  1. Sorry, I edited my post and left it making no sense whatsoever 😂. I meant to say I have a couple of synth pedals and bizarrely, they are both on my board at the moment. I have the SY-1 and the Future Impact. If you don’t like messing about with patches, the FI probably isn’t for you, but I’m sure you could get something usable out of the SY-1. Not much difference in price though, so you’d probably want to A/B them.
  2. I haven't used one, but I do have a couple and have played P.Y.T. before. Plug in and play doesn't get much simpler than the Boss SY-1.
  3. Allow me. How about a trade for a good condition copy of Douglas Adams ‘So Long and Thanks For All The Fish’ (hardback version!) and half a packet of chocolate Hob-Nobs?
  4. I don’t remember that one Dave. When did that come out?
  5. Great memories. I still have loads of Sounds papers in the loft somewhere along with the first edition of Kerrang! magazine.
  6. I’m all Jazzed out at the moment, but that is just fabulous. Have a bump.
  7. +1. Not only would they not care, if you tried to explain it to the average punter, they wouldn’t understand the difference either.
  8. Yeah, I know you would pal. Where are you that night? Anywhere close?
  9. It's a strange venue, I'll give you that. A former church that has been converted into a very popular live venue. I think the font or the pulpit still form part of the stage (pulpit I think). Great backstage area though and the resident sound guy really knows his stuff.
  10. Now rescheduled to 9/7/2022. Our first gig for over a year and I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to playing live again. Tickets on sale now. Support is `å la Queen' performing the 1985 Live Aid set and more. Tickets available here.
  11. I'm not sure what's worse, trying to remember a song that you haven't played for over a year, or trying to work out a new song that you've never played.

I definitely play for fun. I don’t get an awful lot out of going over the same sections repeatedly whilst trying to work out what’s going on, especially when it’s buried in a horrible mix. I got to the end of the set in the end. It’s surprising how much comes back with ‘muscle memory’.

Yeah it can be a real slog, but the eureka moments hopefully make up for it at times!

  12. I saw this post pop up about a minute after @TheGreek posted it and that was my initial thought too. I don't think Geddy would regard himself as such. He's a hell of a bass player and one I very much admire, but I'm not sure about musical genius - whatever that is even?
  13. Great player for sure, but what has Ross King got to do with it? 😂😂
  14. I must admit I’ve been victim of low ceiling headstock collision myself. There’s a club in Chelmsford called The Basement with not only low ceilings, but they are a lot lower in certain areas than others. We even had to move our set up around a bit as our guitarist is quite a tall chap and he would have had to play and duck at the same time. At the end of the first set I undid a strap lock and lifted the bass slightly to slide the strap off and ‘boink’. Horrible moments them, you kind of dare not look. Luckily it was a machine head and no damage. Tell you what, I never did it again in all the times I’ve played there.
  15. That is just gorgeous. There was someone looking for a sub £500 5'er very recently. I'll tag them if I can find the topic. They'll get a right bargain.
  16. To be honest, I've never seen that type of page. The way I've always found a topic I've started is to go to My Profile > See Their Activity > Topics. It's never failed me.
  17. Do you have them sorted in the correct order? i.e date started?
  18. Well, it appears as though the two topics you've mentioned are there for @ped and I, but not visible to you, so logically....
  19. I just checked your 'topics started' and they are both there. Leads me to believe the issue is at your end.
  20. I love playing Madness songs. Been a while since I’ve depped with the Ska band. Hopefully I’ll get a call again soon. The Bruce Thomas will be perfect 👍
  21. You could be on to something there! I assumed, possibly incorrectly, that the room in question was upstairs. If so, the footprint of the pit could make a interesting talking point as it protrudes from the ceiling into the lounge. But for a bungalow or downstairs music room, your solution is genius 👏👏👏👏.
