  1. Oh, I completely agree Taurus was the genesis of Stairway. No denying that, but it’s a small descending pattern that Jimmy & Co ran a marathon with.
  2. I dunno, I can't remember where I read it now, but I thought that was taken into account during the appeals. I know it matters not a jot what think, but yes, the descending pattern is very similar, but 'Taurus' ain't 'Stairway To Heaven'. It's the vocal and the hook at the end of that descending pattern that make it what it is. I'd have kicked it out of court too. YMMV of course.
  3. The Blurred Lines/Got To Give It Up thing was a load of tosh. I thought part of the reason the Stairway thing went on as long as it did was because, as you said, they weren't allowed to hear Taurus and that allowed the appeals.
  4. Mmm - a couple of issues there.... 1. Thicke sang it. I presume no-one was standing there with a gun to his head at the time. 2. What happened in the 70's and 80's doesn't justify what happens in 2012/13.
  5. That's the way the cookie crumbles in the legal system. It went as far as it could and can't heard again.
  6. The bass player is not @ped or @Rich - it's William Taylor 😎
  7. Personally, I think you might be missing something. The lyrics are ambiguous, but it has been suggested, not by me, that they are concerned with boundaries regarding consensual and non-consensual sex. I've seen more blatant lyrics from hard core rappers, so yes, I agree with you there. I find it hard to believe that all the 701 million hits from the video are just from males though.
  8. Pharrel walks away free? Didn’t that song cost him millions?
  9. Yes, agreed. Always the problem with unique instruments, no -one really knows what it’s like and I doubt anyone will take a punt at that price without more detail and some audio/video to support it. You haven’t even listed it’s weight.
  10. Great? I’m not sure Paula Patton would agree.
  11. I’m going to carve out 90 mins on Friday to absorb this and report back. Thanks for the heads up @Clarky 👍
  12. I’m not convinced 10,000 would sell, but I take your point. Fender are still punting Pino’s out to order, so I guess it could work. It doesn’t seem to be the way of things at EB though. This seems to be more of a Fender Phil Lynott P affair than anything else.
  13. Providing they are confident they can sell all 26, that argument makes no sense. Far easier and economical to make the 26 and rake the cash in from them than say making 52 @ $3,500 each. I do agree though that $7k is a bit much. In fact. I would go as far to say for what you get, it's taking the gypsy's kiss. Don;t get wrong, I'll happily spend $7k, just not on a Stingray.
  14. The more I see of it, the more I want it. Fabulous mate. Nice choice of LED colours too. Not to mention the ridiculously low action, but coming from you, that was a given.
  15. I think there is a song with him playing bass on the Rave Un2 the Year 2000 DVD. Wrings it’s neck and throws it (literally) away afterwards. Can’t look for it now cos I’m watching NFL. Yeah, he could play 😜
  16. I was just thinking this morning I hadn’t see a bass that piqued my interest for a while, then this comes along. Lovely looking instrument and good weight to boot. I look forward to seeing the rest of the images 👍.
  17. Me and Gouche are like 🤞. I don't read music either 😂. The man is super solid. Love what he does.
  18. My fault for watching it on eBay, but I’ve had a message from the seller. Apparently, “This is too close to the original so might get wiped from ebay any day, so get it while I can still sell it here... already banned on Reverb!” That day can’t come soon enough IMHO. I note with interest that the price has dropped by £50.
  19. A fairly common reaction. Let's see how long it stays before it gets pulled.
  20. The 12 string that is now a 6 string is excellent 🙄
