  1. Also as mentioned above, Steve Hackett has/had some awesome players in his band, but Lee Pomeroy is by far best (imho) and most faithful to the Genesis back catalog.
  2. Seeing them tonight - had no idea Lee Pomeroy was on board. Any idea what's happened to Jim Leverton?
  3. You could probably give Stratus a go, maybe some Chick Corea Electrik Band (we used to do Space), The Chicken - here's a 7/8 version for trio
  4. Excellent, my previous jazz/fusion band used to do Chromazone. You've got this right? (it's pretty accuarate) https://basslessons.be/transcriptions.php?i=19
  5. Meanwhile, Steve Hackett at the Palladium last night was excellent. (obligatory name dropping section: had a chat with John Etheridge and Theo Travis of Soft Machine in the interval, and also singer Alan Reed pre-gig. On the way back the station afterwards, discreet nod to Dave Swift who was crossing the road at the same time as me head to Charing Cross)
  6. Hope you do! It looks like an awesome light show. Songs I never knew used both halves of double-neck, plus bass pedals: Duchess.
  7. I've been watching various video clips and live streams thank to the phone wielding audience in the Utilita Arena. The set is 95% non-surpise. There's an acoustic section mid-set, which features my favourite bit so far - a low-profile Lamb Lies Down On Broadway. The other area of interest was the segue from Fading Lights to The Cinema Show. I was hoping this was going to take place via a subtle and intriguing Banksian key change and modulation (especially given that a lot seems to be transposed down), but no, it's a massively abrupt and jarring cut and shut job between the two. Maybe that's what they were aiming for. Otherwise - reviews seem to hover around "not as bad as expected", Phil's voice is better but still not match fit if you ask me. There's a facebook group "Genesis the last domino? Tour 2021" (https://www.facebook.com/groups/2481184305530729) which features the videos and live streams mentioned above.
  8. Spoiler alert - it's going to get painful enclosing every reply in a spoiler box, so from here can we say all clear to talk about the set now that we're a couple of days in? I'll start in the next comment so you've got time to avert your eyes if needed.
  9. It's kinda like getting him in the spotlight is the big idea behind it all.
  10. John Giblin's Takamine TB-10 from the Kate Bush "Before The Dawn" show (and ended up buying it)
  11. I'm currently available to join any band with Carol Vorderman in the line-up
  12. Octopus is a winner. Love the album art as well. No tongue, only tentacles. Reminds me of an ex girlfriend.
  13. has anyone mentioned "groovehacker" yet?
  14. see you and raise you "buttah"
  15. As does "get in the sea" (sorry)
  16. What happens if I link to a bank account that's got zero balance and I subsequently close the account?
  17. Possibly still in stock here: https://www.peckhamsoul.co.uk/shop/vinyl/morningrise/ https://blackcirclerecords.co.uk/product/opeth-morningrise/ https://www.badlands.co.uk/opeth-morningrise-grey-blue-2-vinyl-lp-record-store-day-2021/
  18. And the icing on the cake: Anyone know the song that Gene can't get?
  19. I got to my local shop about 11am. Got the Opeth release? Sorry, sold it. It? yeah we only got one. That'll teach me to have a lie in! (Got it later online from Rough Trade at the 6pm online release) I'll be one the ball for next time: Jon Anderson, Magma, St Vincent
  20. That was the original intention, maybe I should have been more obvious! Here's another to get us back on track. You may think you're cool but you're no Carol Kaye (no further specification needed) Keep them coming (bass players preferred).
  21. I've just accepted offer "Grab 80% off variable eBay selling fees (excludes 30p order-level fees)". Erm, thanks?
  22. Except pipe and curly lead, as previously established.
