  1. I wonder who's going to be first to use the ramp? my money is on Brian May, for We Will Rock You (speculation of course, I don't actually know anything)
  2. Have you got a link to the twitter post pls?
  3. Thanks! I can see where I'm going to have my toilet breaks now.
  4. Did you see JPJ grooving in the wings during the Alright guitar solo?
  5. Chris Chaney? yeah, he gets around a bit https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Chaney
  6. Josh Freese, according to https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/foo-fighters/2022/wembley-stadium-london-england-3b0a5bb.html
  7. Whaaaat Dave G playing bass on Hot For Teacher with Wolfgang Van Halen and Justin Hawkins. Who was the pink-haired drummer? that was awesome.
  8. Never thought I'd see Nate Wood on stage at Wembley Stadium in a holo-effect catsuit Quite enjoying the randomness of it so far! Glad they got Liam Gallagher out of the way early doors though.
  9. I'm not sure if Bandcamp Friday affects subscriptions, but it's worth a bump seeing as it's today: https://stevelawson.bandcamp.com/subscribe
  10. In A Silent Way, but then again it's only got two songs
  11. Other highlights: Brand X with Phil Collins on drums "Phil Manzanera" = 801 with Brian Eno, Bill MacCormick, Simon Phillips etc
  12. It's been downhill since 1976 /oldman (which is difficult as it's such a flat site)
  13. I had a mysterious £6.83 credit appear in my bank account earlier this week from "Magazinesdi". I don't know anyone called Diana Magazines so I suspect that's part refund for my unused subscription.
  14. Is it your band? Make a unilateral decision, preferably before hiring any band members. Otherwise it'll be endless band names list hell and the dreaded vote-off
  15. The long and short of it is that I'm running out of things to read in the bath
  16. Yep agreed that grated somewhat. eg Theory article on melodic minor; picture of bass player who might be a bit melodic, or playing a something minor. Or just a bass player.
  17. As a reader from day one of the US version, that's a real shame but the mag's been downhill for me ever since they stopped printing actual music which is kinda essential for a musical instrument magazine. How you can publish articles like "the most influential bassline in history", "100 greatest bass parts of all time" etc and have cover artists like Cliff Burton, Chris Squire, Laura Lee (and I'm just looking at my current stash of unread BPs) without a bar of music is a significant part of the downhill stretch. Good luck with the online version. The site run by the ex-US BP staff is really good though https://bassmagazine.com/
  18. C&P from the dusty end of basschat circa 2014: Basschat fans everywhere will remember this thread about the Blockheads bassist selling his Fender Jazz on eBay So Norman gave his guitar to Andy (Baxter) to sell, who lists it on eBay the link gets posted on Basschat (thanks to BC user thebrig!) I show the link to my bassist pal Matt Matt shows the link to his dad and bass tutor Laurence Canty Laurence shows the link to his ex-student Colin Colin contacts Andy and puts a deposit down, and subsequently buys the bass. And that's the story of how Colin Greenwood out of Radiohead bought Blockhead Norman Watt-Roy's 1962 Shoreline Gold Fender Jazz bass. Also, (different story), after John Giblin playing a Takamine TB-10 with Kate Bush in her 2014 shows, I decide to find a Takamine TB-10 for myself somehow. Time passes, stuff happens, yada yada, I've now got John Giblin's Takamine TB-10 from the Kate Bush shows.
  19. TMB spent 5-figure $$$ amounts tracking down, purchasing and creating "Peter"'s rainbow cape for Watcher Of The Skies, down to finiding the same colours from the original silk manufacturers. Also, fun fact, if TMB were actual Genesis, Phil would have retired by now and they'd be on the way to releasing Calling All Stations.
  20. Duke Suite starts at 37m14s. But watch all of it, it's amazing.
  21. Duke's pretty good with a small handful of clunkers - seek out the 1980 Lyceum show for the Duke Suite in it's intended form end to end (Behind the Lines/Duchess/Guide Vocal/Turn It On Again/Duke's Travels/Duke's End)
  22. Now playing: Rites of Dawn by Wobbler if you like 70s Yes you'll like this. https://wobbler.bandcamp.com/
  23. Hejira (4 tracks with Jaco) and S&L are long-time favourites. Look out for Don Juan's Restless Daughter and Mingus as well.
  24. Moog Taurus 3 pre-Mike McCready: Moog Taurus 3 post-Mike McCready:
  25. Crikey that's steep, even for Ronnie's. Although having said that I usually go for the restricted view seats because they're not that restricted. but having said that, they've also reduced the footprint of seats in the restricted view area. Because I can suddenly see around pillars a lot better.
