  1. Agree, it should be called "Here Are The Various Bits Of This Song"
  2. I like a couple - The Charismatic Voice for all the above reasons, plus Jamel AKA Jamal because he's just such a lovely lad. Also, pretty much anyone ever who's done a reaction video for Jinjer's Pisces. eg ahem "The Fairy Voice Mother" here
  3. Magma (saturday night). Also Magma (friday night)
  4. The miming over a backing track version is still pretty good mind you (also there's a fairly good live version from 2014 on the internet somewhere)
  5. Tenuous UK Subs connection: I was once in a band whose previous bassist was the original (or maybe second) UK Subs bassist. edit: I've checked the history books and turn out I preceded him. And this band's timeline is marginally simpler than that of the UK Subs
  6. My bandmates often tell me something about a wind break, it all makes sense now
  7. For the sake of balanced content, TLev with hair. (from https://tonylevin.com/road-diaries/looking-back/pictures-from-way-back)
  8. I've been twice, when I was 29 and when I was 35, which simultaneously proves and refutes your hypothesis. My good friend Dr Schrödinger agreed with me, then didn't.
  9. I'm sure there's plenty there to keep one entertained if you wander around the myriad infinity of stages Which I can't be arsed with, so I'll pick up edited highlights on BBC4
  10. And delightful fretless tone, appearing in 1987 with recently in vogue pop singer, and some bloke on guitar.
  11. Good stuff! how about a bass clef/notation version for the hat trick?
  12. New Moon as well. I like that you can specify home/UK/Worldwide cover per item. As with all insurance it all boils down to the process and experience when you need to claim - which thankfully I've never had to.
  13. I was at the second Royal Albert Hall show. Jeff was great, and Rhonda was brilliant (sounded fine from my seat) Annoyances: 1. The running times were changed on the website on the day of the gig. We were originally told JB at 7.30, interval, resume at 8.30, done by 10pm. Fine lets get there early lads! We did, and sat through the insipid Sharon Corr support set wondering when JB would join in. 2. Johnny Depp - he's just rubbish really. And appearing while awaiting a trial result is being deliberating just a bit tasteless. We went to the bar for the majority of it. A couple of RAH staff I spoke were surprisingly vocal about it - one said it ruined the show for her, another said they'd received a lot of complaints that JD was even in the building.
  14. Agree Jeff Beck was brilliant, Johnny Depp terrible, it ruined the show. And I've been looking forward to this show for over two years!
  15. Interesting read about how it's done: https://www.musicradar.com/features/abba-voyage-how-does-it-work
  16. How are they doing the vocals? Is it a live vocalist in the session band? (doubt it tbh) vocals from the original recordings? re-recorded vocals by Agnetha and Anni-Frid? (and/or the lads where relevant - do they do Does Your Mother Know?)
  17. My suspicion is that not hanging around posting on internet forums is one of the essential secret weapons of the successful busy working bassist
  18. Can we talk about Mister Strings' earlobes? I can't look. I can't not look.
  19. Gary Numan is 13 days older than Gary Oldman
  20. Absolutely, and (apologies if this steps on anyone's toes) the US version of BP, and its current online version, I find is the better read. But I'll still read both.
  21. Yep, same here. It was definitely £2.50 when I first looked.
  22. I'm seeing Tool next week, I'll see if they have any on the merch stall
  23. It's £4.99 in the shops, so £2.50 doesn't sound too bad. Possibly worth bearing in mind it's not what used to be US Bass Player magazine, but what used to be UK-based Bass Guitar Magazine. Something happened at the publisher level to disappear the US mag (now entirely online at https://bassmagazine.com/) and replace the title with the UK mag. Horses for courses though obviously.
