  1. I don't think that prevents a link. I'm happy to proved wrong.
  2. It's not for sale here though is it, therefore, no problem as far as the rules go.
  3. I don't much care what the MU says, it's not in the spirit of not meeting persons from other households indoors. Local rehearsal space owners seem to be of the same opinion. This quote from one of them makes perfect sense to me.... "We know a lot of our customers are professional musicians, but unless you are actually paid to come to rehearsal, then the announcement is very misleading. We cannot stay open for one or two bands as most people will be locking down. The financial support is there if we close - if we open, we have to survive on our own and we won't last long on three booked sessions a week. The rules are clear - no meeting of any other households indoors. This applies to us and we aren't prepared to risk an outbreak on our premises during lockdown. We also can't risk a £10,000 fine over what is a very grey area - different studios are reading and hearing what suits. We are, once again, being cautious and trying to remain safe as well as making sure we have a business to come back to."
  4. The interpretation around these parts is that unless you get paid to attend rehearsals, which probably excludes most of us here, then you shouldn’t be doing it.
  5. There quite a few on eBay shipping worldwide from Japan. Bit pricey though.
  6. Misaligned strings is the one that gets me. There are some hideous examples in the marketplace on this very forum. G string almost falling off the fretboard etc. Uneven string spacing too.
  7. Yes, Lull’s are excellent. Not a maple board, but if I wanted a red P, then this would be the one for me. https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Mike_Lull_PJ4_Fiesta_Red.html
  8. Yes indeed. He took part in a thread on here a while back. No stranger to the Marketplace either.
  9. I can just imagine the queue of £ucking crack head experts lining up out CC to see how much money they could make out of a stolen vintage Fender. Are you for real?
  10. Hi Pete, Thanks so much for your kind words. It really means a lot mate. The real shame of it is, like 99% of the rest of Basschat, that after all the hard work we’ve put in over the years, everything has ground to a halt rather abruptly. As a 7 piece, we can’t even rehearse at the moment. We’re investigating Jamkazam, but unless you have a drummer with en electronic kit or a drum room at home (which we don’t), it’s difficult. Hopefully 2021 will turn a corner. As for the basses, yes, I’m very lucky to have some nice ones in the collection. Yes, you are correct, that is a Wal Mk3 which is perfect for this band. I generally use that, a Stingray and a Lull, although I am now also the proud owner of a USA Lakland which will fit in nicely too.
  11. Good work mate. I like it. Some interesting ideas in there. Is there more to come?
  12. Red? Yes Maple board? Yes Professional? Yes Good? Yes Off the shelf? Well, sort of 😉 7lbs or less? Near as damn it (7lbs 7oz) It's not a P, but don't get hung up on that. If I didn't have one already, it would be gone by now.
  13. This is a very interesting point you’ve raised, but not necessarily one I have an answer to. Our keys player nominated me to do one of those ‘post an album that influences you each day for 10 days’ things on Facebook around the time of the original lockdown. I decided 10 albums wasn’t enough and 240 days later, I’m still doing it every single day. I’m going to do 365. It’s been an interesting routine and has led me to listen and read about a lot of the artists and albums I love. Most are albums I play quite often anyway, but quite a few are ones on vinyl that I’ve had to blow the dust off. Yesterday’s choice was nearly Rossini, but ended up being The Kinks. I can’t explain why I like either, but I know I do. I’m also aware that others may not and that’s just fine. That’s the beauty of music. NB: The process has also sent me down some interesting ‘rabbit holes’. Example - I have always liked Thompson Twins and they were my daily selection a few days ago. I was, however, unaware that Tom Bailey was making music again. This led me to listen to his recent (2018) solo album ‘Science Fiction’. Absolutely love it.
  14. Yes, I've had that happen to me once. I think Paypal dropped themselves in the doo doo a while back for not having measures in place to prevent money laundering. Unfortunately, the measures they now have in place puts everyone under scrutiny and as frustrating as it is, there's no way of hurrying them. There wasn't for me anyway. Yes, I try and avoid that, but choose to do it on a case by case basis. Just have to be nosey with their history first I think.
  15. INERTIA was made for @Kev and I bought it off him. It's a wicked good pedal and would recommend it to anyone looking for some decent fuzz sounds. https://www.cogeffects.co.uk/inertia.php
  16. 3M Dual Lock is not known for coming off that easily. I think I would be concerned about the finish on my basses. I tried to remove some from the back of a pedal I was selling and was a heck of job to get it off. Even when I did, it left a hefty bit of residue behind. EDIT: Doesn't it get in the way when you're playing standing up? I think it would for me.
  17. Might I suggest that it is replaced with something that doesn't compress. If it's been there forever, it's probably not going to get any flatter, but it's just something to think about. https://www.stewmac.com/tonewoods/electric-bass-bodies-and-necks-and-wood/bass-necks/stewmac-neck-shims-for-bass.html
  18. Unapologetic Basschat Straplock Promo? 😂 Lovely ‘Ray.
  19. I can’t promise I’ll be able to do anything with it, but worth a fresh set of eyes on it maybe. PM me mate. I go over the Bas occasionally, so might be passing you at some point.
  20. Shotgate - between Wickford and Rayleigh.
