  1. I wouldn’t worry about that. Collusion usually becomes an issue when more than one individual gives the same account regarding one specific act to strengthen the evidence in that offence. It’s generally not multiple individuals giving the same account about similar acts. Each act will be judged on its own merits and backed up by its unique evidential trail.
  2. Out of interest, what is the daily reaction limit?
  3. It does sound weird, but I think he's been there and done the commission build thing and if he was still taking orders, he would have more work that he's prepared to do. He now builds what he wants to build in the knowledge that they will sell. I don't see a list of unsold basses on his web site.
  4. Yeah, if it happens it happens. I'm not losing sleep over it.
  5. Yes, I think I'm on the list. John has the spec for my bass on file and has promised to contact me if any of his builds look like they're going in the desired direction. I've not heard anything yet and that was last August.
  6. £1830 delivered. It's certainly the right ball park. I think I'd want to shave a bit off that, but it's probably priced for a haggle. Now the mother-in-law has moved to Norwich, I have no excuse to visit Lincolnshire 😂
  7. Has to be worth a punt on here mate. I've had some right results with buyers close to me or willing to travel a bit/meet half way. Definitely cheaper than losing 15% on a commission sale.
  8. I had one bass once. It was about 45 years ago and immediately prior to that I had no basses 😎.
  9. Just realised I didn’t actually post a picture of my Limelight in this thread. The full unedited version is here, but the brief version is I wanted a John Deacon alike P bass in the finish (stripped) that he was using it for the Live Aid gig. I know I mentioned I had a spare Flea neck which I was going to use in my Limelight build, but I ended up using that for my own self build bitsa J which you can see here. On with the photos....
  10. Oh dear. This (normally as a thread) never ends well 😂
  11. I can’t help either, but likewise, this was part of my childhood too. My Dad was a big James Last fan. He took me to see James Last at the Royal Albert Hall (I think 😬). I bet he had some Percy Faith in his collection as well? ‘Theme from a Summer Place’ was a popular selection.
  12. Oldman UPDATE - One of our own is in ICU. For those that have been following Brian's thread (and for those that haven't) spare a moment to drop in on his thread and send him best wishes.

Brian’s thread has been a bit of an inspirational read some days... the humour never stops despite the gravity of the situation. I really do hope he’s out soon

  13. Reading these comments makes me think I made the right move ordering from Jon Shuker. I wanted a P bass with a J neck and went right around the houses in my thought process. Custom build to my spec with roughly the same wait time and probably not much difference in price.
  14. Received positive feedback on eBay with 'Yeah, that's sick' as the comment. Does that mean he wants to return it? 🤷‍♂️

At least he took the time to feed back. More than I can say for the majority of the others I’ve sold to.

      Were you selling Vomit??

  15. Yes, I really like these DT770’s. Really open sound and far more subtle than my previous cheapo practice pair. Needs a little more on the dial of my Bass Buddy to achieve what I perceive to be the same volume level as the old ones, but I’m really happy with the purchase. I haven’t noticed the slight increase in weight at all and I notice that my ears were not hot and sweaty after an extended use, maybe because they sit further off the ear than my old ones. I bought them from Anderston’s who seemed to offer the best deal at the time. Tracked delivery via DPD included in the price.
  16. Yes my box arrived, but the CD’s didn’t until yesterday.
  17. Pathetically materialistic of me I know, but it makes me very happy to complete the set with case. The full CD set is going for stupid money on eBay, the vinyl set for even more. Not selling mine though. Nothing like getting that Friday feeling on with a bit of Bowie in the background.
  18. To a certain extent I agree with both comments, but there was never a need to copy the originals when you have musicians that are talented enough to produce equally valid and different versions. I'm a massive Bowie fan (obviously), but I'm not one of these people that are so tied into the Ziggy era (for example) that nothing else will do. Here's an example (of which there are many) where GAD does more than Trevor did on the original. This is the line I choose to play when we perform it. Trevor with additional frills if you like 😀
  19. Meant to say @Bluewine, Having watched the NYE video, it's the same crew as Maple Road isn't it? Does this originals band run alongside Maple Road or is MR done?
  20. Is there supposed to be a link? Although I’m fairly sure I know what video you’re referring to. That’s the one version of TMWSTW I haven’t played live yet. We’re doing the Lulu version at the moment.
  21. Almost the same vintage as your old one isn't it?
