  1. Here's my Korean-made MAB-40 from the early 90s. My first "proper" bass after entry-level P copy. The photo doesn't quite do justice to the metallic purple sparkle finish. Also those Trace Elliot strings have been kept on to match the strap. Also note multiple Producer Switches
  2. Nice to hear Echoes! (and Candy And A Currant Bun for more niche value)
  3. https://basslessons.be/transcriptions.php?i=349
  4. I used to work with a chap who would pronounce the well known brassica brock-oh-lye We're no longer in touch of course
  5. See also the well-known bass equipment manufacturers Bruschetta and Chorizo
  6. Aguilar is either Agg Wee Lar OR Uh Gwee Lar definitely got a wee in there either way
  7. Definitely Lakeland for Lakland, after Dan Lakin. Also Wol, Say as above. Slightly off topic but what surprised me recently was cymbal manufacturer Paiste. Pie Stee!
  8. Apocalypse in 9/8 is E on the bass pedals from 16m44s to 20m 26s (on the Seconds Out version), which is nearly 4 whole minutes of tuning opportunity (assuming you can handle pedals and 12-string guitar simultaneously)
  9. Use black mains extension leads. Use white ones and you look like a Rumbelows shop window.
  10. Don't give your 1975 Rickenbacker 4001 to a stagehand for safe-keeping in case they prop it up on the banister at the top of the concrete stairs leading down to the backstage area
  11. I thought the same about Enter Sandman, which is obviously disqualified. What's yours?
  12. Funky stuff indeed. Thanks!
  13. Random playlist time - Three On E. Hopefully self-explanatory. I've thought of four so far, got any more suggestions?
  14. how do! My favourite Laurence Canty story from the basschat archives: https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/193152-the-power-of-basschat/#comment-1884147 Also, Colin mentions Laurence in the Bass Magazine interview from the first edition of Bass Magazine https://bassmagazine.com/artists/colin-greenwood-how-to-disappear-completely I've got both What Bass (third edition) and Electric Bass Guitar, The Complete Guide - More What Bass memories to follow but what sticks in my mind is how to set up a Boss Octave pedal for optimum Pino sound. The Complete Guide - the rhythm patterns, aieee
  15. I used them ages ago but switched to New Moon for their much more flexible cover, and they're always happy to receive an updated equipment list from me (they may make paper aeroplanes out of it for all I know) For proof of ownership in event of a claim, a previous conversation was that receipts are best, photographic proof (with you in picture if possible) even better.
  16. When I adopted it I had to say to my band "I'm going to sound terrible for a few weeks" (to replies of "no change there tone" etc etc)
