I would go as far as to say that in a solid colour body bass, which I presume yours is, that’s a unique marker that makes it distinguishable as yours. I like it.

Yeah, both are more than acceptable for me and I’m also extremely fussy 👍
-
I can see the practicality of it given the directions those struts are coming in from, but yeah, someone should have picked up on that 🙄.

I don’t know what’s been going on in the background, but my items are starting to sell again after a long drought. The transfer of funds is not like it used to be with PayPal, but it’s reasonably quick averaging at 1-2 days into my bank account at the moment.

The Bowie band I’m in got caught out once with a second encore. We finished the main set, which wasn’t short by any gig standard and we then went off. It was a cracking gig on home turf and we knew the crowd wouldn’t leave it at that, so we duly came back on after they invited us and did the three song encore we had pencilled in finishing with a rousing Suffragette City to rapturous applause. We left stage again and that’s where we should have left it. The crowd once again went nuts and the band wanted to go back on for one more. I objected, but was outvoted. I was so busy objecting that I missed the argument about what song we were going to do and before I knew it they were heading back out to perform Five Years which I hadnt played for probably about that long. We squeaked by, but that final song wasn’t enjoyable. Luckily the audience didn’t care and lapped it up. For this reason we have since always programmed on one emergency encore song which we rehearse but almost always never use. In fact, I don’t think we’ve ever had to use it since, but it’s always there, never on a set list, but everyone knows what it is.

So, here's a thing. The above CD arrived yesterday and jolly good it is too, however.... I thought the whole Ahmet/Dweezil thing had been resolved and maybe it has, I don't know, but this CD makes me think maybe not. There are two song substitutions on this 'whole gig' double CD of the performance at Nassau Coliseum on 25/3/88. One of them is 'Stairway to Heaven' (replaced by the Towson performance on 23/3/88) and the other is 'Whipping Post' (replaced by the Providence performance on 16/3/88). Both of the Nassau versions of these songs featured performances by Dweezil. Coincidence? Towson and Providence do not. I'm fairly sure I have nearly all of the USA '88 gigs on a drive somewhere, so I'm going to have to dig them out, but I don't recall any sub standard performances by Dweezil. It just seems very odd that the only two subs were songs that Dweezil was on. If it is the case that Dweezil has blocked ZFT's use of them, I really wish they would get their sh!t together. Frank would not be happy.

I think they’re kind of expected these days. Not saying they’re wrong or right, it just seems to be the done thing.
-
Nice. Looking forward to the NBD thread 👍
-
Nope. Nice and shiny they are.
-
Wishing you all the best @Bluewine.

It seems like an awful lot of bother to go through to just to have the same effect as simply unplugging it. I like to have leave them unplugged as it’s one less trip hazard.
-
Yes, I think you may be correct. It’s not right though IMHO.
-
Ah, @Spewy, hello mate. I thought I recognised that photo in your avatar. Yeah, send it back mate as @neepheid suggests.

This thread pretty much sums up why I lost out on a sale this week. The buyer wanted the bass, but was too far away to collect. I wasn’t willing to ship, so it fell through. On one hand, you would think if the bass made it from the USA to the UK without issue that the extra 350 miles in this country wouldn’t make any difference. I wish that were the case. I often think about how many instruments Bass Direct much ship in a year and what percentage they have go missing.

Yes, I agree with you there regarding “L@@K” and those 💥 type emoji’s. I don’t even bother looking at the listings that have them, even if it is a bass I might be interested in. Nice bass, but I can’t be bothered dealing with that type of person if they’re selling it.
-
Yes, I did mate. It’s here. It’s probably a good thing I don’t live that close to him 😂.

I caved in a few months back. Still have a couple of months to wait 😬.

If I could have a blue P shaped thing, it would be this or very similar….
-
If you’re looking for a plug in and play P at a good price from a great bloke, look no further than this…. @walshy

+1 @Sibob’s comments. I don’t know your budget, but I would be looking at Lakland Skyline’s or if the budget allows, USA Lakland.

You know what you like and you like what you know. That can be a problem sometimes.
