compare it to the CD. I’m less impressed with the song than the mix to be honest.

I’m sure I saw one of those pedal board videos on You Tube where Flea used the Q-Tron. Possibly for that sound in Sir Psycho Sexy, but I may be misremembering that. To be fair, he probably has a wide variety of filters to choose from. I’ve only had the MXR and I does exactly what I want it to. YMMV of course. I think I saw a Marlowe DK video of him playing around with it and that sold it to me. Might have been this one.

It's probably someone you know who is taunting you. I quite often get stuff pop up on my social media that my wife and relatives have searched for. The algorithms seem to cross the ether and find a way to annoy you.

I never played in Iron Maiden (obviously), but I played in the pub they did a lot of their early gigs in - The Ruskin Arms. Now that was a venue. Still have the scars to prove it!

Am I correct in saying that the song could only be considered as ‘classic rock’ due to the passage of time since it’s release? I think ‘classic rock’ is the closest term that fits this song and ‘Machine Head’; in fact, probably Deep Purple as a band as well. How that fits with their current output being as they’re still around today I don’t know. It’s all very confusing.

Just getting my diary in order for the 'return to normality' (ha ha) and realised my next five gigs are with six different bands (also playing support on the fifth gig). More of a worry is that gig #3 is dep gig that I said yes to a couple of months back with this ska band. Fortunately the set will be the same as three posts above, but I haven't played any of it since Sept '18. Could be more of case of relearning than just refreshing my memory 😬. Time to stop looking at 'Basses for Sale' and do some work I think.
