  1. I asked our guitarist what band he would tribute if he could choose any act and he said Free without taking a breath. Big shoes to fill, but I’d definitely have a go given the chance.
  2. I can’t help you there Brian as I’ve never tried one. All I do know is that a Handbox 400 through a Barefaced BigTwin II will stop a charging elephant and 100 paces! Seriously, I took my rig to the zoo. It really works 😂
  3. ....but I'm jolly glad you did. If I could justify having a spare 🤔
  4. Who knows. All I would say is that I’ve ordered quite a bit from them in the past and know that their stock is spread all over the place. For this reason, when enquiring about a bass I wanted, I rang them and asked them it’s physical location before ordering as I wanted to see it before shelling out over £2k unseen. They told me it was in Germany. They offered to transfer it to Romford, which they did. I went and had a look at it when it arrived and bought it after trying it. I have no reason to believe it can’t work the other way around if there is an issue.
  5. I was having a good think about this on the dog walk this morning. On one hand you could conclude that the inclusion of the Alpha/Omega is a sales gimmick and I think whichever way you look at it, that will at least partly be the case for the Dark Ray. You may also reach the view that on paper, taking into the account the success of the Nolly/Darkglass/Dingwall collaborations of recent years, that there could indeed be some mileage in it. My head also finds it slightly odd that the Granite Stone version is the Limited Edition. Personal choice I know, but I think an all gloss black/roasted neck or maybe a gloss black ‘midnight sparkle’ with MHS might look a bit more special. Perhaps use matt black without MHS as standard? A moot point anyway, it is what it is now - and I hate that expression 😂. The burning issue for me, is how that two band Darkglass pre-amp differs from the standard MM pre-amp. I think most of us know what the Alpha/Omega effects are going to sound like, but what will it sound like in standard mode through my rig? 🤔 Waffle aside, I thought the Patrick Hunter video was quite good. It’s what I want from a demo. Same riff played over and over with different settings. It would have been nice to know what the signal path was, but that’s being picky. I also applaud him for the criticism regarding it not having a mid pot. How many manufacturers are going to let someone get away with that and put it on their web site? Old school ‘Ray users will know what they can get out of a vintage Stingray 2 band EQ. For me it’s bass full on, bit of treble and adjust the rest on my amp = smokin’. I can’t help wondering whether Hunter is one of these people who just doesn’t like 2 band ‘Rays or is it because the Darkglass pre-amp is slightly different somehow? My head says it’s a non-issue. My fretting hand won’t thank me for ordering one. I’ve sold three ‘Rays for precisely that reason, but I can’t help but be intrigued by it all. 56 left and counting….
  6. The length of the string between nut and saddle hasn't changed in the OP's scenario, therefore intonation shouldn't need adjusting. Loosening the strings might cause a slight straightening of the neck which you can correctly counteract by a slight adjustment of the truss rod without adjusting the action.
  7. What amp are you using? The Barefaced BBII and BTII are rated at different impedances.
  8. No, but I've left the page open on my Mac. Still only 39 sold. The thing is, I have the effects already, although I can't help thinking how nuts one of these would sound going through my Darkglass amp with the bass and amp effects switched on. Probably a complete mess 😂
  9. As @BruceBass3901 suggests, I’d start with that so you can see where the adjustments need to be made. I have basses that handle the Eb tuning exceptionally well and others that don’t. It could well be solved with a different set of strings and no adjustment, it’s hard to say. I have one bass that actually sounds and plays better a half step down, so I just leave in Eb which is handy as one of my bands plays everything tuned down a half step.
  10. I had a big order come through from them the other day with no problems at all. I even rang them to change/add a few items and they were super helpful.
  11. Mick bought my Stingray Smoothie which was delivered to him yesterday. I’ve just got off the phone from him and he’s very happy with it. It was a perfect transaction with one of Baschat’s finest and I’m very pleased the Bass has found a very good home. Thanks again @marleaux62. May the Smoothie provide you much enjoyment.
  12. Love the look on the dogs face. ‘Mum, this one again? Seriously?”. Well done Sarah. Not an easy song to master and you’re pretty much there 👏👏👏👏
  13. Think whatever you like about the bass/video, but back off on Marathon Man 🤨 One of my all time favourites, usually watched with Three Days of The Condor, I think Hoffman was absolutely spot on in his prep for that role. His physicality of being 'out of breath' just works so well and he is acting on top of being that hot sweaty mess. Olivier did give me nightmares about going to the dentist for years afterwards though, in much the same way as Jaws did about swimming in the sea. Slight diversion, but since we're here anyway - I'd just got over the swimming in the sea thing and we went on holiday to Egypt. We went snorkelling and it was stunning. By the time we got back to England a woman had been attacked by a shark exactly where we had been diving 😮.
  14. Someone on 'Basschat USA' has ordered one and it's already shipped. I will read what he has to say about it with interest. They're not selling as fast as I thought they would. Still 74 of Ltd Ed colour left. I guess they are aimed at a specific corner of the market though. I'm kind of coming round to the Granite Stone colour. I just think they could have done some a little more inspiring for a Ltd Ed version. Just have to stop myself clicking 'Buy'.
  15. Just put one in my basket. £2576.67 all in. Not as bad as I thought. Mmm. Probably won’t keep it, but would be interested in trying one. 88 left and counting.
  16. The Line 6 does have the ability to switch channels, but as far as I know, it's manual, not automatic, which sounds like the only advantage that the Shure system has over the Line 6. I'm still confused as to what the best wireless system is 🤷‍♂️
  17. I thought the advantage of the Shure system above other similar ones was this: Solid signal LINKFREQ Automatic Frequency Management continuously scans for open frequencies and seamlessly switches before dropouts can stall the show.
  18. Which probably translates into £3499 🙄
  19. If I was still playing Stingrays regularly, I might be interested, but since I’m not, I’ll be able to save myself who knows how many £1000’s by avoiding these. If I was in the market for one, I certainly wouldn’t be going for the Granite Stone colour (limited to 100 pieces worldwide apparently) and why doesn’t the Obsidian Black version have a MHS? https://www.music-man.com/instruments/basses/darkray
  20. That doesn’t really answer the questions that have been asked. I think most of us can find our way to the Modulus web site to see what the options are 🙄
  21. I really need to update the firmware on mine. I'm going to try and find where I've hidden the lead tomorrow 🥴
  22. That’s knot acceptable. Return.
