  1. Well, I’m impressed. You should have started this thread with that paragraph. Could have saved a whole load of grief!
  2. Isn’t @FinnDave in a Grateful Dead tribute?
  3. Yes, I use DBE Hot Wires on my S2. I'm sure there are other comparable makes, but you'll not go far wrong with them.
  4. Yes, quite. This thread would make a good pair with the tone wood one 😎.
  5. These are the same type that Ida Nielson uses I think? I like them too.
  6. I would say that’s a Danelectro 3412 Short Horn. One of the first, if not the first model of bass produced by them.
  7. The one bass I have bought from Guitar Guitar arrived perfectly set up (for me), but I can’t say more than that. I’ve also dropped in unannounced at Peach Guitars and asked to try a few basses that I knew they had in stock and they were also spot on. All this may have been luck of course. To be fair, I expect to carry out a set up when any new (to me) arrives at Hackenbacker Towers. That’s half the fun of getting a new bass isn’t it?
  8. It sounds too noisy to me. How do we know this is the original? There seems to be a lot of unnecessary sliding around on the strings which I would certainly want at a minimum if it was me being recorded.
  9. Yeah, plenty of year left for you to trip up 😜.
  10. Yes, quite. I played it at volume for the first time on Wednesday and it sounds amazing. It has a jazz neck and is one of the very early ones that has the hand wound pick-up’s by Abigail Ybarra.
  11. I didn't think I had been that bad, but looking at my list, 2020 was a disaster in terms of gear abstinence 😂. I bought (and sold) a lovely Spector Euro 4LX-TW. Seriously addictive pre-amp/sound, but I couldn't get on with the neck (too deep for me). I also sold a Genz-Benz amp, but then bought a Handbox R-400. Bass wise, I bought a Lakland 44-64 Bob Glaub, a Fender 'Adam Clayton' Custom Shop Precision in a very neutral big flake gold sparkle 😂 and 'birthed' the Jazz bitsa in my sig. ....oh, and I ordered a Shuker Precision 🤷‍♂️. P.S. I forgot, I've sold a Stingray as well - all bar the shouting 👍
  12. Are we allowed to know what you sold and then bought?
  13. Proof, if it were at all needed, that we have some damn fine luthiers right here in the UK. I really do like that. Congratulations.
  14. "The pleasure is to play, makes no difference what the tonal variation of the wood is!" Ian Fraser Kilmister (24 Dec 1945 – 28 Dec 2015)
  15. I didn’t even know that BG Sig was a thing. Just looked it up and it looks fab. Still has bass and treble adjustments, but tucked away, so set and forget. Plus, has the distortion circuit. Would love to try that out.
  16. Don't know about the wood, but the Evening Orchid/Burgundy Mist/Whatever it is Colour bass sounds and looks sweet.
  17. @waveydavy - I know someone who may be interested in this. I’ll message him now.
  18. @prowla - I agree. My point wasn’t about whether this forum could assist the aggrieved parties, it was about not assisting the defence.
  19. I’ve said it before but I’ll re-iterate it anyay, whether this forms part of the evidence or not, the thread still forms part of disclosure, as the defence could argue it may assist them in some way. The fact that there are comments on the thread that suggest some posts have been edited and/or modified by Admin/Mods makes it even more complicated. The defence could request any redacted information in the belief it could assist them. It won’t, but it doesn’t stop them making an application.
